Jet McAlister has a secret. Eddie Chavez has the hots for Jet (not to mention Eddie’s just plain hot). Jet has too many problems to realize that Eddie’s interested. Eddie loses patience when Jet ends her waitressing shift at a strip club with a knife at her throat. Since Eddie’s a cop, he figures he can help. Since Jet’s used to solving everyone’s problems she doesn’t want Eddie’s help.Throw in a … help.
Throw in a Dolly Parton look-alike, a gruff but lovable strip club owner, Jet’s ne’er do well father, his ne’er do well friend, Bear, Bear’s long-suffering, chain-smoking wife Lavonne and the crew from Rock Chick and you’ve got Rock Chick Rescue.
Rock Chick Rescue takes you on a wild ride with Jet, Eddie and the gang as they wrestle bad guys in a bagel shop, hit Denver’s backstreet poker tables (with big hair), and help the strippers at Smithie’s take down a would-be murderer.
Through this, Jet’s got to learn that even when life made you give up your dreams, you can still end up with the (hot) guy. Eddie’s got to rescue Jet from a bad man (so he can do better things with her) and teach her that some dreams can come true.

This entire book was made by Jet’s internal monologue and the random “eeks” or “sheeshs” she would make. I have never read another book that cracked me up so much as this one did from the little comments like that. Not sure if it is just a me thing but I make little comments like that all the time so actually hearing them acted out in the narration really elevated the story for me.
Jet McAlister was everything I adore in a heroine. She was hilarious, feisty, protective and above all else strong. Faced with so many decisions from pretty much the start of the book she did everything that she could to protect the people she loved even if it meant putting herself in danger. At times I did get a bit annoyed with how little she thought of herself, but we have all been there before, so I was happy to let that slide. Also, who the heck calls their lady bits a “do-da”??
Eddie Chavez was the alpha hero we love in a typical Kristen Ashley book, but I do feel like he was a bit softer at times compared to some of the others. On the side of him being softer he was also more possessive which kind of rubbed me wrong but then again it always does. Jet standing up to him though really was hilarious because she really thought it would make a difference. In the end though I adored him so much, but Lee still has my heart.
It was good to be back in the world of chaos with all these characters but especially Indy, Lee, Mace *drool* and Tex. That Tex killed me when he would call Jet “loopy Lou” because it was so accurate! She was loopy as hell through a good portion of the book, but it was refreshing. I like quirky characters, and nobody quite does a quirky character like KA.
Susannah Jones did such a beautiful job with narration. After a couple of hours, I was able to decipher exactly which character was talking and that is a big thing for me. If it is just going to be one narrator, then I want a clear distinction between the at least the two main characters if not more so. No complaints from me on the audio, I believe she did book one with Indy as well which was hard at first not thinking of Indy but that was more of a me thing then a narrator thing.
Oh my gosh I wanted to kill Jet. She already had like a million people trying to but I would have gotten the job done. It was the refusing to believe the guy liked and wanted to be in a relationship with you for me. Like if it would have been for a chapter or two okay were all insecure I understand. Girl the whole book. What saved the book for me was all the side characters. Like my favorite Daisy was there and we had Indy and Lee. And of course my most favorite character of all Tex. The plot was ok. I wasn’t a fan of the very end of the book. Other than that it was enjoyable and entertaining.
I adore Eddie and Jet!
This story is full of feisty, sassy, fiery, people, and the chemistry is sparking all over the place!
There is action, a ton of action, love, friendship, dedicated people, loyalty, and so much more, all swirling around the maelstrom that is Eddie and Jet as they fight their connection and embrace it in equal turns.
This story made me smile, made me swoon, had me giggling, and had me wishing for my own group of Rock Chicks and Hot Bunch.
I am sure you’ll adore it too!
The Rock Chick series is by far this author’s best–be sure to read them in order, they are hilarious.
I have read almost all of this authors books, I’ve had all the Rock Chick books but for some reason I had not picked them up to read.
Eddy and Jet story was quite entertaining, held me from start to finish!! Jet was rather frustrating but Eddy helped with that!! On to the next one!!
~ Eddie & Jet ~
Eddie is one of my favorites of the Hot Bunch. First, I love his dark skin. Second, I love his occupation. Third, I love how he slips into Spanish when he is frustrated or passionate. Oh, and of course, he’s hot!
I also love how Jet and Eddie get their start. I love the misunderstanding and how that whole scene plays out.
I also love how shy Jet starts out. And it’s awesome to see her come into her own Rock Chick as the story progresses. She still has that shyness at the core of her, but she is no longer this meek, timid person, and I love watching that, just as the Hot Bunch did!
Audiobook edit: I’ve read this series so many times, but listening to it in audio is a whole different experience. I love this narrator. She really brings the craziness of the Rock Chicks to life. As for Eddie and Jet, so freaking hot!
Honestly, I can’t say enough about this book (and this series!) even after I have read it sixty times! Hands down, Kristen Ashley writes my favorite books!
Loved the relationships, extremely entertaining, sexy alpha males, lots of hotness, and a solid, detailed story with some action mixed on.
Eddie he was bada** in ‘Rock Chick’ but he’s REAL bada** in ‘Rock Chick Rescue.’ “I’m making it my business,” he told me. “Fair warning, Jet, I’m making you my business.” You can’t help but Eddie he always lays it on Jet, “your normal, average, everyday girl does not work in a strip club. She does not get bizarrely serenaded by her father in a bookstore. She does not transform into a new girl every time she does something to her hair or makeup. And she does not guard every scrap of personal information about her life like it’s a state secret.” Sometimes Jet doesn’t really get the gist of things that’s when Eddie REALLY lays it on her, “I already told you that you were my business but it’s pretty effin’ clear you didn’t understand. I’ve been tryin’ to get your attention for months but you’re so busy and exhausted and whatever the hell else you are, it hasn’t worked. So I’ll say, straight out, so there’s no confusion. I want to spend time with you, I want to get to know you and I want to sleep with you and it doesn’t have to be in that order.” Then there are times when he REALLY REALLY has to give it to her, “before, I was makin’ you my business. Things are different once I sleep with a woman, make her come and intend to do it again. Now you are my business.” Then there are times that I just really love him, “this isn’t a lyin’-in-bed-naked-after-getting-a-gunshot-wound-to-the-head-kind of chat. This is a wide-awake-and-listen-to-Eddie kind of chat.” Kristen has become one of my fave authors to read.
‘Rock chick rescue’ is the second book in the ‘Rock Chick’ series. I would recommend that you read the first book before this one. The story is told from Jet’s (the woman) POV.
We already met Eddie Chavez in the first book ‘Rock Chick’ and I must confess that I was looking forward to his story. ‘Rock chick rescue’ started good (with Jet McAlister being a shy, hardworking woman who’s having a huge crush for the handsome Eddie) but at the end of the book, I (personally) didn’t like Jet that much anymore. Because during the story she became less shy (that wasn’t a problem for me) BUT the ‘attitude’ she was throwing around and the ‘glare(s)’ and the fact that she kept saying to Eddie that “she didn’t like him”. It was becoming all a bit too much for me. And the fact that all the single, alpha men had a crush on her?! I couldn’t really understand it and it bothered me a little bit. (But then again, this is my personal view.)
Sadly, at the end of the story I was even serious doubting if Eddie and Jet were a good couple. I just didn’t fell the chemistry, the attraction between them.
So why do I give this book a 3 star? Well although the romance itself disappointed me I must say that I did enjoy the story itself, it was fluent, there was a lot of things going one. You had the crazy adventures, the crazy friends and the nosy family members. I liked the story but just not the romance.
I will read the next book in the series just because I want to see what other adventures await the Rock Chick girls and the Hot Bunch men.
