“I can be patient if you can be honest.”
I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but…I can’t believe this series is Jen Davis’ writing debut. I stumbled upon the first book in the Cooper Construction series because the cover was so stunning I had to read the synopsis that went with it. I was intrigued and decided to give her a try.
Best decision ever! She’s so damn talented and I can’t get enough of her stories. Her words are smooth as silk and the dialogue is so real it makes me feel like I’m in the room with the characters. Even when they make me blush…sigh.
Robby had my heart in the first story. He’s adorable and irresistible. His nerdiness and sweetness won me over. I had no idea the secrets he was hiding behind his Oxford shirts and his clipboard.
Matt was a loner, he didn’t talk or share himself with his coworkers. Everyone at the construction site was aware of Robby’s crush… but him. I was so excited as I turned each page, waiting for him to finally see Robby and become aware of him beyond his clipboard. I was also very curious to learn about his life and what made him so quiet.
Yeah, I was also very excited to spend more time with Brick & Kane. I fell hard for those two as well. They are such funny alpha assholes now that their women have softened them. The banter among the “chosen family” is very entertaining.
The author did a beautiful job of pulling my heartstrings and giving me the feels as I got to know Robby. She led me into places I wasn’t expecting to visit and opened my eyes to a painful past that I wasn’t prepared for. I’m crushing on him even harder now that I know what his “hopeful heart” has survived.
I’m not sure what the author has in store for me next, but I’ll follow her wherever she leads… hopefully to Xander. The line forms here…
Robby by Jen Davis is book Three in the Cooper Construction Series. This is the story of Robby and Matt. I have read the previous books but feel you can make this a standalone book, the previous characters do intertwine into this book too. If you have been reading the others, then you know Robby is the nerdy young man who helps do the office type work at the construction site, but this book opens up his back story too along with a love interest. Matt has issues of his own and doesn’t know about Robby’s crush or much else going on due to his focus on own personal life and with the job.
Ms. Davis is getting me more hooked on her writing with each book.
I was charmed and heartbroken by Robby and Matt’s story. Robby outwardly is a fun loving, happy, proud man who overcame an ugly past. Matt, on the other hand, is a quiet, shy single father trying to do right by his son. While Robby holds onto some dark secrets, Matt finds himself confiding his to Robby. As they navigate a friendship that becomes romantic, their pasts collide, which causes doubt between them.
I fell fast and hard for the adorable awkwardness between the two men. Their little quirks and nervousness over each other kept me smiling. Through this book, Jen shows us how souls recognize each other long before hearts do.
This is the third book in this phenomenal series, and I have been waiting for Robby’s story, and his crush on Matt, who is totally oblivious to that fact. This is a beautifully written flawless story with realistic characters and plot which pulls at the heartstrings, and is filled with drama, secrets, heartbreak, emotion, witty banter, and is an all round steamy and entertaining read. I look forward to reading more from this exceptionally talented author, and I recommend for all.
Wow this is a story that I’m not sure if i love or hate in this series. Ive always what to know from the first how Robby story would pan out. This is amazing read and i was hooked just not sure on the feelings of this story.
This is the third book in the Cooper’s Construction series and the story of the energetic and mysterious Robby Jordan, the construction former’s assistant. He bombarded his ways into Bricks life and took a place in the friendship zone quickly. His secret crush on Matt was close to stalking at one point but was noticed immediately by Kane and Brick. Robby became stronger after struggling hard to obtain a better life for himself. He wanted acceptance, love, friendship and a family of his own.
Matthew York was a loner. an introvert who has a desire to finish college for architecture but funds was limited due to his financial problems. He worked for Cooper’s Construction as a carpenter. He’s determined to assist his aging mother and take care of his son while maneuvering issues with the child crazy mother. He is unsure of his feelings of difference and struggling to figure out what he really wants until he met Robby.
The author created characters that you can connect with and are true to life. It was nice to read about updated information on previous characters (Kane/Amanda, Brick/Liv). Overall, I loved this series. It’s gripping and consuming and keeps you desiring more. I recommend reading the first two books in this series to see the building friendship between Brick, Kane and Robby.

3.5 Stars
This is a sweet , sad and hot , MM romance with a satisfying HEA.
It a story with a lot of subplots – lots is happening to our heroes Robby and Matt; as both of them have a lot of baggage due to a life full of challenges.
Be aware, deals with topics that will be uncomfortable for some – addiction , abuse – self- harm.
I did not know that this book is part of a series . But don’t feel it affected in me, liking of the story.

ROBBY is the third instalment in Jen Davis’ contemporary, adult COOPER CONSTRUCTION erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work for Cooper Construction. This is foreman’s assistant Robby Jordan, and construction worker /architect student / single father Matt York’s story line. ROBBY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
NOTE: ROBBY contains scenes of M/M sexual situations, as well as reference to abuse, drugs, alcohol and self-harm that may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Robby and Matt) ROBBY follows the building relationship between co-workers foreman’s assistant Robby Jordan, and construction worker /architect student / single father Matt York. Robby Jordan has been attracted to his co-worker for close to a year but single father Matt York is oblivious to Robby’s attraction, as well as his own tempered sexuality. Having always considered himself asexual, but desperate to prove otherwise, Matt’s one and only sexual experience resulted in his now one year old son. Lonely and needing a friend, Matt accepts Robby’s offer for online gaming, an offer that brings the two co-workers closer together. What ensues is the building relationship, romance and love between Matt and Robby, and the potential fall-out as Robby’s past conflicts with potential custody arrangements between Matt and the mother of his child.
Robby’s past is mired in abuse and rejection; alcohol and drugs but our hero has struggled to move on with his life including helping those who are unable or unwilling to help themselves. Matt battles his direction in life including his attraction to a man when he, himself, had never considered himself bisexual or gay. Using their work relationship as a conduit towards friendship and love, Robby begins a slow seduction of the man he has lusted after for over a year.
The relationship between Robby and Matt is one of immediate attraction but Matt struggles with who he is, and what he wants. Robby’s past is dangerous and dark, but a past that continues to haunt him both day and night. The $ex sense are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Brick and Olivia , Kane and Amanda; Matt’s friend and mother of his child Patty, and their son Jimmy, as well as a number of gay, lesbian, bi and transgendered youth who struggle for a place to live, and feel protected from life. The requisite evil has many faces.
ROBBY is a story of family, friendship, rejection and love; of finding where you belong no matter the path or choices that lie ahead. The premise is heart breaking, emotional and engaging; the romance is sensitive and provocative; the characters are broken, wounded but energetic and spirited.
You know when there are stories that just pull at your heart and make you want to change the world? This is one of them. I didn’t want this to end. I loved all the characters in it. Robby, Matt, Brick, Kane and the amazingly open wives. To learn that you do what you can to survive and be able to move on from it without damaging your soul comes at a high cost. I want to know more about Kane and Brick so I hope there are more stories to come. Learn to love yourself and move forward in life. Loved this.

Really enjoyed this book. Jenn Davis is a new author to me and I think she shows alot of talent. By the end of the book I couldn’t put it down. I dont normally read MM but im so glad I got a chance to read Matt and Robby journey. 4 solid stars
This is a first book from the series, did I loved it, no, but I enjoyed reading it. It has an interesting plot and interesting characters. They both have the troubled past that shaped them in a person they are today. Robby and Matt connect on a deeper level and in the end, Robby has a person in his life who loves all of him and is prepared to fight him. I am not ok with all the things that happen in the book and is tragic because that sort of thing really happens in real life. Book full of drama, family drama, love, and HEA.
Robby works with new guy Matt at Cooper Construction. His past is dark and painful for him. He doesn’t like to talk about it. Robby isn’t shy about his attraction to Matt. He wants to move on with his life and include Matt in it. These two were sexy, strong and lovely. The entire series has been wonderful to read and I am looking forward to more from this author.

I don’t read many M/M books, but I thought this one was well written, and I liked the main character. There is a lot of emotion in this story between two lost souls who eventually find each other. This is the 3rd book in the series but it is a standalone novel so no need to panic if you haven’t read the other 2 books. I thought it was an enjoyable read.

I’ve been wondering how long it would take for this lady to finish this book. I loved her first two and I knew that this would be a bomb. Not everyone has an open mind about this subject but love is love, right?
Jen Davis has given me two epic books and I know that her next ones will be just as amazing. Her writing is raw and wild, forbidden and intense, beautiful and carnal. It’s amazing and you should read her work.
Robby is her latest release and it’s the third book from the Cooper Construction series.
This new book explores the lives of Robby and Matt.
Robby didn’t have an easy life. No one could imagine the things he endured behind that sweet face, a bit awkward and shy attitude.
Matt wants to do his job and mind his own business. He’s a wild wolf that wants peace and quiet.
How can you truly see what’s right in front of you if you refuse to pay attention?
I’m speechless… I’m stunned… I’m overwhelmed… Dayum… Who could have thought that only one book could have this effect in me?
How can people be so cruel just because things are not the “normal”?
Amazing plot, super engaging and so freaking intense. This book is surrounded by darkness, drama, past demons as well as true love, friendship, family bonds.
How can the person who’s supposed to love you unconditionally ditch you just because you’re not what he expects you to be? Why can’t gay people have a normal life and acceptance?
Well, this book will give you an insight into how they live through this and fight to their happiness.
Oh, Jen… This book is perfect and I’m so in love right now. I’m stunned, that’s for sure, but so happy as well.
What’s next?

4*
I’ve waited for Robby’s story from the start of the series and it didn’t disappoint!
Robby has had the hots for Matt forever but is his crush one sided?
Matt is the shy guy on site and raging a battle to discover his identity he’s trying his best to make good for his son & not hurt others. A story of survival, acceptance and something worth fighting for.
I felt the story was told as true to life as possible.
4 stars!! I knew Robby was a gem!!
This is Robby’s story, book three in “Cooper Construction” series, and can be read as a stand alone. But once you know the construction crew you are gonna want to read about them all.
So this is a m/m romance and that is usually not my wheelhouse seeing as I can’t relate. But this didn’t feel like that. This felt like a beautiful friendship that turned into more. This felt like a person finding themselves and finding the person who completes them. It was beautiful.
Robby is like the little brother to all the guys. I love how Brick and Kane have always been super protective of him since the very beginning. And can I say that I even thought there was no way in hell he had a shot with Matt. I also didn’t realize everything that Robby had went through. My heart broke for him.
The author did a great job of developing this relationship and creating these beautiful characters. Maybe it felt like it dragged a little bit but I feel like after the halfway mark I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.
**I received this book as an ARC and in return gave my honest review**
Robby has had a hopeless crush on Matt for so long. I say hopeless because Matt is oblivious. He really only focuses on a few things – fixing the problems he has with his ex, and raising his son, oh, and making enough money to raise said son. So when his crew at Cooper Construction starts drawing him into their fold, he’s a bit standoffish at first. But he soon comes to feel a part of their family, AND starts up something with Robby, the sweetest coworker a man could ask for.
Robby is a delight! I loved it for quite a few reasons, but mostly because of Robby himself. He’s absolutely amazing – sweet, caring and compassionate, and strong and loving. He has a heartbreaking past, and it easily could have made him into a less amazing character, but instead, it served to make him one of the best heroes I’ve read in quite a long time. Honestly, I felt he might have been a little too good for Matt, who was a bit of a downer for most of Robby. Not that I didn’t understand where his narrow focus came from, because of course raising his kid should always have been his #1 priority, but sometimes I felt he put Robby far, far down on that same list, and Robby did not deserve it. Still, Robby loves him, so he gets a big pass from me. The rest of this awesome story is just the way I love my romance (MM or otherwise) – sexy, emotionally substantial, and featuring a wonderful primary and secondary cast. I will definitely be checking out the previous two stories in this series now.
This is filled with emotions including pain, sadness, and so much more. I am so happy that Robbie and Matt finally get their story. This has incredible ups and incredibly downs. Get ready for one emotional and darker ride.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased , honest review.
Robby was a beautifully written love story, full of emotion, confusion, years and love. Although I hadn’t read the first two books in the series I thoroughly enjoyed this book and need to go back and catch up what I missed.
This is Robby and Matt’s story, two guys would work together at a construction company. Robby has harboured a crush on Matt since the day they met but believes he is straight. Shy Matt has never noticed Robby’s crush he’s focused on financial stability for his infsant son.
There story is full of drama, secrets and enlightenment.
We are really loving this series and characters. We loved Robby and Matt’s story as there path was not and easy road due to Matt exploring his sexuality and Robby’s past and a whole lot of baby mama drama.”We loved it all !”
I loved Robby already from the other stories already but, I loved him even more this time around he was such a love-able soul . Our heart broke for what he had to endure to get through his teens just to survive and the hard choices he had to make but, he rose up from the ashes and made something of himself and created a family full of misfits.I loved how Robby did not let his new life be tainted by the old one and how he remained sweet and kind and not bitter and someone who wallowed in self pity. Robby was my favorite character this round but, I still have a soft spot for Brick .lol
We enjoyed getting to know Matt while he was figuring himself out and how he never put a label on his sexuality just went with the flow and what felt good a right for him.
We loved of course seeing our favorite characters again and seeing them celebrating their new lives with each other and their good fortunes. We love you guys!
Overall the story kept us engrossed and turning the pages. This was one heart felt dark tale but, through Robby and his darkest times and dark days he survived and now he is making a difference to those in need. With your new life and your support and knowledge and your good graces you are making this happen hoping to create a better world. The story also just had enough suspense to spice things up and we loved it and we hope there is more to come in this series.
Recommend read to all and its series!
