This shifter romance is so very good it will draw you in and hold your heart until the very end.
I absolutely adored this romance about Hunter and Alex! It’s not your typical shifter romance as it has a major twist in it that will have you believing in love again. Hunter lost his mate, Esme, exactly twenty-five years ago and can’t understand why he’s held on so long without her. By shifter norms, he should have followed her soon after her death but something or someone held him here. Alex recently lost her father and decided that she needed a change of scenery for the holidays. It’s there she meets Hunter and realizes he is her mate and something more.
Hunter and Alex have both experienced pain and loss. For Hunter it was the loss of his mate at the expense of werehyenas. Alex loss her father and is now an orphan. Seeing a picture of Hunter instinct had her going to Clearwater to meet him and meet him she did. At first hunter thought that he was with his mate again. But when he breached her hymn he came out of his haze. Confused he ran off all he knows is that he was unfaithful to the memory of Esme. There is something going on that needs clarity, can Alex be Esme reincarnated and if so is she Hunter’s fated mate. What a book I was not putting it down until I had finished reading it, a well-written story of reincarnation. Alex decides to go to Clearwater for Christmas she also wants to visit the company who makes the bows and arrows that she uses when she is competing. The first day there she meets Hunter and they have an instant connection. Alex reminds Hunter of his murdered wife and Alex feels like she knows Hunter. Alex passes out after she meets Hunter and all of Esme Hunter’s deceased wife’s knowledge of Hunter passes through Alex’s memories. What is going on? I would recommend this book.
