From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a small town, fake relationship romance.Genevieve Daylee didn’t expect to be standing in front of a judge on her twenty-seventh birthday. But ever since her life became entangled with a former motorcycle gang, she’s learned not to expect anything but trouble. Her mother, a woman she once admired and adored, is gone, leaving behind a trail of … gone, leaving behind a trail of secrets and lies. She’s living in a tiny apartment above a garage owned by her brother, a man who loathes her very existence. And the father she met beside her mother’s grave is as much of a stranger as Isaiah Reynolds, the broken man with soulless eyes standing beside her in front of the judge.
Isaiah is her protector from the murderer at large in Clifton Forge. Though he’s more like a riven knight in dented armor than a prince on a white stallion. She knows next to nothing about him, other than he works as a mechanic. As of tonight, he’ll be sharing her bathroom.
And, according to the judge, Isaiah is now her husband.

Riven Knight is the second book in the Tin Gypsy series. While this book does feature a new couple, it must be read after Gypsy King because there is an underlying plot that continues on through this book.
This book was a slow burn and I loved it so much. Genevieve and Isaiah’s story starts off as a marriage of convenience after their brief meeting in book one. They are complete opposites but that doesn’t deter them from staying close to one another.
Genevieve moves to Clifton Forge not only because of her unexpected marriage to Isaiah but because she is trying to find out who murdered her mother and who was behind her kidnapping. She wants answers and knows those answers reside in the last town her mother was alive in.
Isaiah is running from his past but also trying to start fresh in a new town where no one really knows him. He’s served his time for his crime and now wants to move on with his life. However, he never expected to be sharing his tiny apartment with another person, especially a woman that he is to married to. Isaiah never wanted to get married after everything he went through, but here he is protecting a woman every day from the evils that neither of them can escape.
Devney layers this story with so much. Genevieve and Isaiah are battling their own issues but also protecting one another from what really happened in the cabin when she was kidnapped. Isaiah wants to protect Genevieve as much as he can, but she also wants to find out who was behind everything that has happened to her.
I absolutely loved the pace of this book. Genevieve and Isaiah slowly to get to know one another as the months progress and things start to settle between them. Genevieve is getting to know her birth father more and more along with settling in a new town. There is so much that goes on but it all blends so well together.
Riven Knight is just as gripping and entertaining as Gypsy King and is a great follow up to the first book. It also opens up more opportunities for future books and keeps the readers vested in these characters. While I feel that one part of the story ended too easily with a confession, it didn’t hurt the overall vibe of the book. Devney definitely kept readers on their toes and through in a few twists that no one will see coming.
Bring on the next book in this series!!
I am always in awe of Devney Perry’s writing ability. Her stories are so captivating, so complex and yet at the soul it comes down to love. I loved Riven Knight and everything that stood for. It a slow burn and just perfect as Genevieve and Isaiah navigated a life they didn’t think would be for them. Another five star read from Devney.
I had been waiting for this for what felt like forever. I was super excited and curious to read Isaiah and Genevieve’s story. A marriage for convenience is always so fun and good, add in all the suspenseful goodness of this series and I thought I was in for something amazing but I must have had too high expectations because I didn’t enjoy Riven Knight as much as Gypsy King.
This was a slow burn that had me a bit frustrated and as much as I loved Isaiah I hated how indifferent he acted towards Genevieve and after all that she had just been through so recently, reading about how Isaiah’s actions made her feel really bothered me.
Even still, I liked them as a couple, they fit so well and their emotional bagagge made it one hell of an emotional roller coaster at times, specially when Devney blindsided us with a major bomb. I kind of hate her for it. I hadn’t expected to cry and it wasn’t a pleasant surprise. My heart hurt for all these characters. And there’s still so much to know, even though the mystery around the murder from Gypsy King was solved and we get some answers. I feel like we are also left with more questions and curiosites about what happens next. I am curious and scared about what’s coming in Stone Princess.
I absolutely loved this story! This is one of those books that captivate you with all the glorious feels. These two characters seriously worked their way into my heart.
Genevieve and Isaiah are two strangers who become instantly connected by one moment and one action. Now they have to live a lie to save themselves. That will be more difficult than they thought, especially when their simmering attraction turns into an inferno waiting to combust.
Devney Perry does an outstanding job portraying the anguish of these characters. She enables you to feel their highs and lows, riding the emotional roller coaster of their lives. I became emotionally invested in this book and thoroughly enjoyed the roller coaster!
I highly recommend this book! I love sinking into the worlds Perry creates and never want to leave! Can’t wait for book 3!
4.25 Stars
What a fantastic book. Once again Devney Perry took me on an amazing and intriguing journey together with these characters, where I couldn’t drop the book until reading ended.
In this second volume of the Tin Gypsy series we have the story of two characters who had a brief appearance in the first book of the series: Genevieve and Isaiah and I recommend reading the books in order to be able to fully understand the story since even though this book tells the story of another couple, the suspense continues where the first book left off.
Genevieve and Isaiah are two people who are fragile, he from past guilt and she from having to digest the new changes in her life and deal with the loss of her mother.Their relationship started out as two married strangers, but over time we could keep up with their relationship and I loved every page of it. I think the author did a good job with them and everything happened at the right time.
The suspense of the story and the mystery surrounding the lives of these characters was a big one of the story and brought a rhythm to the story. In these books we finally have answers and an outcome to the murder of Genevieve’s mother and the course caught me off guard, I really didn’t see it coming.
River Knight is a book that has romance, lies, betrayal, twists from start to finish, and although it has an ending to the suspense of the story that began in the previous book, we already know Presley’s story is coming, and I can’t wait to see it. what the author reserves for her.
4.5 Stars
Riven Knight is the second book in the Tin Gypsy series and I highly recommend reading them in order. Picking up right where Gypsy King left off, burning questions are answered and the consequences of what happened up on that mountain are revealed.
As usual Devney’s talent for storytelling is front and center, weaving a tale that kept me on the edge of my seat and begging for more. While I struggled a bit with the first book this one pulled me in from the very beginning, and I couldn’t put it down. I love Isaiah & Genevieve, both on their own and together. The slow burn of their relationship was absolutely perfect, and the character growth was written so beautifully. As their relationship blossomed so did they and together they became the perfect team, despite their circumstances.
Throughout the book, I convinced myself I had figured everything out, yet twists and turns were constantly thrown out keeping me on my toes. All the questions that had been building up since book 1 were finally answered, and the payoff was definitely worth it. And that build-up for book 3? I can’t wait!!
This book is an emotional rollercoaster, full of suspense & intrigue and I highly recommend it!
Holy freaking cow! That is the best way I can put it without adding any swear words because OMG what a ride I’ve just been on!
Oh my goodness this book was everything!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Devney gets better and better with each and every single book she releases! Riven Knight was just pure slow burn perfection!
We pick up with Genevieve and Isaiah where it leaves off from Gypsy King. Both of them standing in front of a judge about to get married. When it left off like that in Gypsy King I about threw a fit needing to know what in the actual heck was going on! Well buckle up and get ready for one hell of a rollercoaster of a ride, because you’re going to need it with this one.
This was just pure Devney at her best. The slow burn chemistry between Genevieve and Isaiah. Plot twist after plot twist, that has you constantly trying to figure out who is the one framing Draven for Genevieve’s mom’s murder.
I honestly couldn’t read this fast enough to find out what was going to happen in the world of the Tin Gypsy’s! This is without a doubt a huge 5 Star read for me and I cannot wait to see what happens next with the Tin Gypsy’s in Stone Princess!
5 Stars!!
If I could give this book ten stars I would! A slow burning love story between two almost strangers. Suspense, mystery and family, with an ending that blew me away.
We learned about Clifton Forge, Montana it’s former MC, and a cast of amazing characters in Tin Gypsy. Struggling to get past and solve a viscous murder is still weighing heavy on the town. Two people, Genevieve and Isaiah, are the most affected by the terrible event. Genevieve is the victim’s daughter, who has suddenly packed up and moved to Clifton Forge from Denver with out an explanation. Isaiah is an ex-con who works at the garage owned by the former bikers. Isaiah saved Genevieve’s life, now she needs to save Isaiah the only way she can, by marrying him.
The twists and turns, the slow burning romance between Genevieve and Isaiah and the need to know what happens next prevented me from doing anything but read this book! This series of romantic suspense should not be missed!

I have been itching to get my hands on Genevieve Daylee and Isaiah Reynolds’s story from the moment I was done with the Tin Gypsy series starter, Gypsy King. After the events in book one, as well as that peek into what could be awaiting Genevieve and Isaiah in book two, I needed to know how everything would play out, and suffice it to say, Devney Perry penned one hell of an intriguing story in Riven Knight. Because there’s one particular story line that was left unresolved the first book that carries over in this second book, I highly recommend that Gypsy King and Riven Knight be read in order. Trust me, you’ll be happy you did because both books are so intoxicatingly addictive.
Ah, this book… From the moment I began reading it, there was simply no putting it down. Genevieve and Isaiah’s story had me mesmerized. These two were essentially stuck together for the foreseeable future, and it wasn’t as if getting to know each other was a given, even with the life-changing manner in which they’d met. I loved seeing them build their relationship from the ground up–earning the other’s trust and becoming comfortable with one another. Nothing was rushed, which I appreciated, and along with the evolution of their relationship from strangers to friends to lovers and more, one thing remained: Genevieve and Isaiah rescued each other in more ways than one. The suspense and mystery elements were superbly done by Devney Perry, and she maintained a much-needed balance between those and the romance. I shed tears over Riven Knight, which gets five-plus stars.
Riven Knight by Devney Perry is book two in her Tin Gypsy Series. For best reading experience I recommend to read the books in order. The previous book, Gypsy King tells Dash and Bryce’s story.
Riven Knight is Genevieve and Isaiah’s book.
Genevieve is the daughter of Draven and half-sister of Dash. Both are through a lot to put it mildly. They are tangled with the former Tin Gypsy MC members, a rival MC and they’re still in danger from the kidnapper who took Genevieve and Bryce.
I started reading and oh boy, the suspense had me in knots. Riven Knight is a complex story, a slow burn, excellent written and beautifully thought out and beautifully told that gave me all the feels.
Next up is the conclusion to the trilogy, Stone Princess.
Loved this story!
Isaiah’s story is here and I am living for it! We first met Isaish (briefly) in Tragic (Lark Cove series book 3) and I have been waiting patiently for his story ever since! This story did not disappoint. This felt like a somewhat different take on slow-burn/marriage of convenience to me; where the H and the h really and truly didn’t know each other. Now they have to learn to navigate through a shared traumatic experience while also pretending they are in love…that’s a lot to handle!
While the story did take a bit to be fully engrossing (I wanted more connectivity between Isaiah & Genevieve initially), I fully understand why it was written this way; the reader needed to feel the awkwardness the way Genevieve and Isaiah did in the beginning. The reader needed to grow with them.
While this can be read as a stand-alone, I would suggest reading the books in order as you will get the most out of the story.
Now to wait for book 3…agh the torture!
5 He’s Her Safe Place Stars!!!
What happens when two very broken people come together? In this case, they heal each other in ways that neither expected. Both Isaiah and Genevieve have made my heart hurt for very different reasons and as I was reading this newest book by Ms. Perry and the second in this series, I was captivated by their story.
There’s elements that I wasn’t expecting… I mean I knew there would be a suspense element to it, but holy cow… I wasn’t expecting what we got that’s for sure. Ms. Perry has created this world that I want to just immerse myself in. Our H/h have a true slow burn of a romance for a multitude of reasons one of which is they’re afraid to express their feelings because what happens if they’re not reciprocated. Watching this beautiful woman come into her own and find the love of a man that needs to feel loved just as much as her.
I love how Ms. Perry crafts her stories and I’m ALL IN when it comes to her books. Genevieve and Isaiah have touched my soul and their story is one that builds throughout the book with little revelations here and there that bring everything full circle. But don’t let this fool you. The ending to this book had me both smiling and now waiting anxiously for Stone Princess because there’s something coming down the pike that could have repercussions unlike any before!!
This series has had me gripped since I read the first chapter of Gypsy King and this book has taken my addiction to a whole new level. I loved this fake marriage to lovers story. The slow burn between Genevieve and Isaiah gave me butterflies as well as a serious amount of cussing.
This book became the biggest whodunnit since “Who shot JR” back in the 80s!! Whilst some questions were answered others were not! So I’m still on tender hooks wanting to know the beef between the Gypsies and the Warriors.
One part did completely shocked me. I had to reread the chapter as I thought I misunderstood. I hadn’t!! Damn you Devney Perry, you broke me heart. It’s still broken. Not sure I can forgive you for what you did!! Finishing on a great ending and nicely leading into book 3, I can’t wait to see what happens and hopefully have my one remaining question answered!!
Riven Knight….was bittersweet! I’m still in shock about what went down in book 2 but Devney did not disappoint. She definitely threw so much into this book. So much going on with these 2 characters alone it gets amped up with all the other side characters in the book. I loved the suspense and totally didn’t see that plot twist coming! Read now!
I honestly didn’t know if the next book in this series would be more amazing than the first one was, but holy cow!!! Completely blew me away.
I adored everything about this book. So very much. The characters have all found their way into my heart, and settled in deeply. I loved that they were unique in their own way, and real enough that you couldn’t help but fall in love with all of them.
This book was full of sweet and tender moments, as well as thrilling and sometimes a little scary moments. Each one had me tearing up (In a good way!) or eyes wide & breath held waiting to see what will happen.
I absolutely enjoyed each and every page of this story, and devoured it in no time flat. Incredibly done!!
OBSESSED! I am completely and utterly obsessed with this series. It’s everything and more! The characters are incredible and the storyline is addicting. If I thought Gypsy King knocked my socks off—then Riven Knight blew the whole roof off. I can’t get enough and I desperately crave more.
Riven Knight is the second book in the Tin Gypsy series and it was so much more than I could’ve expected. We were left with so many questions at the end of Gypsy King and finally got the answers we were waiting for. But just when I thought things couldn’t possibly have my head reeling, another unexpected turn took its course—it had me clutching my heart and not believing the turn of events. What a wild, crazy and action packed ride.
Genevieve has suffered an unimaginable loss. She finds herself seeking answers and justice. Never would she have expected in trying to get those answers she’d find herself in a marriage of convenience put together under unforeseen circumstances.
Isaiah broke my heart. I hurt for him and what he thought of himself. He’s struggling with a dark past and the consequences that accompany it. He doesn’t think himself worthy of happiness, but honest to goodness he deserves it more than anyone. He may be broody, but underneath he’s good and has such a good heart.
Genevieve and Isaiah’s romance brought so many feels. Their romance is a slowburn that has so much tension and passion packed with feelings. They go through so much together—pain, heartbreak and suffering. Though in the end they’ll come out stronger because of it. I couldn’t get enough of these two, they simply stole my heart and I don’t want it back.
Riven Knight took me on a ride filled with intrigue, action, suspense and emotion. A twist there and a turn here with a couple of surprises along the way. I can’t get enough of these characters and can’t wait to learn more about a few of them. I’m an addict to this world that Devney’s created and I never want it to end. I can’t wait for what’s to come in the addicting and mind-blowing Tin Gypsy series.
MUST READ
When I finished Gypsy King, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Riven Knight. I had a million and one questions about Isaiah and Genevieve and couldn’t wait to find out my answers…
Riven Knight picks up right where Gypsy King left off and took my heart for one wild, heart-breaking ride. Riven Knight follows the story of Genevieve and Isaiah. At first glance, their situation appears to be nothing more than a marriage of convenience, a lie. But there is so much more to Genevieve and Isaiah’s story than meets the eye. They did what they did keep each other safe and to hopefully put some ghosts to rest. But, what they didn’t count on was the very real danger Genevieve would be put in. They didn’t count on their walls being shattered and for feelings to stir. Will Isaiah be able to keep Genevieve safe? Will Genevieve break through Isaiah’s walls and bring him back to life? Will Genevieve ever find out who murdered her mother? Those questions and many more will be answered in Riven Knight.…
Riven Knight is a well written and heart-breaking story. This book hits the ground running and never looks back. The characters are real and flawed and perfectly imperfect. Their story-line is captivating and will have you begging for more. There is romance. There is drama. There is danger and action. There are shocking twists and turns that will leave you hanging on every word. Riven Knight was everything I wanted, needed and then some. This book isn’t just a love story. It is a story of family. A story of hope. A story of forgiveness and revenge. Genevieve and Isaiah were both broken and hurt by their pasts, and I for one couldn’t help but root for these two to find their happily ever after.
There’s not much else to say about Riven Knight other than I loved it. From beginning to end, I just loved it. I had the best time getting swept up in Genevieve and Isaiah’s story and can not wait to see what Devney Perry has in store for us next.
Devney Perry’s stories are always delightful, so full of heart and life. In this case, we have a fake marriage and a murder investigation. We have a daughter mourning her mother, devastated by her loss but also angry. Angry because she lost her mother to a murderer who hasn’t been caught, and angry because she finds herself in a situation she didn’t ask for and she isn’t happy about. The story is slow and sad and it’s such a necessary ambience for the story because it presents Genevieve’s mood so accurately.
Elijah is part of the crew in Dash’s garage. He was the aloof one, the one who didn’t chat a lot and kept to himself but was always willing to work as hard as necessary. Genevieve is the daughter of Amina, the woman murdered in the first book, Tin Gypsy. It was discovered that Genevieve is also the product of a fling between her mother and Draven, and therefore is Dash’s sister. She was also the one kidnapped with Bryce, Dash’s girlfriend, in the first book. There’s a murderer at large, and yet the police has pinned Draven as the culprit. Draven used to be the Prez of the Tin Gypsies MC. Even though the club disbanded years ago, the specter of their fame and past misdeeds is still very much alive.
We don’t know why yet, but Isaiah and Genevieve decided to get married. They want to present a united and in love front to the crew, but they are so stiff nobody buys the story. Yet, they persevere in their story and Genevieve finds a job with the local lawyer. The feeling of the story is the endless days of living a lie, monotonous and routine, of a sadness that doesn’t abate, and an anger at everyone. Genevieve is having a hard time accepting her father, facing her half-brother’s indifference, and living the frustration of not seeing justice for her mother.
“I’m mad because I’m mad. It’s all I feel most days and I can’t even grieve my mother because the anger trumps everything else. Bryce wants to publish a memorial article about Mom, but I can’t stand to read it. I don’t want to remember how great she was because in here,” I touched my heart, “she isn’t great. It feels . . . wrong. Because if she was so great, then I wouldn’t be painting this apartment, hoping it will feel just a little more like the home I’ve been missing since some bastard butchered her at the Evergreen Motel.”
I hurt for poor Genevieve, since she feels alone in the world, navigating a new town, new job, new fake husband in a new fake marriage, and living in close quarters with a fake husband who is practically a stranger. All this while processing her pain. And on top of all that, they live above the garage where Isaiah works with Dash, Emmet, Joe, Presley, and Draven. Bryce, Dash’s girlfriend, is a reporter who visits frequently and they are friends. It’s a challenge since observation and asking questions is Bryce’s forte.
There are very sweet parts where Draven invites Genevieve for Sunday breakfasts to get to know her. Little by little a father-daughter relation develops, followed by love. I loved those parts! For a fearsome guy, he sure behaved like a tender, protective dad to his new-found daughter!
Even though the story starts slow and sad, is slowly starts to acquire action, feelings, passion and lust. Poor Genevieve passes through a lot and I felt for her so hard. She feels weak, but she demonstrates how strong she is. She also starts to need and depend on Isaiah for support and strength. I loved reading how initially they would hold hands as a show of marriage, then their hand-holding became a show of unity, and ultimately, it was a show of support and love. They were both good and kind persons and it was inevitable they would fall in love. Isaiah has feelings of unworthiness for being an ex-con and guilt for a past secret. His eyes initially are dead and flat, no life. At the end, they are brilliant and shiny, full of life and love and laughter.
There’s drama, nail-biting suspense, tear-jerking loss, danger and intrigue. And above all this, a whole lot of love between family, friends and the sexy kind. I was thrilled to see Kaine and Piper from Lark Cove, and glad to see them so happy with kids. Kaine is Isaiah’s older brother and they had a strained relation for reasons explained in the book.
I loved the whole story, think the writing is brilliant and loved all the characters, except the baddies, whom I cheerfully hated. Presley’s story is next and it promises to be awesome!
4.5 stars
Devney Perry delivers yet again with a dramatic, suspenseful and beautifully emotional story featuring a broken hero, a marriage of convenience, and a slow-burning romance that will melt your heart. Isaiah and Genevieve’s story is heartbreaking and sweet, and so, so gorgeous. I loved it!
The second book in the Tin Gypsy series, this book takes us back to the small town of Clifton Forge, and picks up after the events of Gypsy King. I wouldn’t recommend reading this one as a standalone, and I don’t want to spoil anything from the first book so I’ll be keeping my review vague.
Isaiah and Genevieve met under intense circumstances during the climactic events of Gypsy King. Something happened between them in a cabin in the woods, and this book begins with Genevieve having moved into Isaiah’s apartment in Clifton Forge and the two of them getting married (for reasons which are revealed throughout the book).
It’s all kinds of awkward given that they barely know each other, and though they both accept their situation, they are strangers who don’t really know how to relate to each other. There is attraction there, but Genevieve’s life has literally just been turned upside down, and Isaiah has been through hell in his past and doesn’t feel worthy of anything good in his life. And they entered into the marriage knowing it would only be a temporary arrangement, so they’re just doing what they need to do in the meantime. It’s a heartbreaking setup, but it provides the building blocks for an amazing story as two broken people find themselves in a unique and life-changing situation, forced to lean on each other for the support they both crave.
“Isaiah looked in the mirror and saw everlasting broken pieces, but maybe my broken pieces would fit with his. Together, maybe we’d make a whole.”
In a delicious twist that had me all kinds of excited, Isaiah is the brother of Kaine, from Tragic (book #3 of the Lark Cove series). Tragic is probably my favourite Perry book, so seeing that tie-in and getting to revisit parts of that story was an unexpected bonus. If you’re familiar with that book then you’ll know some of the issues that Isaiah is dealing with, and I could absolutely understand his heartache and his need to protect Genevieve and try to keep his distance.
“It was unbearable to be around her, knowing she’d eventually leave. It was exhausting to keep her at arm’s length when all I wanted to do was hold her close.”
And though Genevieve is dealing with her own hell, her strength and bravery astounded me. Again, I could feel what she was going through and my heart broke for her, but I loved how she followed her heart, being there for Isaiah, allowing him to be there for her, and pushing him when he needed it. She’s the strong driving force that propels their relationship forward, and I loved watching it slowly and tentatively develop.
“Isaiah, you’re the sexiest, most handsome man I’ve seen in my life. And your heart? When you let me in, you literally steal my breath away.”
Their love story unfolds amidst a sea of drama. Continuing the storyline from the first book, there is a murder-mystery to be solved, secrets, lies and betrayal, danger on their doorstep just waiting to pounce, and a whole lot of family drama. It’s all woven together beautifully to create a read that kept me captivated, with surprises, twists and turns, a few tears, and, of course, that slow-burning romance that just build beautifully throughout the book.
“If my heart left her breathless, then hers gave me a reason to breathe.”
Oh swoon!
Perry brought all the feels with this book, and I loved the journey. There is closure for the main suspense storyline, but threads are there for Presley’s book up next, and I am so freaking excited to see what is coming for her. I loved the tie-in to the Lark Cove series, with some fantastic character crossover, and make sure you get the bonus epilogue at the end… it’s beautiful and provides a truly satisfying finish to the story.
I loved this one!
Let me start off by saying that this could be read as a standalone… BUT DON’T READ IT AS A STANDALONE! It would totally ruin it. There were so many questions from book one that were left unanswered and you find out ALL the answers in book two.
This is a series that you definitely shouldn’t bounce around reading.
So Riven Knight starts where Gypsy King ended. THANK GOODNESS because I needed to know ALL THE THINGS!
We met both of the main characters in book one but you may remember our hero’s name from way back when… he is the brother of Kaine Reynolds from Tragic, book three of the Lark Cove series!
Man, I love when characters from past books are mentioned and brought back into a new series! I get all giddy.
Anyways, I’m getting off track.
This is in the same suspense range as Gypsy King…obviously, because it’s all surrounding one woman’s death. Our heroine’s mother.
And we find out exactly what happened that day. And the day in the woods. And why Isaiah and Genevieve are suddenly showing up and living together in Clifton Forge.
