From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a small town, fake relationship romance.Genevieve Daylee didn’t expect to be standing in front of a judge on her twenty-seventh birthday. But ever since her life became entangled with a former motorcycle gang, she’s learned not to expect anything but trouble. Her mother, a woman she once admired and adored, is gone, leaving behind a trail of … gone, leaving behind a trail of secrets and lies. She’s living in a tiny apartment above a garage owned by her brother, a man who loathes her very existence. And the father she met beside her mother’s grave is as much of a stranger as Isaiah Reynolds, the broken man with soulless eyes standing beside her in front of the judge.
Isaiah is her protector from the murderer at large in Clifton Forge. Though he’s more like a riven knight in dented armor than a prince on a white stallion. She knows next to nothing about him, other than he works as a mechanic. As of tonight, he’ll be sharing her bathroom.
And, according to the judge, Isaiah is now her husband.

An amazing 6 star story that consumed my entire being from the very first page read to the very last one. I can’t wait for more. I knew after reading Gypsy King, I needed Riven Knight. There were so many unanswered questions.
Riven Knight is somewhat a continuation of Gypsy King. Even if it revolves around Genevieve and Isaiah answers will be given. Light will be shed of some of the events of book 1.
This book is so intriguing that I had a difficult time putting it down. Beautifully mastered with an original storyline and plot twist that I never saw coming. I said WTF quite a bit while reading this story. Characters that were perfectly created. Bottomline is this is a must read series.
Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story and Gypsy King.
“If my heart left her breathless, then hers gave me a reason to breath”.
Oh Isaiah, how can you not love these beautiful broken Reynolds men????
I went in expecting another suspenseful rollercoaster but got a very emotional one instead. The twists are there but it gave me all the feels,I loved that Devney didn’t follow a formula and that this book was not what I was expecting. Isaiah is a complex being, he carries around this guilt and self hatred but he doesn’t pity himself. His loyal and loving and sweet in a understated way, Devney really does write the best Heroes. Genevieve has been through IT! But she keeps going, she’s resilient and honorable and a badass in her own way. What I loved the most about this book were the relationships and the development of beach one throughout the book. Riven Knight is the second book in the Tin Gypsys series, we get closure on everything that was left open in Gypsy King.
Devney Perry set the bar SO HIGH with Gypsy King I didn’t know what to expect with Riven Knight, but I did know I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. And good grief was the wait worth it! Riven Knight, much like the previous book is Devney to the extreme. More suspense. More emotion. More swoon. More everything. I can’t even make an attempt to articulate just how much this book will grab you and not let you go. Just be prepared to have no other plans when you start reading.
Isaiah was quite the mystery when he was introduced and experiencing his story unfold and discovering the man he really is was nothing short of astounding. With his heartbreaking history interwoven with characters I love really made it all hit me on a whole new level. He’s so much more than all he’s been through though. His undying loyalty, his ability to love those he cares about (especially Genevieve) and the strength he doesn’t even realize he has all name him so easy to love.
Genevieve is very similar in that regard. She’s been through so much, with her life basically imploding around her, it truly shows just how strong and full of love her heart really is. These two might not have had the most conventional of starts and they definitely didn’t have an easy road, but their story is one that you definitely won’t be forgetting any time soon.
Devney has done it again! She’s created another story that has drawn me in & wouldn’t let me go until I got to the last page.
I can’t explain how excited I was to see Isaiah again, we meet him in Tragic & again in Gypsy King; I just HAD to see this man find some sort of happiness! I loved that we got see see how Genevieve adjust to her new life in Clifton Forge. It was hard to see her grieve, but it was also so beauty watch her & Isaiah help each other heal.
The mystery of the killer/kidnapper continues from Gypsy King in this book, and it’ll have you clutching your kindle, tearing up, & gasping until the end! This series has given me some serious Nora Roberts vibes, and if you’re a fan of hers you’ll absolutely love this series!!
Gah!! I love this series and this story! Riven Knight is full of mystery, angst, romance and full on swoon factor. It kept me glued to my ereader and always on the edge of my seat!
“I feared how much I looked forward to those chaste kisses each morning before work. I feared the hitch of my breath and the race of my heart.“
Genevieve and Isaiah are keeping lots of secrets, one of the biggest being the reason why they are suddenly married.
“Day by day, I was falling in love with the lie.”
Riven Knight is book two in the Tin Gypsy series. It is a complete story but there are some mysteries from book one, Gypsy King that we learn answers about plus some mysteries that are still unsolved at the end of this book. I absolutely adored everything about this beautifully written story!!
-5 Stars!!-
Riven Knight picks up right where the first book in this series, Gypsy King, left off. Draven is about to go to trial for Amina’s murder. After the kidnapping in Gypsy King, Amina’s and Draven’s daughter turns up married to Isaiah, the ex-con mechanic living above the garage.
Thinking spousal privilege is the answer to their problems, Genevieve and Isaiah know their marriage is a sham, but they need to make it look real for everyone else. They live a fine line of being a married couple in public and living like strangers in private. But living together takes its toll on their relationship and Genevieve finds herself having some feelings for Isaiah (and vice versa). If only he would open up and let her in.
This is a slow burn kind of romance, with Isaiah’s secrets being the biggest hurdle they have to cross before they can move forward. Their journey to their HEA is complicated by the fact that Amina’s murderer and Genevieve’s kidnapper are still on the loose.
I loved Genevieve and Isaiah together. She’s no pushover and doesn’t let Isaiah off the hook when it comes to opening up to her. Both are strong and determined, and this is both their strength and their downfall when it comes to each other. I loved how they fell in love even though the marriage was temporary and their unique circumstances made this story feel fresh.
The killer is revealed near the end of the story and I liked that there was some closure on this story, but it all comes with a price. The world that Devney Perry has created in this series is engaging and different than other MC romances I’ve read and I like that very much about this series.
Looking forward to more after the epilogue too!
Devney is known for creating compelling stories with complicated plots, emotional angst and layered characterizations. They are utterly consuming and impossible to put down. I was dying to read this after Broken Knight and she certainly doesn’t disappoint in keeping the hook lodged in me deep and secure
This series is going to be EPIC by every chapter, every book, every character and every developing Episode. Layers upon layers keep opening, dreadful intrigue spun as fine and strong as a web keeps entangling helpless characters. New situations present themselves, New problems to be faced, New villains to be hunted down… Tin Gypsies, though spent, just keep on giving!!
It kept me up all night, till my eyes drooped and I started seeing double, the kindle was pried away from my hands by my surly husband ultimately
Whereas Gypsy King had me gasping at enchanting chemistry between Clever & Sassy Bryce & Dash Slater, we all know how yummyliciously hot and heavy it soon became, exploding into chaos and chemistry at the same time.
This story moves forward and spreads out as a river in a Delta in book 2. It slows down, at least on surface and protracts with families joining in, rivals popping up. The tree grows bigger, the panorama enlarges and old clubhouse gets reopened.
In the quiet center of the raging maelstorm, stand Isaiah Reynolds and Genvieve Daylee, stock- still and Close-hearted, clamped up tighter than a mollusc.
For a couple thrown together in an awkward marriage, they’ve heavy, uncomfortable silence filling their tiny apartment. You could hear pin drop in their house and their hearts.
“Why count on people when they’d only disappoint? Or leave? Or die? ”
His misery broke my heart and her quiet dignity restored it
Devney has taken time and care to develop their relationship glance by glance, touch by touch, feel by feel. The progress is slow but steady, the path fraught with guilt boulders and turmoil potholes. Their trusts have been broken, so they’re extra cautious in their approach and extra stingy with words.
“Doll. There was no hesitation in the word. It was becoming habit—one that chased away a sliver of the tension between us. Maybe after enough dolls, we’d chip away all the awkwardness and find a friendship underneath. ”
Not to forget, they are also dealing with mistrust and resentment from Dash, secrets and apprehension from the Reynolds and the enemy is still out there on the loose. Warriors are angry and ready for war, cops ready to jump on them and every dark alley hides a an enemy to jump on the girls whenever they’re vulnerable. Secondary characters are all alluring and left me craving for more. I’m so curious about Presley, Emmett, Leo and Tucker.
**I swear I thought Jeremiah had the thing V was searching for…I swear **
Pulse pounding twists and turns pockmark this thrilling ride of a story. Many a times my jaw dropped with a sudden revelation, my heart jumped to my throat with Are ya kidding me developments and certainly a twist towards the end there me in for a loop
I certainly Did not see it coming
All love stories don’t have an HEA, some go darker, some get grittier and some turn the truth as you know it, on its head
This book managed All three
This is only my third book by her but I’m so surprised that all three are completely different, yet deeply moving and struck every emotional chord in my weeping heart.
I’m so looking forward to the next installment – Stone Princess.
I’m planning to read as a by books as I can before I meet her in Apollycon and hug her tight and hard
Loved the story, the premise, and her writing style.
5 stars for Figure It or Die Trying
What will it take to set them all free? Find out in the the second book in the Tin Gypsy series Riven Knight by Devney Perry. This book is about Genevieve and Isaiah and picks up right where book 1, Gypsy King, left off. They both have a lot to deal with, Isaiah’s past and the current situation Genevieve is working thru. It makes for an emotional tale and definitely a page turner. My heart was breaking for them all towards the end but no spoilers here – you must read to find out what happens!
Another great book by Devney Perry!
We meet Genevieve and Isaiah in The Gypsy King and I couldn’t wait to get more of their story and to continue the suspenseful story line from The Gypsy King!
Oh my goodness, I love this book! It may actually be one of my top Devney books now.
The romance was a slow burn and I love this so much! Devney made you wait for these two characters to develop their bond and the wait was so worth it! Their chemistry is undeniable and they will do anything for each other. Their love is strong and nothing can stop them.
There is so much suspense in this story. I literally could not put it down and finished in 24 hours. When I finished The Gypsy King, there were so many questions I needed answers to. Well, you get all the answers in this book and you will be on the edge of your seat while waiting to read them all. It’s soooo good!!!!
I will admit, I’m a little mad at Devney!! I can’t say exactly why but she broke my heart a little. She threw a sucker punch out of no where and it hit hard!! I didn’t see that happening at all!
I can not recommend this book enough but you have to start with The Gypsy King to follow along with the story line.
Now I can’t wait for Stone Princess!!!
Let me start by telling you what Riven Knight is not.
Riven knight is not a frothy love story where boy meets girl, there’s instant connection, stars in their eyes and POW! Love and happily ever after.
No. Riven knight picks up right where Gypsy King ends and carries on with the story of Genevieve and Isaiah. Isaiah is a broken man and Genevieve has just lost her mother under mysterious circumstances.
What we know is for some reason these two people get married. It’s a marriage of convenience that is anything but.
I love how Devney Perry develops this story. It’s an addictive read. I was a cheerleader for this unlikely couple. I can’t wait for Stone Princess next!
First of all I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, but some parts I was just annoyed and irritated.
I loved Isaiah and Genevieve. But some parts just frustrated me. Right through the book I felt like they had no chemistry. You could feel the tension between them and they both wanted something to happen. But it just didn’t happen.
Genevieve annoyed me so much. Okay I know she was angry and upset about her mother and all the secrets but I felt like she was taking it out on everyone around her. She wanted to help Isaiah and I seconded it. But even though she made that choice it still felt like she would rather be anywhere but there. And yes she was angry with Draven but its not like he even knew about her, like really move on get to know the father you always wanted.
But even though all that I really felt like they were good for each other and they belonged with each other, if only they could all get through their issues. All in all I was intrigued with this story, I wanted to know what happened in that cabin and I wanted to know who killed her mother. So definitely lots of angst intrigue and so much more. Could have used a bit more romance but I loved the suspense and the mystery more, lol!
I cant wait for the next book in this series. Definitely following this to the end.
Isaiah and Genevieve are meant to be! I love a fake marriage trope and Devney Perry nails it with this one! It opens with them getting married to protect Isaiah and to keep him from going back to prison. He saved Genevieve. Of course, they are living in tight quarters, and things heat up. She moves into his garage apartment and feels safe. They both are looking into what happened, so the story continues from The Tin Gypsy. Get ready for another nail biter! Secrets will be revealed, plots twists will ensue! You need this book and series in your life! I cannot wait for Presley’s book next, Stone Princess! 5 amazing stars
I couldn’t put this book down. I had no interest in reading anything else once I started it. I loved the mystery surrounding Isaiah and Genevieve. After all the drama of the kidnapping, I was dying to know what happened at that cabin. They both have suffered heartbreaking tragedies and are trying to figure out how to move on. Their story held me captive. I loved the way Genevieve fought for justice for her mom, and how she found a new family along the way. Isaiah’s self-loathing was painful to read, and I wanted him to find happiness so much. I really love these characters. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I read more than the average person, so I know words. I know great authors, I know amazing storytellers and I know what draws a reader in. I know what works! Devney Perry works. She encompasses each and every one of those traits above, a great author, a great storyteller, a wordsmith and she not only draws you in, but she holds you, hostage. Devney was my favorite author in 2018 and 2019, but after reading her latest novel, something tells me she is going to hold that position in 2020 as well.
Riven Knight is the second book in the Tiin Gypsy Series and picks up where it ended. Genevieve (V) and Isiah have a story and it is AMAZING! The path they traveled will leave you laughing, in tears, yelling and perhaps flabbergasted! At least I was.
This book can be read as a stand-alone but I would not read it unless I read Gypsy King first. There are so many questions that were raised in Gypsy King that we get the answer to in Riven Knight. Who, what, where, why and when. But be prepared for those answers to be emotional, heartfelt, not always what we expect and even hurtful at times. Be prepared to put your kindle/book down, walk away to take a breather (the emotional turmoil) and pick it back up knowing the answers won’t be easy.
See, that’s the thing when you read a Devney Perry book. You don’t get cute, nor easy. You don’t get fluff or a simple HEA. You get real. That’s what makes Devney stand out from the rest. She gives you real! Real pain, real characters, real stories. She gives you stories that will resonate with you long after you have ended the story. Some refer to it as a book hangover and I know because each and every one of her books has left me in that state.
I won’t go into the story as I hate reviews that tell me the story, but I will say once again Devney has blown me out the water. Once again she has started a fire in my soul. Once again she has left me speechless. Once again she has proven why she is the best of the best. Once again she has me wanting to read the phone book (do they still have those) if she wrote it. Once again she has proven why she is my favorite author.
Riven Knight is the second book in the Tin Gypsy series. It’s hard to write a spoiler free review for this book. All I can say is you MUST read this book!! It picks up right where Gypsy King left off. I loved the story line for this couple. I can’t think of a better book to kick start off a new year with. Five Stars!!!
An Emotional, Raw & Gritty Romantic Supense
A raw and gritty romantic suspense. It’s a story that makes you feel all the pain. It’s emotionally charged, with real and honest feelings that aren’t always pretty.
Book two in this series gives us a continuation of the story from book one with a different couple. The story will unfold and we’ll finally find out the truth.
Genevieve is working to move on from the brutal murder of her mother. After surviving her own kidnapping, she has secrets. To keep anyone from finding out what really happened that night, she has to marry a man she doesn’t even know. But when a complete stranger saves your life, you do what needs to be done to protect his.
Isaiah is a quiet man just trying to make a life for himself. He’s a felon with a heart-wrenching past. His tortured soul will break your heart. A man who believes he is beyond redemption and does not deserve anyone’s love.
Now Genevieve and Isaiah have to find a way to live as a married couple and convince everyone else that their whirlwind romance is real. And find out who’s behind her mother’s murder and her kidnapping.
This story gave me all the feels and kept me guessing. Genevieve was a strong woman used to only depending on herself. As she began to rely on Isaiah’s support you watched her walls crumble. Their attraction was gradual and the slow burn was hot as hell. Isaiah never expected to get a second chance at happiness, but when he finally realizes she’s not going anywhere, he’s never letting her go.
I definitely felt every emotion while reading. Unexpected twists will leave you in tears, but their love will give you hope. This couple took me on a journey of second chances that I won’t be able to forget.
Another GLORIOUS 5 stars for the Queen of swoony romance. This marriage of convenience story had me from the start and I loved every twisty turn.
Isiah and V are sweet, broken, and just the right amount of heat for this heart wrenching story.
As usual with a Devney book, I squealed, I laughed, I cried, and I fell in love.
If you love being in love, falling in love, you will love this book.
OH what a slow burn this story was. And let me tell you it was sizzling. But the suspense that is completely intertwined into this story is absolutely stunning. Perry has a way with words that will wrap you into the story and Riven Knight will do just that. The tension between Isaiah and Genevieve is intense. Not just the sensual type! I adore how these two are there for each other regardless of what gets thrown at them! How they meshed and opened up. Then that ending! OMG! My mind is just spinning from it. Honestly, Perry gives you this unique and twisted ride and you will never want to get off.
Overall, this story was amazing addition to the series and leaves me begging for more. I love how Perry has characters intertwined and how they are all a part of each others lives. The character build, the stunning and suspenseful story, just everything. I live for Devney Perry’s words and they are must read!
Well Devney Perry can write! She gives all the feels in a book and Riven Knight does that. I loved Isaiah and Genevieve’s story! I was drawn in. It all happened so fast but their connection develops over time, not rushed and real.
I love the storyline, the plot twists, the characters who are so well written and make them real. It was full of suspense and speculation that kept me wanting more. Most of all- it brought 2 people together in an unconventional way but was a story I loved.
I cannot wait for Stone Princess!
Picking up right where Gypsy Kings left off, Riven Knight, book 2 in the outstanding Tin Gypsy MC series grips you from the get go, this time focusing on Genevieve and Isaiah. With her estranged Dad Draven up on murder charges for killing her mother, Genevieve doesn’t want to be anywhere near him. But his insistence of his innocence has her digging deeper into the Tin Gypsy’s history, unaware of the skeletons she may discover.
With a murderer still at large and no sign of discovering who he is, everyone is on high alert. No one but Genevieve and Isaiah know what happened up in the cabin in the woods, and they’ve gone to great lengths to keep it that way. But with a rival MC gang wanting answers, will their secrets be revealed?
The mystery and suspense that greets you from the beginning had me hooked straight away. This series is indeed a complex group of stories that intertwine and will eventually lead us to the truth. The way Devney has written this story is fascinating, the depth and detail gone into the book envelops you firmly in its grips and doesn’t let go, even at the end! With every answer unearthed, another question arises, so hold on tight for this bumpy ride!
Definitely a huge 5 star read!
