In this emotional and “gripping rock-star romance that hits all the right notes” (USA Today Happy Ever After), a damaged bad boy fights for a second chance with the love of his life. I’m no Prince Charming. Most people know me as the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. Depending who you ask, I’m also a playboy, a loner, the life of the party, a screw-up, or according to my fans, “The Sexiest Rock … according to my fans, “The Sexiest Rock Star on the Planet.” Apparently, I’m a legend.
Am I surprised? Hell, no. It’s a reputation I’ve earned behind my drum kit and behind closed doors. No one thought foster kid Landon Cox would become famous. Infamous, maybe. Notorious, probably. But successful? Never. No one except Piper Hastings. But I had to make a choice: my woman or my career. I picked fame and fortune… and spent every damn day since pretending I don’t regret it.
Now fate’s dropped Piper back into my life. I want to believe it’s a second chance for me – for us. But while I can give her a few great nights, I can’t give Piper a future.
Because there’s a difference between a legend and a fairy tale… Only one of them ends happily ever after.
“You will love this drama filled emotional read that is full of heated exchanges and heart-pounding romance.” –Fresh Fiction on Rock King

“Legends were just made up stories about people that didn’t really exist.”
Rock Legend is book two in the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. Wow. That’s the word I first want you to hear me say in regards to this book! Just Wow! While I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Rock King, I simply loved this one. I have read several rock star romances but this might be my first drummer. Does that mean I was a drummer virgin? If I was, I’m not anymore!
Landon Cox was the child of addicts and a product of the system. No one expected him to really make anything of himself. Landon’s love was always drumming. So when he met up with Shane and the guys and they formed the band, Nothing But Trouble, it was the perfect life for him. At first they weren’t much more than a garage band. But then when Travis signed them on, they all had hope that they could somehow make it.
Landon had met Piper when she was a freshman in college and they were inseparable. They spent two months together and it was the best two months either of them had ever experienced. But when Landon is given a choice, choose the band or the girl, he had to choose the band. His life depended on it.
Piper Hastings grew up never being enough for her father. Now in college she is finally free from his expectations. When she met Landon, she thought he was the one. He had very quickly become the center of her world. And then he was gone, just gone. She never knew where or why, only that he was gone. And, he took a part of her with him. Now six years later she works for Travis, Nothing But Trouble’s manager. Only she doesn’t deal with their band. She has managed to keep herself distanced from Landon. Until now. They haven’t been face to face for six years, until now! She should run, not walk, away from him but she can’t.
“She was everything I’d ever wanted. She was exactly what I’d never deserve.”
Landon has been on a wild ride since their band hit it big. But, no matter how much money he makes, no matter how many women he sleeps with, there has always been that missing piece until Piper was standing in front of him and that missing piece clicked right back into place. It was her that had been missing all these years.
“I’d grown a thick skin early in life, and the only one who’d ever gotten under it, burrowing way down deep, was the woman in front of me.”
“Piper deserved a great guy – and that wasn’t me. I could give her a great night, maybe more than one. But I couldn’t give her a future. Not the kind that ended well.”
Both Piper and Landon had unresolved darkness in their pasts. Both were keeping secrets. Six years ago, they weren’t much more than kids. They really hadn’t gotten to know each other that well. Now they had a second chance. But even as secrets are slowly revealed, can either of them truly move forward? Can Piper forgive Landon for walking away the first time?
“How could I have been so wrong? I needed to know him. The rock star and the wounded boy. The loner. The legend. Landon Cox was all of those things. And then some.”
This was such a beautiful book. Landon may have been a bad boy but he stole my heart. And when this man falls, he really falls. They had both dealt with so much pain and I wanted so badly for them to find happiness. Tara Leigh has such a beautiful way of writing. Even the sexy times are beautiful. I could not put this book down, and when I was forced to, I was thinking about it. And that epilogue! It was amazing! You can read this as a stand alone, but it would mean even more to you if you read the first book, Rock King, first. Then you can get the lead singer, Shane, and Delaney’s story since they do appear in this book. Delaney is Piper’s best friend. So I loved getting glimpses into their now happy life.
I also hope you’ll take a moment and read Tara’s acknowledgments and the Author’s Note at the end. Both moved me. This was a beautiful book, a wonderful second chance romance. I hope you’ll love it as much as I did.
“You deserve the world, Landon Cox.”
“You are my world, Piper Hastings.”
ROCK LEGEND is the second installment in Tara Leigh’s Nothing but Trouble series and I have to admit that this story may have surpassed ROCK KING in my heart…sorry Shane and Delaney but you all need to move over because Landon and Piper have totally taken over!
In all honesty when I first met Piper in ROCK KING I wasn’t a fan of her character because I thought she was a stuck up little b*tch to my girl Delaney, but by the end of that book I loved her and was super excited when I found out her and Landon were getting a story! Oh and did I mention it was going to be a second chance romance?! You all may know that just happens to be one of my favorite kind of stories to read because who doesn’t love second chances…
Landon Cox is the drummer of one of the hottest rock bands, Nothing but Trouble. This man right here has officially made it impossible for me to look past the drummer ever again. He might not be prince charming, but my heart still swoons just thinking about him. Landon had a trouble past and he felt that he didn’t deserve happiness. He’s a tortured soul and my heart wept for him time and time again, and although he frustrated me at times because of his alcohol and drug abuse, I couldn’t look down on him because he was broken and he needed someone to help him.
Piper Hastings was a stuck up cheerleader who had it all in high school or did she? Growing up she was never good enough in the eyes of her father even though she did everything she could to be. In college she met Landon and immediately knew he was the one. She finds herself finally blossoming into the woman she always wanted to be. He was the one…or so she thought until he just disappeared from her life without a single warning. Six years later she is working for Travis…who just happens to be the manager of Nothing but Trouble. She has successfully spend to last few years avoiding him at all costs, but suddenly her luck runs out and now she can’t get him off of her mind.
Landon and Piper are both flawed and broken character, but together they are absolutely PERFECT for each other. After reading this story I couldn’t have seen them with anyone else because they truly complete one another!
Readers make sure to pick up your copy of ROCK LEGEND right this second and prepare yourself for a wild and bumpy ride because Landon and Piper’s story is just that and so much more! Now I cannot freaking wait until the release of ROCK REBEL, the third installment in the Nothing but Trouble series!
Landon’s and Piper’s story gutted me!!! These two had a love/hate relationship I could only hope that they would come up for air and see what they have. I knew that Piper had many reasons to stay away. Tara Leigh will not give you a typical rock romance. THE FEELS YOU GET! I was whole heartily invested with this story. I felt every emotion that Tara wants you to feel. You get hope, but can feel insecure. You get the love, but then the doubts. I laughed so hard then cried so hard. I loved hard on Landon, then cursed his name. Yeah I became a mad woman with this book.
Rock Legend was unexpected. It was breath of fresh air. I just have to say WOW! I felt this story down to my bones. At the end of the story, I was crying and smiling at the same time. Then I was hit with Tara’s message with her author notes. It hits home for me. I loved book one, but astounded with book two. I am excited for book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble series!
Love, love, loved this rock star, second-chance romance! I highly recommend it.
WOW!! I loved, loved, loved Rock Legend by Tara Leigh, book two in her Nothing But Trouble series. Ms. Leigh created a wonderful and emotional story between two people growing up with troubled pasts, one in foster care until adopted and the other feeling she needed to be perfect to be loved.
After a six year separation, Landon and Piper were given a second chance to repair what went wrong with their prior relationship. Landon needed to get his act together and control the sex, drugs and alcohol he used to disguise his loneliness and desire for Piper, before and after their run in at a Nothing But Trouble concert. He really needed to curb his self-destructive behavior and stop running away when things go wrong. Piper suffered from the perception that she had to be perfect to be worthy of love. What she learns is that no one is perfect and it’s okay to make mistakes and still be loved. Landon and Piper are truly a match made in heaven and hell as they lead one another on a roller coaster journey before being able to accept and give love.
Ms. Leigh wrote a wonderful and emotional story that drew me into her book and the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. I had trouble putting this book down, turning page after page, not letting go until I turned the last page, still wanting more and really looking forward to the next book in this series. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
“Want to know the difference between a legend and a fairy tale? Only on of them ends happily ever after.”
This book was AMAZING! I honestly cannot put into words how wonderful it was. It definitely deserves more than 5 stars.
Piper is an employee for Nothing But Trouble’s manager. Her only job with the band so far has been taking care of Delaney, Shane’s girlfriend, and that is just how Piper likes it! She definitely doesn’t want to attend their concerts or come in contact with the sexy drummer. Been there, done that!
Landon is the drummer for Nothing But Trouble. He walked away from everybody in his life 6 years ago to fulfill his dream and that included Piper.
Will Piper give Landon a second chance, or will she keep things strictly professional?
Piper was a perfectionist. She follows the rules, plays it safe, and does everything asked of her. She is trying to prove her worth to everyone and the task can be very daunting.
Landon is a troubled man who is punishing himself for his past. He is unwilling to let himself be happy because he doesn’t believe he deserves it.
This story brought out the emotions in a beautiful tale about love and healing. Landon and Piper’s love for each other was apparent from the first page, and they both proved to be unselfish in their love for one another. They would do anything as long as the other person was happy. I also love the friendships in this series. This group of friends have overcome so much and their support never falters.
I cannot wait to see what Tara has in store for Dax’s story.
-An ARC was generously provided in exchange for an honest review.-
I have to say I am loving the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. In Rock Legend we get an emotional, touching and heartbreaking second chance romance. So far, this is my favorite! I devoured Landon and Piper’s story.
Landon came from nothing and never expected to be anything. But when the chance of a lifetime happens and he and his friends hit it big, he grabs it with both hands. But in doing so, he lost the woman he loved. Piper thought Landon was the one for her. But then he was gone and never really knew why. Now they are back in each other’s lives. Is this a second chance or is it already too late for them?
Landon is your typical rocker. Since hitting it big, he is the bad-boy player with no regrets. But deep in his heart he has one regret. Something that has been missing. Piper was not going to give Landon another chance to break her heart. She was left heartbroken and devastated. But can they truly deny what has always been between them?
Rock Legend by Tara Leigh is an emotional second chance romance, but it one that will keep you turning the pages, even as you want to throw your Kindle. This was a slow burn romance with angst and heartbreak, but the journey is so worthwhile! Though you can technically read Rock Legend as a standalone, it would be a much better experience to read Rock King first. You will not regret it, as it is a great read as well.

Happy reading!
Rock Legend is a stand alone book, part of the Nothing But Trouble series. This was my first time reading a book by this author. I enjoyed reading this book with it’s fast paced style, well done dialogue and well thought out characters who dealt with life’s struggles in fantastic ways.
The plot took us through the life of Landon and Piper. They had a brief love affair during their college years then Landon disappeared with no correspondence back to Piper. They both have demons in their past that color their reactions to the present and shape all their decisions. I enjoyed reading their story. It was a fantastic escape from my reality to jump into Landon’s fancy LA rock star lifestyle and see how he and his bandmates dealt with life.
Characters – Did you like the characters? What did you like about each character? Did you like their story arc?
Landon Cox is a now famous drummer for the band Nothing but Trouble. He’s living the lifestyle of the rich and famous, being a playboy and legend. His past as a foster child taken from his parents shape how he handles relationships. But he’s wondering if there’s more to life than the empty moments before and after his performances. Piper Hastings is working for the PR firm that handles Nothing but Trouble, after having a brief, but bright and intense love with Landon. Now she’s done her best to move on with a new boyfriend…but her childhood also wasn’t picture perfect. Together their baggage causes numerous struggles they have to overcome.
Landon may be a rock god (or legend), but it was nice to see him have to work for it with Piper…even after we found out they shared some time together previously. He needed more than groupie love. And she needed him to make some personal changes…but despite all that, they share a bond and heat up the sheets…and pool…and other surfaces. Landon’s confident rocker swagger; Piper’s reluctant desire for the former love, they both intertwine to make a steamy romance novel!
This was a fast paced book, full of twists and turns that kept me reading to see what shenanigans would happen next! The surprises were always coming and were fantastic. Not being any sort of musical anything, I love jumping into the world of someone so different from my own. I love when the characters pull stunts and “billionaire book boyfriend” antics. I was absorbed in Landon and Piper’s story; they were not only great characters, but their backstory was fantastic, their bandmates provided needed moments of seriousness and levity and friendship, family gave reasons for actions, and the setting itself provided both ups and downs. The author did a great job of incorporating every day struggles as well as things specific to the musicians and their industry.
Since this was book two, I want to go back and find book one and read about Delaney and Shane to learn even more about this band of musicians and friends. I love to delve into the stories of a whole group of friends/family like this series will provide. Another high note to this book was that it provided a Epilogue to the story, and gives a great finish and send off for the characters so you not only get a quick happy ending to wrap up all the details, the reader is graced with a look into the future. Those are some of my favorite things in books.

What happens when you choose fame and fortune over the love of your life ? You get six years of agonizing regret which was all that Landon Cox was left with when walked away from Piper Hastings. Can two damaged people fight their way through their issues in order to make their relationship work? Reading Rock King, I can honestly I wasn’t awed by either Landon or Piper but, in this book we are able to see beyond the facade that both characters portray to the world and see the real them. What I loved the most about this book Piper and her issues are completely authentic. On the outside Piper is perfect but inside , she’s like so many of us feel like we aren’t enough. I absolutely loved this book it was sad, sweet and transformative. I’m dying to get my hands on the next book in this series!!!
Landon is a walking heartbreak. A playboy with a rocker image, but a lonely heart. Piper was a ray of light in his otherwise dark world. When people continuously treat you like nothing, eventually you start to believe it’s true. In a world where image is everything, is it possible to show others the man behind the bad boy image? Leigh is not afraid to expose life at it’s most painful. There is more beauty in the hard moments. Only then does strength of character and heart show. Rock Legend is a journey though pain, self-doubt, destruction and survival. Landon and Piper take a road trip through hell to find out what heaven really means. A love sonnet perfectly in tune with the heart.
“Fame and fortune. Hollywood Hills and chemically induced thrills.”
Wow! I really enjoyed Landon & Piper’s story! Rock Legend is book #2 in the Nothing But Trouble series. It can be read as a stand-alone. Rock God, (book #1) is Shane & Delaney’s story. Rock Legend is a definite building block in the Nothing But Trouble series.
Landon Cox is the ‘legendary’ drummer for the world famous band – Nothing But Trouble. He has the 3 C’s – cocky, cool and confident. Being a drummer allows him to burn through all of his chaotic thoughts. Sex and booze is his alternative coping mechanism, thus earning him his ‘legendary’ status.
“Most people know me as the drummer for Nothing but Trouble. Depending who you ask, I’m also a playboy, a loner, the life of the party, a screw-up, or according to my fans, “The Sexiest Rock Star on the Planet.” Apparently, I’m a legend.”
Piper Hastings grew up trying to be perfect. We first meet her in Rock God as Delaney’s friend from back home – New York. Piper has many reasons for needing to be perfect. This propelled her to LA for college and then work. Piper is a public relations assistant for one of the hottest talent managers in Hollywood who also represents Nothing But Trouble.
Piper and Landon have history. Six years ago Landon had to choose. His career or Piper. For reasons that are explained (no spoilers) he choose his career. Landon has no idea that Piper works for his talent manager Travis Taggert. Piper has been able to avoid Landon until one night she couldn’t….
“After six years, how would Landon taste?”
“Like regret, I realized with a sickening thud. Because regret is all that remained of what we once shared.”
Talk about a moment! Landon is stunned to see Piper. He thinks about the girl he left behind six years ago…
“Six years ago, I traded Piper’s intimate whispers for center-stage drum solo’s, her dazzling smiles for the anonymous adoration of a million faceless fans.”
Piper and Landon take us on an emotional journey filled with second chances, fear, poor self-esteem, insecurities, self-loathing, lust, and mistakes. So many mistakes! In many ways each of them feel as if they are not good enough for the other. While Piper often feels rejected, Landon feels as if he is not enough. They each cope in their own ways.
“Seeing Piper again after all this time was all it took to strip away the elaborate pretense I fooled myself into believing- that I was doing fine without her.
I wasn’t.”
Just when you think things are ok, they’re not. Life happens and many situations occur. In the end, it’s how they handle the situations that will matter. Rock Legend was everything and more! The buildup was steady and the emotions real. Piper and Landon share great chemistry! I knew Landon would be a handful and I was not disappointed! I am enjoying the Nothing But Trouble series. Although each story is a stand-alone, reading Rock God (book #1) helps set the scene. Each one gets better and better!
Looking forward to Dax & Verity’s story in Rock Rebel!

Rock Legend is book 2 in the Nothing but Trouble Series and I have to say Landon and Piper’s story blew me away, I really enjoyed Rock King but after reading this book I have become a drummer groupie. Landon and Piper have a past he walked away 6 years ago without even a goodbye and she believed that it was something she had done little did she know it was all to do with the group not her at all. Landon’s past is something he try’s to forget a child of addicts and a product of the system he was never expected to make anything of himself so becoming the drummer for the hit group Nothing But Trouble means the world to him and the group became his family and that means doing what ever is needed for them even walking away from Piper.
Fast forward 6 years and Piper is back in his life because she works for Travis the bands manger but up until now she has covered his other clients meaning Landon never knew she was close by following his career from a distance. Will this time around be any different for the couple with so many secrets ……..
This bad boy drummer stole a piece of my heart and I shed a tear or two as we found out just what secrets he is hiding about his past, it made me understand why he became the bad boy of rock and roll. Both Piper and Landon have so much pain in their life but together they can become strong if they only open up to each other. Sizzling chemistry, history and trying to resolve the past at the wrong times makes these two getting their HEA difficult but where there’s a will there a way and sometimes fate steps in and gives us a hand. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I think you would get so much more out of this book if you read Rock King first. What can I say about the epilogue!!!! Apart from you need to read this book. Beautifully written love story and I can’t wait for more from the boys of Nothing But Trouble and Tara Leigh.
Rock Legends are Nothing But Trouble! Take Landon, for instance, he is deep into the rockers’ life which means he plays his drums, lives on booze and drugs, and takes his groupies to bed in threes.
He has a horrific past, he has made more than his shares of mistakes, and this life is his way to numb out the pain and guilt. Deep down, he wants a family to love and who will love him. But, since that is something he does not trust himself to cherish and protect, he steers away from it.
Piper and Landon were a HOT item years ago. And then one day, he disappeared from her life without even a phone call or a note. Now as Piper works for the band PR Manager, she has been careful to avoid running into Landon at all cost. He was the “one” for her. Nevertheless, she continually reminds herself of what he has made of his life. She is no groupie and being dumped again would be devastating.
There is a lot going on in this book. These characters have to come to grips with their pasts and the choices they have made. Guilt is the resounding undercurrent and dealing with it is the crux of this plotline. “Nothing worth keeping is easy.” Both have to grow up, accept themselves, and learn to fight for what they want in life. This is a moving and sometimes thrilling journey you will not want to miss. Accepting yourself as you are can be the most difficult thing in life you can accomplish.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I thank the author for sharing this book with me.

And Piper – we already met her in the first book too. She’s working for the band’s PR Agency.
Six years ago, at college, she was very happy in love with a guy. And that guy later decided against her and their love by choosing his rock star career. Now he’s the drummer for Nothing But Trouble.
Poor Piper tries to stay away from the band by handling other clients, but it’s not easy. She’s friends with the singer’s girlfriend and after a concert she finally comes face to face with Landon again.
Landon is shocked to see her. He missed her like crazy. But she’s better off without him and troubles.
But maybe they should hook up again to get them out of each other’s systems?
But then, after one of Landon’s drunk nights, Piper’s boss sends her to be Landon’s ‘babysitter’.
And the old feelings are still there … but also all their past and current problems …
What will happen with Piper and Landon?
Will there be a Happy End???

#ROCKSTARROMANCE!!!!

Eeep! I’m the biggest rockstar romance fan ever!
And this was another very adorable and sexy and heartbreaking one!
A possible second chance at love and a happily ever after for our darling drummer Landon.
He’s a bit of a manwhore. Just a lil’ bit 😉
But Piper is the one that he let get away six years ago. And he regretted it ever since. Even though he knows that she’s better off without him. Poor guy.
He has a lot of stuff to work through until he can ride off into his happy end sunset with Piper!
Piper has a lot to work and think through too.
And we adore (almost) every moment of that journey!
A tiny little thing I didn’t love-love? The book was basically done a little after the 50% mark. We could’ve stopped with a happy end. But then more things happen. They should’ve / could’ve happened a bit sooner, that way it wouldn’t have divided the book into two halves. Now it’s basically a 2-part book. Which was totally ok – I still loved the whole story and all the people in it! But it could’ve been done/written a tiny little bit differently.
But the book was a really great second-chance rock star romance with some very sad and moving and some sexy and adorable moments!!
And now I can’t wait to see what Dax & Verity will have to tell us in their book!
ROCK LEGEND was a really adorable & heartbreaking second-chance Rock Star Romance! Hurry to your nearest amazon – Landon will be sold out in no time!!!
Another great rock romance on the guys from Nothing But Trouble! The second book of the series is Landon’s story who happens to be the drummer of the group. Landon is the “Legend” not only for his mad drumming skills but also by being a “legend” onto all the women he beds. (the man has mad skills with that as well)
Before Landon the legend hit it big Nothing But Trouble was playing to bars and clubs but was given a chance at hitting it big. The only problem back then was that after being called to a meeting they were given an ultimatum with board a plane that very minute and leave the cell phones behind or they were being dropped… The guys knew this was their one chance of hitting it big especially with the backing they were getting so they all left without a word to anyone. The only problem at that time was that Landon had a woman he was falling in love with and he had no way of contacting her to let her know that he wouldn’t be coming back after his meeting. Piper thought the only thing she could…he walked out on her leaving her heart broken. Years later and the two finally meet again and with everything they both have had to deal with growing up it was hard to see that this second chance would ever work out.
I loved Landon and Piper’s story because it was full of surprises and a chemistry that was hot as h*ll. The childhoods they both had was sad and you wondered how they ever could come back and really be a functioning couple with any hope of a future. This series hasn’t lost a step…it started off great with book 1 and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Leigh will give us in the next book of their series.
