I have been dying to get back to this series and get better acquainted with another one of Ms. Harte’s Body Shop Bad Boys, and I have to say Foley was DEFINITELY worth the wait!! The minute he walked onto the page I knew my heart was in trouble, there is nothing like a bad boy with a heart of gold that is determined to get the girl, and will go to great lengths to prove he is worth the risk!! Foley and Cynthia pulled me into their world and had me instantly captivated and devouring the pages as fast as I could turn them… once I got started there was no stopping me! Their story was filled with heated banter, smoldering passion, heartfelt emotion, & scorching chemistry, which helped ignite some very hot encounters that had me feeling the flames and in dire need of a fan!! I think it is safe to say Ms. Harte has a bestseller on her hands with this one, definitely one of her best to date!!

I have read all four books in the Body Shop Bad Boys series and just now able to sit down and write reviews. As such, I can say that Foley and Cyn’s story is my favorite. Foley is a wonderfully written character with a personality that is more than skin deep. He has emotional layers that add to his charm. He’s more than just a rough, tattooed mechanic. He was raised by a very strong woman who instilled manners and virtues including loyalty and protectiveness. He knows how to treat people, especially those he loves. The author does a fantastic job giving Foley real and believable emotions, opening him up to the readers.
Growing up wasn’t nearly as wonderful for Cyn, however. Cyn grew up in an environment full of body shaming, insults, and condescension, nice enveloped with a smile. Moving away from the abuser is just one method of self-preservation deployed by Cyn. Swearing off men is just another mechanism Cyn uses to keep her sanity. She is a smart and strong woman that has endured a lot. Her development throughout the book is done so well, including mention of seeing a therapist. Sometimes you just can’t work through your issues alone or with friends/family. You need an objective , outside person to talk to about the problems – family and friends are too close to the situation and tend to be more subjective.
The connection between Foley and Cyn is instant. He may not be exactly what she was looking for but Foley is exactly what Cyn needed in a man. Their reaction to one another and the feelings they have toward each other clearly blindsided them both and I loved their journey. Their chemistry is off the charts and realistically written. Despite her hardships growing up, Cyn is a nice, pleasant, down-to-earth person. Despite Foley’s rough-and-tumble exterior, he’s a sweetheart. They are a wonderful couple and I very much enjoyed their story.
I really enjoyed the secondary characters throughout the story. We met several of them in Test Drive, book 1 and the author did a great job adding a few more to the mix. I love the interactions between the secondary characters and Cyn and Foley.
The story is engaging from the beginning and kept me captivated. The romance between Cyn and Foley is sweet and hot and I enjoyed the progression of their relationship. I really enjoyed the moment Cyn stood her ground and verbalized the abuse she endured at the hands of someone who was supposed to love and support. The plot was well thought out, organized, and perfectly paced. The Body Shop Bad Boys series is a winner!.
