Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. And she’s never known any others of her kind. Until now. As Mercy comes to terms with this new information, an evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River. Something … River. Something deadly is coming, facts are thin on the ground and Mercy feels ill at ease. However, her father’s people may know more. To have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need all the resources the shifters can offer. Or death will be the least of their worries.

River Marked is another great novel in the series. Briggs takes us along with Mercy and Adam on their honeymoon to a campsite far from home, where they have the entire, glorious place to themselves.
Of course, Mercy can’t go anywhere without trouble following her like a were-puppy. This particular trouble also affects several Native American tribes, which thankfully gives Mercy (and us) a glimpse of her family origins, as well as insights into tribe lore, replete with Briggs’ fae twists, and some fascinating big, new players. The stakes are, as usual, bigger than just Mercy and Adam, with tough moral questions that had me truly scratching my head about how I would handle the same situations.
Mercy, too, continues her evolution from fiercely independent to fiercely in love, trying to find that balance between making a relationship work and not losing her identity—a feat made difficult by her extremely alpha werewolf husband, who, despite his instincts, is trying hard to meet her in the middle.
If you’re a Mercy Thompson fan, this is an absolute must-read.
Change is in the air as Mercy and Adam embark on their married life. It will be eventful if their honeymoon is a sign of what’s to come. Far from home, Mercy and Adam find themselves in trouble as the River Devil takes an interest in Mercy. It’s a wild ride with plenty of danger and new allies, but I found myself missing the usual gang.

This is one of my favorite books in the series. We finally get to learn about Mercy herself and where she comes from.
I love this series. It’s been a while since I’ve been able to say that about a new to me series, but Mercy Thompson is awesome. It hits all the right buttons for me and had me wanting to immediately re-read the book even though I just finished it.
Mercy and Adam get married! WooHoo! And may I add, I love all the details of how it came about. Snorts! So off they go on their honeymoon and, as well all know, where ever Mercy goes, trouble follows. How much trouble can you get in when you’re own your honeymoon in a campground?
Two words: river monster. *Smacks forehead* Trust Mercy to get right into the thick of it all. Even with her man at her side, things get pretty dangerous. Not to worry, Mercy handles it with her own usual coyote flair. O.o Along the way we get to learn more about Mercy’s background that even she didn’t know. ACK! With the author dangling carrots like this right and left there really was no putting down this book!
I LOVE this series but with this book things started to feel a little repetitive to me. Still you cannot go wrong with Patricia Briggs, ever, I would just like to see her create a new universe with new characters.
River Marked is the sixth book in the Mercy Thompson series and I just loved getting to reenter this world with Mercy. I really enjoyed getting to read this installment. This book features more of Mercy and Adam which I always enjoy, but I did find myself missing all of her crazy friends at times. This book deals more with Mercy’s origins and it was really interesting getting to learn all this new information. It was just a really fun read and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I have been binging my way through this series and you would think at some point I would start to get sick of it, but it just hasn’t happened yet and I don’t think it’ll happen anytime soon. I just adored this world so much and I cannot get enough of Mercy and Adam.
In this one, Mercy and Adam try to have some time alone on vacation, but because trouble follows Mercy around of course their vacation takes a detour. We learn a lot more about Mercy and her background in this one and there is so much more to Mercy than meets the eye. I have come to love Mercy so much and she is just such a fantastic heroine. We would get along so well and I love how she has developed over these books. She has opened up more and learned to lean on Adam a bit but she has never lost her independent spirit.
The plot to River Marked wasn’t my favorite of the series, I enjoyed it but I just loved the last few I’ve read more, but what I did love about this one was all the Mercy and Adam time we got. Also, I missed Sam in this one. But back to Mercy and Adam. We get so much progression with these two in this book. Their relationship has truly grown and developed and I love how that has happened. I love how they communicate and really lean on one another and I love that we never create stupid issues and drag them out. Mercy and Adam have enough problems without relationship drama getting in the way. My favorite thing about this book was how we got to really see Adam and Mercy’s relationship in action and see how strong their bond has gotten. I love these two as a couple and Adam just holds my heart in his hands.
River Marked was another great addition to the Mercy Thompson series. Now I am excited to go check up on Charles and Anna again as I continue my way through the Mercyverse.
I love all of Patricia Briggs books but especially her Mercy books. Always enjoy reading and am sorry to finish.
Great book
This series is one of the good ones. Awesome characters. Action-packed. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Mercy Thompson is one my favorite heroine.
I love this series. I read them all and have loved them.
I love this series. Mercedes is the coolest coyote around!
I love Patricia Briggs and the Mercedes Thompson series. It was my first introduction to the urban fantasy genre and I’ve just fallen in love with her writing style and the worlds she creates. This series is super entertaining and full of great characters, kick-butt action, and great twists and turns. I can’t wait for her to write more books!
I have loved this entire series. Fabulous books
Have read the whole series. Liked them a lot.
How many times I’ve re-read a book is an excellent indication of how much I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve read all of Patricia Brigg’s Mercy Thompson series many times. The characters are written in a way that makes me feel as though I know them, although that may be because I’ve read the books so many times. I love Adam and Mercy and have a fan-girl crush on Bran. Each book in the series is binge-worthy and I devour them as soon as it shows up in my Kindle. I even bought the audio book for all of them so that I can listen to them as well. Love, love, love them!
another in a series by this author. good read.
In my top ten series
