“Tag. I found you.”
Just as Annie Bell’s reputation as one of the best chefs in the Pacific Northwest grows to new heights, she receives a threatening phone call from her abusive ex-boyfriend. Marco is out on parole and hungry for revenge, blaming her for his 10-year imprisonment. Fearing for her life and that of her young son, Annie reluctantly accepts help from Drake Webber, a cold and wealthy … and wealthy recluse hiding a dark history of his own. Supported by the gang of misfits from their restaurant Riversong, Annie forges ahead despite her growing terror that Marco will appear at any moment and make good on his threats.
Author Tess Thompson (formerly known as Tess Hardwick) reunites the colorful cast of endearing small-town characters from her bestselling novel Riversong and takes you on a journey that will renew your faith in love, friendship, and the power of community — even in the face of seemingly insurmountable grief and fear. You’ll find yourself once again cheering for the residents of River Valley, especially the big-hearted and compassionate Annie Bell.
Escape with a blend of love, laughter, friendship, suspense, and gourmet food while remembering it’s never too late for second chances.

I love Annie’s character from the beginning. She’s a single mom who works hard as a chef at Riversong. Drake is a recluse and Annie is very wary of him, but she accepts a job cooking for him. Adding to their story is the suspense of Annie’s ex threatening her and her son. A thoroughly enjoyable story.
Riverbend by Tess Thompson is the second book in the River Valley Series.
Annie Bell is the head chef at a new restaurant with a young son named Alder, and Drake Webber is a new comer to town that has built a house on the hill and plans on becoming a hermit.
When Annie and Alder are in danger, Drake does the only thing he can think of by opening …
This is the second book in the trilogy, and it certainly lived up to the promise the first book showed. In this one, we follow the story of Annie, the woman who Lee hired to be the head cook at her restaurant. We find out about more about her previous life before being hired to cook. We meet her son Alder and find out more about him too. We learn …
It’s a wonderful series. Love them all
A great book.
Delving into a Tess Thompson novel is a wonderful way to spend a Friday night. Just finished RIVER BEND and loved it. Tess never disappoints! ( . . . and that first chapter–whew!)
3.5 Tag. I found you stars. This is the second book of the River Valley series by Ms Thompson. I did not read the first and I had no trouble at all following and enjoying this one. Riverbend is the name of a home in River Valley, OR, a quaint town that has a dying economy and is looking for ways to reinvent the town. The two thriving businesses …
I liked the characters even though I thought the situation was not very realistic. As I read, I really grew fond of them and looked forward to reading it.
Annie Bell has not had an easy life. From abusive relationships to struggling making it on her own with her young son Alder, she has been through it all. Now she has a new lease on life in a small town in Oregon. Annie is the head chef at the nicest restaurant in town, she has a wonderful eclectic group of friends and finally a happy life, but …
The story of Drake and Annie is a great romance with a twist of mystery. Lots of well-developed characters so we know they’ll be more stories from Tess Thompson soon. This is only the second book at Thompson that I’ve read but I plan to read more.
Beautiful
I didn’t get to read the first book in the series, but this book makes me want to and to read the rest of the series. Finding love again for Drake after he thought he couldn’t after his wife and daughter were killed. Annie find a man that didn’t scare or abuse her was what she needed and to also protect her son.
I simply could not get into this book.
Everything written by Tess Thompson is fantastic!
Everything by Tess Thompson is extremely enjoyable reading.
This books runs the gamut of every emmotion, and I loved it. A well rounded and engaging plot that flows beautifully and characters that are imperfect and fascinating. Stunning writing with almost poetic imagery of southern Oregon. I will read this one again!
I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series
Loved the book. Great plot. Tess Thompson held my interest start to finish. Great characters.
Looking forward for the others.
predictable, shallow characters
Good summer read.
