When Erin Poletti pulls her car into the thousand acre Rydell River Ranch in River’s End, Washington, looking to stay with her hated brother Chance, she never intends for it to be anything more than a pit stop on the way to the rest of her life. After her mother’s suicide, Erin has no choice but to seek out her brother where he works as a ranch hand, as she is left penniless, homeless and for … reasons she will share with no one; without the basic skills to navigate her life. Ranch owner Jack Rydell watches her pull onto his ranch and knows that trouble has come to his ranch, his three brothers, his two sons, and most of all: to himself.
Erin has a short lived relationship with Jack’s youngest brother until circumstances eventually leave Erin nearly destitute on the ranch, and finally reveals the secret Erin has desperately hidden. And only then, does Jack finally begin to know the woman whose presence has so altered his life. Eventually, Erin finds a job, and starts to work with Jack and his horses in order to repay the debts she feels she owes him. But the longer Erin is there Jack begins to wonder if he can resist the woman he now knows, despite everything that stands between them.

Each had a very different road they came from, with different burdens, and what they did to move forward. Life is messy, and this book reflects that in all it’s humanity. Great read.
it was a good read
I started reading this book, but stopped after a few pages. This could have been an interesting book if the offensive language had been left out. Why do they have to write books like this?
I loved this book
I need this book very much
Multi-layered characters with complex issues to face.
Good read.
I really liked this series.
This book is a combination of family loyalty, tragic history, inspirational fight for the future, infuriating road blocks, but always gives the hope for an HEA!
Sympathetic heroine has to work her way through a hostile environment to find herself and her happily ever after.
Very good writting
Enjoyable and easy to read
Not just another steamy novel. This one has heart, depth, and hope. This author has a gift. I can’t wait to read the next in the series!
What a fun spring read for the beach
Suspenseful romantic mystery….really great!! A page turner. I will never give the story away, you have to read it for yourself…
Erin’s mother is gone and her step father is a real piece of work. Erin knew she had to leave her home and get away so she drove to where her brother Chance works and hopefully he would let her stay with him until she could figure out what to do. No friends…only her worthless mean brother. But as she drove onto the ranch, she could see maybe these were nice people..it is a beautiful ranch with horses, mountains and a river. The first person she sees is a very handsome young man …..this is the beginning to the story…..Smile……I loved this book….wonderfully written. Realistically great plot…believable characters..
Erin has been neglected severely in her life, no self worth but she is very intelligent, kind and terrified. I was given this in a free book giveaway and I voluntarily leave this review.
Love it
Took forever to get to the point. Too much unnecessary details.
This “river” series is great!
Good read. I had a little problem with the sequencing of past events. Main character’s mind set was sad.
Very good read! I gave this a 5 star because I thoroughly enjoyed the story. It gave me a since of homecoming as it talked about the ranch and equine there. The story of a hard life and all its struggles is something I could relate too. I’d recommend it to anyone who was interested.
