A young prophet still learning her powers. A single city standing against the might of the empire. Can the dream of the rebellion last?Fifteen-year-old Riwenne never considered herself a prophet, but when she rescued Lyndamon City from destruction, people called her a miracle worker. Now the city she saved is under an even greater threat. When they declared their independence, the rest of the … independence, the rest of the empire prepared their airships for an attack. Lyndamon is still defenseless from the last battle and they don’t have resources to rebuild.
In a desperate bid to protect her fragile home, Riwenne must find more divine warriors to fight for her cause—but not everyone with a god’s power is on her side. When mysterious warriors attack, she must persuade them to join her team or she must defeat them. Still haunted by her last kill, Riwenne is reluctant to use lethal force again.
Between negotiating with gods and her new relationship, Riwenne barely has time to rest. Her sleep is haunted by nightmares of what she’s done and visions of what could happen if she fails.
The fate of the gods hangs in the balance.

Book three and Riwenne is now being called a miracle worker for saving the city but now they face an even bigger threat! It’s an exciting steampunk fantasy series set in an incredible world built by this author full of magical girls, giant airships and fast-paced adventure, and is so so addictive that once you start this series you will not be able to put it down!
Another wonderful book by Author Kristen S. Walker.
Loved reading books by this author. Plenty of excitement in each one…
The train goes on good vs. evil. Who wins and overcomes is the question. As these heros and villian’s grow up you know them more intimately. Yet there still the unpredictable and smooth flowing storyline. I can’t wait to read the next book. I received ARC copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Riwenne is back and better than ever.
In the first book Riwenne and the warriors had to learn as they went and defend from threats unknown. In book two the warriors were on the run without a plan except to free a goddess. Book three feels different. The warriors go from rebels to leaders, taking the first steps to build the world they want to live in.
This is the most thought-provoking and introspective entry to the series. All of the character go through a lot of growth in book three Riwenne especially must learn and mature as she comes to terms with her role and her connection to her Goddess.
That’s not to say that there isn’t a lot of action that I have come to expect from the series. Threats still loom from out and within and new players enter the fray to complicate matters. The magic and battles continue to be exciting and fun.
The cast of amazing characters continues to grow. Riwenne and Janera are still my favorite and the most consistent characters. Kyra was much more likeable and only bothered my once or twice. Fairuza was a confusing character especially with her parting words being so fundamentally wrong and out of no where. The dynamics between Riwenne and the other characters especially Quilla was very we’ll done.
I absolutely adore this series, each new entry is better than the one before and expands on the lore and the world in general. Walker has once again delivered an amazing story.
Our heroine has a new home to protect and new friends by her side. Can they hope to stand against the combined might of the empire?
This is a young adult, steampunk novel. This is the third book in this setting and it picks up roughly where the second book ended. I do recommend that the books be read in order so that you understand the setting and situation.
If you have read from the beginning, you will have a good grounding in both the characters and the setting. Both have been well developed over the course of the books and they have a richness to them that helps bring the story to life.
The story itself is quick paced with lots interesting discoveries and challenges along the way. More importantly to me, the characters are changing and maturing as we go along. Overall, I find I like each new book more than the last, which is not a bad thing at all.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC of this book through StoryOrigin for review purposes.
The stunning sequel in the Divine Warriors series. Action packed, it embraces the talents of Riwenne and her friends. Quilla is softening her attitude because of Riwenne’s moral values and definitely gave Luda her comeuppance. Phenomenal.
This latest book is another winner in the series! Riwenne is full of strengths and stretches, both of which propel her forward. She just can’t seem to stay away from danger, whether it seeks her or she seeks it…there’s a strange kind of reciprocity there. We continue to see Riwenne grow in her leadership and magic warrior skills, along with her family/friends of choice. They are a hodge podge group with interesting quirks and it’s been fun to get to know them in this very distinct world. I am so glad that there will be another book coming out in 2020! I highly recommend that you read the series in order…please note that I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. P.S. Kristen S. Walker, the author, is more of a riveting storyteller, so you might want to make sure that you have plenty of time to read in one sitting!
I have really enjoyed this story through three books and the prequel. Kristen has made her story come alive and I feel like I’m there as the forces for good and evil engage in yet another battle.
Younger readers may feel this story is directed to them because the heros are teenagers but adults will see the core values of trust and commitment to the cause as well as friendship that unite the heros together. Kristen has also throughout this series introduced us to not Greek or Roman gods but gods she has imagined and brought to life in providing their power to their chosen champions in the eternal struggle between good and evil.
I believe all who like fantasy adventures will enjoy this series and I highly recommend it! Take a bow Kristen for another job well done! I look forward to more adventures with this amazing team of heros.
