This book fives you all the feels . It is beautifully written and keeps you on the edge of your seat wanting more. You will also need a box of tissues. don’t worry the ending will leave your heart smiling.
Favorite quote: Jo ~ “When you’d lost everything, including faith in yourself, the hardest thing was finding a reason—any reason—to go on. Music was my reason. Music and the words that went with it were my saving grace.”
***5 Stars***
I’m emotionally drained.
Not that it comes as a surprise. All of the books in the RFC series have been emotionally trying in one way or another. Nor is it a bad thing because all it means is that I was invested ~ even if it was at the detriment to my sanity ~ and boy was I ever invested.
Josephine and her Man did me in. I loved and adored them, but they did a number on my heart. The guilt, grief and fear that rolled off of them was almost suffocating at times, but they both found ways to keep going. Not all were the best of ways, but they did end up finding each other and I loved how they just flowed when they were just Josephine and ‘him’. They put each other through a lot, but from the moment I saw them collide in RFC #4, I knew they were it for each other.
I was told by the author to ‘hold on to my lei’ before diving in, not that I needed to be told considering how crazy RFC #3 left me, but a reminder is always welcome when heading into this world. It’s raw, dark, smexy, heartbreaking and yet makes my heart swoon even when I’m growling at the characters and the choices that they end up making. But it’s real. So if you like rockstar romances with a whole bunch of angst and a lot of heart then this one is definitely for you!.
Note: You can read this as a stand-alone BUT I do recommend starting at the beginning to get the full impact of all that has happened up to this point because each book does impact the others.

This book has it all! Secrets, half truths, trauma, guilt, angst, heartache, a great storyline that keeps you turning the pages, fantastic characters, a chemistry that the hero and heroine have that leaps off the page; where you can feel the sexual tension between them and you can’t wait to see if anything will come of it. RFC was raw, edgy, and unpredictable… unique and emotional. I absolutely loved the RFC series, but now, my problem is I need more.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This book is about surviving. Surviving the past and what is what come in the future. Joe and Gale are both surviving the their heartbreak from the past. Together they make themselves whole.
Okay, I have been reading the RFC series since book 1…let me say that this one was the most emotional yet freeing book yet! The characters broke me and shattered my heart. I was afraid with Jo’s mind frame that it would never be put back together. Gale also gutted me. Mankin went on a whole new level with the RFC series, episode three.
Jo and Gale are beautiful yet broken souls. I almost forgot what Josephine’s mission was. I was begging her to tear up that contract! But in the end, the journey is what got us to the breaking point. These characters had to work out their demons before they could move on.
Enough of the sappy stuff, lol! There is a lot, and I mean a lot, of steamy/jaw dropping moments. This book HAS IT ALL!!!! I love this series <3
Holy Smokes! This book was so hot it dang near killed me! Whew! Jo is the absolute epitome of a tortured rock star in the making, and is so perfect for what the RFC is meant to do. Gale is fabulous, and I want him for myself. I very much enjoyed reading this book, and Jo’s journey to self-discovery, realizing her band and brother’s dreams, and finding true love in unexpected ways. I’m really hoping for a Season 4 for RFC, and seeing more of these fantastic characters.
I have fallen head over heals for the hero in this book! The way he builds Jo up and doesn’t let her fall! They are each other’s safe place; their rock in the storm! Why am I keeping mum? Because you have to experience this love first hand! You have to go through this journey with Jo from beginning to end in order to understand the depths of their relationship!
Nothing in life comes easy and love isn’t love without the pain! These two characters are living proof that even through all the pain the one thing that can bring you back is love! The love of friends, the love of “family” and the love of a soul who knows you even better than you know yourself! Mankin keeps pulling surprises and raises the bar with each of these novels! I have found so much love in the pages and though they may see derogatory they are far from! The Rock F*ck club is about woman empowerment and taking back control as well as finding yourself along the way!
