I love this series. Great beach read! Or great any read!
Maisie is a British widowed mother of one, CEO of her own company, and from a wealthy family. Hatch is a biker from a troubled family; as the oldest of five, he basically raised his younger siblings plus had a bad marriage. Hatch now just enjoys his independence.
When the two meet, it is like two different worlds colliding.
One of the things I really liked in this book was the treatment of mental health. The other thing was Hatch…..he was just such a natural protector.
This is the first book by Piper Davenport I’ve read and I really enjoyed it. I received this book in my Romance Reveal Box and when I read the blurb, it sounded really good. Even if this is book 6 in this series, it can be read as a standalone.
I really liked both Maisie and Hatch so much. Maisie is a single mother of a 12-year old daughter, her husband had passed away suddenly 3 years prior. She is a savvy business woman of a company that her and her husband had founded. Even with the heartbreak of losing her husband, she had the strength to move on and try to make the best for her daughter. Her content, safe life is completely changed when she meets Hatch.
Hatch is the Sergeant of Arms of the Dogs of Fire MC and mechanic, he is such a great guy! He is the typical alpha biker, but he is so much more. Even though he has been so against relationships, something about Maisie called to him. I loved the way he just fell for Maisie and her daughter, it was actually really sweet. Don’t get me wrong, he is the growly, possessive alpha but the protective side of him just made him so much more awesome. When Maisie is hurt, it’s no holds barred. He is there and was not leaving them.
The suspense portion of this book was quite a shocker for me. I did not expect it at all! There were so many twists and turns that it definitely kept me on my toes.
All in all I did enjoy this book, I am actually very interested in the rest of the series.
Wow was really wondering if Maisey and Hatch was going to end up together or not…stayed up late to read…had to see how this ended…had me guessing til the end…loved the book!! Great read!!
Hatch meets Maisie after her car breaks down and he helps her out. Neither is looking for a relationship, but fate conspires to keep them in each other’s path. I really enjoyed the way Hatch was so protective of Maisie and her daughter Poppy, as well as his sister Cricket. I love the flashes of humor mixed into the intrigue and drama. I hope to read some more about Hatch’s family, and I can’t wait for more of the Dogs of Fire.
the effects of mental illness are so hard to outline, but this book captures a few of the challenges.
Not usually a fan of MC books, but this series is fantastic. Very light on the MC side, Maisie and Hatch and an unlikely couple, but they work. Even after she blows him off he still runs to her rescue and stays by her side. You get romance, suspense and drama all rolled together with characters that seem like part of your circle of friends. Plus you get little updates about previous couples in the series.
Great book, steamy storyline kept me turning the pages.
Language was a little too strong but good story
I loved this book it had me hooked from start to finish.
This was a really a good read, very strong men but that still protect their ladies and kids. The Love scenes are explosive.
Ok, biker not much of a bad boy.
Too many swear words
Enjoyed this book and it’s characters. Easy and entertaining.
Too you have to buy another book to read what then
Surprising twist I didn’t see coming.
Enjoyed. It was a good read.
Some of the language was rough. Wonder if people really speak that way.. perhaps they do.
Only thing better than a Piper written book is a Piper and Jack written book.
Great read! Make sure you have plenty of reading time because once you start this story you won’t be able to put it down until the end!
