I’m all for the girl power and sht.Guys are a disaster.Trust me. I know.My rule is fck a guy only once, then move on to the next one.I’m Josephine Poet. The Rock Fck Club reality TV show is no different from my real life. Only there’s cameras rolling, and they’re offering me a ton of cash. The money and publicity are just what Joey’s Band needs. A means to an end for a bad girl who knows how to … to an end for a bad girl who knows how to rock but isn’t looking for anything good.
But what happens when wrong and right collide?
It’s naughty versus nice in Rock Fck Club’s Season Three.
What could go wrong?

Jo Poet is the newest girl to RFC. She is doing this so her band family can get exposure and hopefully a record deal. Jo has so many layers and depth that she trying to keep her soft center from being damaged any further by life. Gale has been knocked down by life in the past two years, even fame couldn’t protect him from the pit of despair he found himself in. After slowing digging himself out he felt Jo would be the perfect girl for him, except she doesn’t do relationship and just joined the RFC. Gale is the quintessential renaissance man that I need in my life.
Gale and Jo were broken people that only Mankin can make you fall in love with. Mankin can make one dimensional I hate them, to dang I did not see that coming three dimensional people you root for. Great secondary characters I can’t wait to see get their own stories.
This is hands down my favorite of the series, I’ve loved all the ones prior but Jo and Gale hooked me and tugged at my heart strings till I melted. They are both drowning in darkness and are barely keeping a float, basically going through life on autopilot but become each other’s balm even though they fight it cause of everything in the way. I loved how Gale truly was her cheerleader lol.
I voluntarily reviewed a advanced readers copy of this book
Book #5 in this series took a turn I wasn’t expecting…and I LOVED it!
While the previous RFC stars each had their own agenda by signing on, Jo’s participation started out as just a way to earn money and gain some publicity for her fledgling girl band. What she got out of it was way more than she bargained for.
Josephine’s Story was filled with loss, sorrow, guilt and regret but ended on a high note of love, healing and acceptance.
With the love and support of a man that understood her on a level no one else could, she found her place. In the world as a whole as well as her position in the band and the music world.
The RFC series has been one amazing ride, with a lot of ups and downs and an emotional whirlwind love, sadness, and chemistry. Josephine and Gale have both been through a lot of trauma in their lives. I can’t get enough of the raw feelings in this story! Jo is tough, but that toughness came at a price. And Gale was perfect for her – he was so awesome. Another fantastic addition to this hot reality show romance series!
Jo is a tough as nails woman and the next girl power for the third season of Rock F*ck Club. Problem is she’s met Gale and he is able to capture not only her heart but relate to her like nobody else. Oh boy! here we go with the ten rock stars Jo is contracted to be with for the season. Gale is dealing with the loss of a loved one just like Jo. I have loved reading this series.
This book was probably more hot than any of the others so far, at least for me. We got really risque and definitely much different experiences before. You see Jo is in a girl band. And Jo and the girls are into guys, but also at times a little into girls. And it works out for the best because then Jo is able to fulfill her own RFC requirements with some help from her friends in different ways. Although I still keep counting on my fingers and seem to only find 9 people not 10. Hmm. Maybe a re-read will be needed? Which is fine, the steamy scenes in this were as steamy as can be! I feel like in this one, we really got the main character taking charge of her sex life. With no regrets, other than maybe one of the times, and well that had more to do with her past than the actual experience. Jo had a pretty intense past. And the more I learned about her life, the more I was able to understand her love of the book Wuthering Heights, which I can’t stand, but I guess I can get why someone with a hard life might identify or enjoy it more than I did. And then there is Gale. I adore him, and he was perfect for Jo. Even with the one secret she kept that caused him to have to take a step back and think on his own past, they really were a match made in heaven. The author doesn’t keep us from losing characters that we know and like, once again there is a loss in this book. A kind of big one. Now, I don’t know if there will be more books in this series, but if there are, I started making a list as I read about who I think should get to star next on the reality tv show Rock F*ck Club!
I give this 4.5*.
This is my favorite story in the series. Jo and Gale’s story was beautiful, emotional and scorching hot. Jo agrees to be the next RFC star to help get publicity for her band. Jo is strong and protective and will do anything for the people she loves but at the same time she is punishing herself for something that happened in her past and she thinks she is unworthy of love. An encounter with Gale and the chemistry is instant and he is intrigued and he wants to help Jo for he two is grieving from a tragedy in his past. I love when two broken souls come together and heal each other. I loved this story and enjoyed reading Jo and Gale’s story.
I received an ARC and volunteered to leave a review.
In this book Josephine Poet signs on as the new RFC star around the same time she meets Gale. This story was about so much more than just Rockstars. It was about two people who had gone through such sadness and loss, that it was heartbreaking to read at times. Jo and Gale were both struggling to overcome the pain from their pasts but the connection they found together was what made them feel alive again. “Two imperfect souls making their way in an imperfect world.”
Rockin’ in the Band and the Bed
We are on to the next star of the Rock F*ck Club and the drummer/lead singer of Joey’s Band, Jo, who needs the money in order to help her band take the step. It’s ok with her since she usually just does one and dones because she doesn’t let her wall down long enough for anyone to know what’s going on in her head and heart. That is only for her best friends and bandmates to see. Jo is such a damaged soul do to events that have happened throughout her life.
Gale is also damaged but is now trying to put his heart back out there when he meets Jo. There is such a connection between these two but with their past it may be impossible to take a chance and let someone affect their hearts. Gale thinks that Jo is worth the risk but it’s trying to get Jo to see that Gale is worth it also. There are so many secrets between these two but it’s the connection they have that have you cheering for these them.
As with the rest of the books in this series this book is a 5* for me because of the way Ms. Mankin definitely knows how to bring the steam and the story full force in your face. This is a book that you stay up until 2 am just to finish. She did an excellent job of touching on some pretty intense subjects and does it with style and class.
This book gave me all the feels and I want more!!! My favorite by far! Love this series
Holy WOW! I don’t even know where to start with Rock F*ck Club #5. I was so very eager for Gale’s story and I’m ecstatic I got it. Before this one, I would have said #3 was my fav. But now I’m all about Gale and Jo!!
Let’s start with Jo. MMankin kept her mysterious. We knew and/or learned enough about her to understand she was fiercely loyal to those she loves. We also knew she was a fighter, a survivor, and a resilient young woman. But there was that something she wouldn’t share. I adored her anyway!
Gale. Sigh. That reminds me – Gale LeSigh. LOL So we know he’s been through some heavy stuff. Losing his wife and baby – I can’t fathom. That’s why I knew it meant something profound when he sought out Jo. Gale is one hot rocker for sure but he’s also intelligent, compassionate, and his loyalty to those he loves rivals Jo’s. I was swooning right along with Jo as he fought to win her trust and her heart.
The banter between these two was witty snark. I adored their back-and-forth. They both write music and lyrics for their bands and both sing. You know that in my opinion lyrics are everything. So to have these two pouring their souls into songs and then discussing English literature? They’re my dream couple.
Gale and Jo have some shared experiences in common. Jo’s always handled things by keeping people out. Gale wormed his way into her head and under her skin with his patience and compassion. I liked that they could support each other in such important ways. And I applaud MMankin’s ability to evoke all the emotions they felt through her beautiful prose.
RFC has taken a backseat in my review so far. I admired Jo’s reasoning for agreeing to do this show. But maybe she was a bit naive going in? I say that mostly because she thought she could keep emotion out of the equation and sex doesn’t work that way, in my opinion. I liked the angle she took though in fulfilling her contract. Her second hookup was off the charts hot! And her final one was so perfect. I admire how MMankin goes about making sure these girls meet their obligations but stay true to themselves and the RFC mantra – their body, their choice.
I have to point out one more time how much I appreciated the English literature references. Even Jo’s bandmates had changed their last names with nods to great literature. Wuthering Heights isn’t my favorite – too dreary 😉 – but it’s high on the list. Kudos to MMankin for those details.
There’s so much I loved about Gale and Jo’s story, I could honestly wax poetic for a long while. I feel like MMankin outdid herself with Rock F*ck Club #5. The characters are all engaging, the romance so poignant, and the shocking events…it was all a visceral experience. And I can’t wait to see what happens in the next season.
Let me start off with this: bring tissues, lots and lots of tissues. This book is full of pain, agony, more pain, with a side of – let me see – more pain. It’s one hit after another and they just don’t ever end, period. And I loved every pain drenched moment of it, well, almost every moment.
See, Rush happens to be my favorite band and Neil Peart is my favorite drummer. And yes, Anthem is based on Rush and Gale is a Neil Peart/Geddy Lee hybrid. And as a fan, reading Gale’s story only reminded me sharply of Neil’s own losses – his wife and daughter – and his subsequent motorcycle tour of North America. And it heightened the emotion for me because, as a fan, I was devastated for him (Neil) and believed my favorite band was done. So yeah, this was a super hard book to read because Gale and Neil were almost inseparable in my mind (The price of fandom!).
But Gale is not Neil and Gale’s story is heartbreaking in its own right. The tragedy of it is only made more clear as the book continues. I loved Gale and I loved seeing him work through his emotions to come out the other side. I didn’t like his pushiness so much though. I really felt he needed to back off a bit with Jo.
And Jo, if you thought Gale’s story was heartbreaking, well Jo’s is worse, by oh, a factor of 100 at least. I mean seriously, that girl needs a whole boatload of counseling and she isn’t getting it. Plus, the events are just horror piled on top of horror. Somehow she comes out of it all fragile but standing and having learned to be super careful with people and with where she places her trust. Her life philosophy is 100% understandable. I liked her and I was definitely rooting for her.
There is some extra pain toward the end of this, and what I considered to be a Metallica moment. But, I can’t be sure. What I can be sure of is this is a tearjerker from start to finish. Despite that, I feel like it’s just a bit unfinished and I suspect we’ll get a novella later with Gale and Jo.
I’m looking forward to the next season of RFC!
An Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was received from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
Rock F*ck Club # 5 is the final book in this series and wraps up the series in a nectarous way. The idea behind the reality show is intriguing. The way the romance is refined is appealing. Character’s are complex with compelling characteristics. Gale & Josephine will tug at your heart. Secrets revealed, unexpected twists, and heap of affection intricately entwined into the narrative. With jaw dropping bombshells, the ending is just satiating.
Michelle has taken us once again on a journey of female empowerment. Of making your own choices without regrets.
I truly can’t say enough about this series. I have loved each one. RFC #5 is my ABSOLUTE favorite to date. I loved this story of love. Loss. And redemption. I HOPE this won’t be the end!
Michelle writes rock stars like no other! All the feels! I highly recommend this book (and the whole series).
I love this series! This one is the steamiest for sure, but full of emotion. These books are must-reads!
Where do I start….book 5 of RFC is amazing. It gave me all the feels. I laughed, cried and swooned while wishing the ride would never end. There is so much depth in this book, so much more than just a rock and roll love story. I love this series and author. I hope there is more to come but this book is going to be hard to top. Don’t miss this series, it’s greatness.
I received an ARC for my honest review.
This series is amazing! It’s full of secrets and twists and full-on girl power! The whole series the RFC girls are bad ass and continue to grow stronger throughout the series. This series show that no one is perfect but we are all perfectly one! Rock on and enjoy the series!!!
I’m in love with Gale; totally and completely in love. He pissed me off for about 5 chapters, but I just consider that our first fight and I forgave him! And I think Jo is the strongest RFC yet, although it was a hard call with Marsha and Raven as predecessors. Loved them all! So strong, so focused, so bad ass!
OH MY GOSH !!!!
I Blinkin LOVED this story….Number 5 in The Rock F*ck club series, which I think I adore the most.
Two broken character that you will just fall in love with ,Jo and Gale are just perfect for one another ,but falling in Love has many complications and they are met with many hurdles to get over.
This is an emotionally compelling highly erotic ,sexy Superb read, and I absolutely loved every single page I could not get enough.
Michelle Mankin has really out done herself with book 5,it is just brilliant and I would highly recommend this series to anyone who LOVES Gorgeous rockstars and Strong female rock chicks.
5 Grammy style musical stars from me.
WOW – I can’t get over this one – this was by far the best in the series to date – I thought that 4 kept me on the edge of my seat, but damn this one knocked me right the F*CK OFF!! Multiple times in fact. The emotions that are drawn out of you from this book, man, I can’t even say roller coaster because that would be too tame. Losing your breath crying!!
Jo and Gale both have gone through something so awful – it crushed both of them. They both have been struggling for quite a while to find their way out of the darkness from losing loved ones. Jo has also has other things she has had to try and recover from as well and all of these combined are what make her feel she is not worthy of anything especially love. She will not allow her self to get close to anyone – it even took a a while to get close to her best friends. But when Gale sees her in the crowded auditorium at an AA meeting he is completely drawn to her, zeroing in right on her.
From this point Gale makes it very hard for Jo to not see him, to not know he is there for her. They are both completely drawn to each. You could feel their connection jump off the pages. Jo tries so hard to keep her distance but she still finds herself wanting to be around him
The road they travel to finally come together is heartbreakingly beautiful with all of its ups and downs. It will leave you with so many emotions rolling around. This installment was so wonderfully done in all aspects!!
