Charlie Rydell fell for Cami Reed because she was his best friend before she was his first love. He foresees their future union as starting in high school and ending in forever. There’s only one thing he didn’t account for in his formula: how Cami might feel.Cami arrived in River’s End with a past that no one knew much about. Seeking acceptance in a place that she’s never fully acclimated to, … acclimated to, Cami acts out in ways that aren’t always appropriate, predictable or accepted. Not even by Charlie. Yet, she is fiercely loyal to the only home and family she’s ever had, even as she fails to live up to the pressures of what her loved ones expect from her. She knows what she wants in her future and that knowledge leads her into making one of the biggest mistakes of her entire life. One which changes the destiny of what forever means to all of them.
Now, Charlie struggles with how to deal with what Cami has done. What possible destiny awaits him? A small town love and a small town life? Or the whole world at large? Either path holds things he’s never dreamed of, but the problem is, to have one he has to give up the other. Where does his destiny belong? And how will he know if he’s chosen the right path to lead him there?

So this is what I hate to do but it’s needed. This book just bored me. I couldn’t get into it at all and I tried. I felt that Charlie pretty much took charge in everything and Cami was just along for the ride. Like there was no backbone on her at all. This was definitely my last favorite book of this series. I hope the next one is better.
This was a greaest story of the series . Cami and Charlie’s journey to happily ever after was a rough road. But in the end it was a testament of true love. They both grew up a lot during this book..ypu could feel their emotion throughout the book.it a must read …hurry and get it ..you wont regret
Rivers Destiny was one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read. I would read again in a heartbeat. This is Cami and Charlie’s story. I dont think I’ve ever cried so much from reading a book. Cami’s story about her upbringing as a child broke my heart. It took Charlie a long time before he understood some of what she felt. Distance for them helped thier relationship grow into something deeper then words and actions. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the River Ends series.
Charlie fell for his best friend Cami and even though they loved each other there came ups and down with their relationship. This book was intense and well written and just so interesting to read, it was another great book to an great series.
This was a great story. Cami and Charlie’s journey to happily ever after was a rough road. But in the end it was a testament of true love. They both grew up a lot during this book. I was torn up to pieces reading this and put back together again. Everything I read by this author is so well written I feel every emotional upheaval and I laugh and cry and celebrate with these characters. I loved reading Cami and Charlie’s story. My only complaint is that I finished reading it and it means I’m drawing closer to the end of the River’s End series. It will be a sad day when I reach the last book because I have followed the stories of these families and watched them grow. But this author has many more great books for me to read.
Cami Reed has been best friends with Charlie Rydell since her mother died and she moved to Rydell Ranch with her dad AJ and step-mom Kate. Kate has been such an incredible support to Cami and she wants to stay close to her after graduation with no real plans of going to college or leaving the Ranch.
Charlie Rydell has had feelings for Cami for years but it isn’t until the night of Prom that he acts on his feelings for her. But Charlie wants an education and has a goal of attending Stanford and seeing what else is out in the world and leave the ranch.
Can Cami and Charlie figure out their feelings for one another and can their opposite goals in life lead them to a happy ever after?
This was a good read and I enjoyed it.
I liked Cami and she had overcome a lot which was why she wanted to stay as close to Kate as possible. I found it so interesting that her and Charlie were so different on so many levels yet it was clear that they both loved each other. I found Cami much less mature with her drug use and then with the events that happened later in the book which she did to somewhat trap Charlie which broke my heart.
Charlie was awesome and I loved how he was following his dream and making something of himself. I understood his need of education and why he didn’t want to be at the ranch for the rest of his life. I was really interested in what was going to happen as he and Cami had such different dreams for themselves.
I liked Cami and Charlie together but I was worried about how things were going to go. When Germany came into the picture I definitely was thinking they were done. I wasn’t surprised at all with what happened next with Cami as I was truly expecting it. I was shocked at how well Charlie handled it and for awhile I truly wanted it to be over and thought Cami may turn to Jacob Starr.
I loved when Cami finally figured out what she wanted to do with her life and how that changed everything in her perspective of life. She all of a sudden completely grew up and I loved it.
The end was great as I loved the change in both Cami and Charlie and how they found love through it all.
I think Charlie has always been my favorite Rydell, and I was surprised, yet not, when he fell in love with Cami. Their love story, starting at eighteen, showed that sometimes you have to do a little growing up and some soul searching to find happiness in life. People grow and change. It was a bumpy road with a lot of baggage, but it was a meaningful one.
The entire River’s End series is seriously fantastic! River’s Destiny is Charlie and Cami’s story which I absolutely loved as much as the rest of the series! Charlie has been in love with his childhood best friend Cami since forever even though they are complete opposites. But when Charlie learns that Cami feels the same they finally decide to give a relationship a chance. This is a great story about friends to lovers who must overcome differences and obstacles to find a way for their relationship to grow.
This my second book in this series that I have read. I am anxious to continue on with more. River’s Destiny captured my attention with this young love story that we follow through as this couple matures. Charlie and Cami both had their flaws and imperfections that drove me crazy but as their story unfolded, I couldn’t put it down. I needed to know what Cami’s big secret was and how the resolution would pan out. This author pulls emotions from me when I least expect it. I love discovering her work this year. I encourage you to grab this one.
This is book 8 in the River ends series. We get to take the journey with Charlie and Cami. Loved this friends to lover story. They have known each other forever then they took the next step. Charlie leaves for college with leaves Cami back at the ranch. This is a stand alone but i recommend reading the others also. They are all great but you get more back story knowing everyone.
Ive enjoyed all of the books in this series. The way the author re enters the characters to have their own story. I love Charlie and Cami. They are good friends since children and then grow to more. This story is very believable and the two go through so much that your wondering what is going to happen next. Charlie I have to say is very loyal and true and all the twist and turns still stands tall. Cami the same, she is dealing with the past but also the future and decisions they have to make are truly something. I love the way the author tells the story and you always want just a little more….
Can two people who want diametrically opposite things from life, live on together, finding happiness, overcoming obstacles, growing up? This is a wonderful book, layered character development. It’s like being with friends, with family. Watching their growth, especially hers, is wonderful.recommended.
Rivers destiny follows Cami & Charlie best friends since kids but complete opposites. Charlie, hugely intelligent and sensible and Cali always pushing the boundaries. With high school finished Charlie finally lets his true feelings for Cani show and to his surprise they are reciprocated. However Charlie is off to Stanford and Cami is left on the ranch, somewhere she never has an interest in leaving. Charlie meanwhile wants to experience the world. The book shows how the 2 have to overcome large obstacles, betrayal to find their way through their relationship and see if their differences will finally drive them apart.
The way this Author writes just brings you into the story. Thank you Leanne Davis for a great series. Two more left to go. This story of Cami & Charlie is wonderful. You know them as kids & to watch them grow into their own persons finally realizing who they are & what they want. To watch them switch roles in their relationship. Cami unsure & insecure turning into a woman who knows what she wants. Charlie becoming insecure from being away from Cami. Great read!
Just the absolute best story. Everything I like to listen about and more. Such a great story I will listen again and again. A keeper!!
Omg this is the 8th book in the series complete stand alone but why wouldn’t you want to read the first 7! This is Charlie & cami’s story! Best friend to lovers! Lots of angst and emotion!!!
Cami and Charlie were an amazing story. I love this series. Davis never shies away from a topic and did not in this book either. Cannot wait to read Brianna’s story.
