From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a small town, fake relationship romance.Genevieve Daylee didn’t expect to be standing in front of a judge on her twenty-seventh birthday. But ever since her life became entangled with a former motorcycle gang, she’s learned not to expect anything but trouble. Her mother, a woman she once admired and adored, is gone, leaving behind a trail of … gone, leaving behind a trail of secrets and lies. She’s living in a tiny apartment above a garage owned by her brother, a man who loathes her very existence. And the father she met beside her mother’s grave is as much of a stranger as Isaiah Reynolds, the broken man with soulless eyes standing beside her in front of the judge.
Isaiah is her protector from the murderer at large in Clifton Forge. Though he’s more like a riven knight in dented armor than a prince on a white stallion. She knows next to nothing about him, other than he works as a mechanic. As of tonight, he’ll be sharing her bathroom.
And, according to the judge, Isaiah is now her husband.

Devney Perry has once again written a page-turner with compelling characters that I devoured in less than a day.
In Riven Knight we get Isaiah and Genevieve’s story. Neither were members of the Tin Gypsy motorcycle club, but both are tied to it in different ways. Isaiah works at the auto garage run by some former members of the club, and Genevieve’s father is a former member and her mother’s murder has brought her to town.
The build up from acquaintances thrown together in a dangerous situation to friends to more was really well done. They run through the gamut of emotions from grief to anger to forgiveness and happiness. Just as with Gypsy King, I found myself drawn in by Devney Perry’s excellent storytelling abilities and I can’t wait for book three!
This marriage of convenience story was introduced in the last book as were the events that propel much of the plot here. The author did a nice job of recapping the action and making sure readers understand how events connect back to book one. I would definitely still recommend reading Gypsy King first, though.
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
Do yourself the biggest favor and one click this book ASAP. You can not miss out on this suspenseful and emotional story that is also simultaneously heartbreakingly beautiful.
I could. not. put. it. down. And after all the twists, turns, and OMG! moments were done my heart was so full and happy because of what this amazing couple had achieved. I mean honestly…What could the inevitable outcome be when two people who are so broken, AND don’t even know each other get married? Well it seems to have more unhappiness written all over it than one could even begin to imagine….. and yet you find yourself so invested in these two people from the get go. You can’t help but become eager participants in their emotional journey. And we are desperate for them to find some sort of comfort and any happiness they can eek out together. Because no two people deserve peace and solace as much as Genevieve and Isaiah do.
With Riven Knight, Devney Perry elevates the Tin Gypsy series to hit its stride. Lingering questions were answered. Edge of my seat suspense was delivered. And an emotional, sexy, slow burn romance satisfied on every level.
Honestly, the transformation of Isaiah over the course of this story was nothing short of spectacular. He was this beautifully broken hero – and watching him come back to life, to basically blossom with Genevieve, was such a marvelous thing to witness. I adored him so fiercely. And I loved his relationship with Genevieve – who was the perfect strong, patient, steadfast match for him. I loved how they took turns holding each other up. I loved how sweetly their feelings for each other seemed to dawn on them. This love story was just perfect!
On top of that, I was held spellbound by the suspense. As the mystery began to unravel – I sat captivated, pulse pounding, while the puzzle pieces fell into place. I loved every twist and turn, and how this unlikely band of characters became family as they worked together.
And y’all – this is only book two. I think there is so much more in store for these characters — and a morsel of that was dangled in front of us with the ending of this book. I am here for it. All of it. This series is just ramping up and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
What an emotional, heartbreaking, suspense filled 2nd book in the Tin Gypsy Series!
This book picks up right where the first one left off perfectly. Genevieve and Isaiah’s marriage of convenience story has such heart, and her characters have such depth, especially in their grief.
I loved how all of Devney’s families have become interconnected with each other through this series. Getting to peek in on how they are doing is such a treat for the reader. I can’t wait to read the next in the series!
‘”I should let you go” – he tucked a lock of hair behind my ear – “but I’m not going to.”
“It wouldn’t work anyway. Where you go, I go, remember?”‘
“It had become something of a habit for us—linking hands. At first, it had been the easiest way to show the world we were a couple, far less stressful than a kiss or even a hug. But then it had evolved. It had become . . . more. We were united. We were a team. We were in this together, until the end.”
A marriage of convenience coupled with a slow burn romance equals a beautifully written, emotion-filled story. Devney Perry at her finest! I can’t wait for the next installment of this series.
It’s no secret that Devney Perry is one of my go-to authors for contemporary romance. Her characters and storylines have a way of grabbing us readers and not letting go, and her books always make my ‘favorites’ list. RIVEN KNIGHT, the second book in Devney’s Tin Gypsy series, and her latest book, firmly cements her place in my must-read category, and made for one of my recent favorites.
Although Devney’s books always have some sort of suspense, and angst to boot, I felt like she was taking things to another level with the advent of the Tin Gypsy series. I mean, a former motorcycle club, of all things. Not what I was used to from her, but I was all in anyway, and GYPSY KING (Book 1) made for a fantastic start to this new series. Subsequent books don’t always pack the same punch for me, but let me just say that RIVEN KNIGHT was just as engrossing, well-paced, and filled with surprises, and hooked me even more into the world of the Gypsies, and I was sorry to see it end.
When you find that thing that just does it for you, it’s nice to know that there is plenty more to come, and I am so excited to know that this is set to be a longer run of books, because I can’t imagine all of the twists, turns, surprises, and HEAs that Devney has planned for us. RIVEN KNIGHT is worth every single star, and a definite recommend from me. If you haven’t checked out the fine folks of Clifton Forge, MT, you simply must.
Arrrrgh Devney!! What have you done to me with this book?!
This book had EVERYTHING I could have wanted and so much more. After being left wondering what was going on with Isaiah and Genevieve in Gypsy King, we finally get our answers.
And I tell you now, it’s NOT what you may have thought. It is so much more… the jaw-dropping twists, heart-stopping and heartbreaking moments in this story had me with ALL THE FEELS!!!
Isaiah and Genevieve are both broken characters. Both having been through so much. Isaiah is such a brooding mess of a man, but he is so worth it. And Genevieve is also perfect in every way. The strength these two have is just brilliant!
This slow-burn, dramatic story is full of suspense. A rollercoaster of emotions which Will leave you breathless, turning page after page!
100% MUST-READ!
Fasten your seatbelt because you’re in for quite the wild ride with Riven Knight. You’re going to need to be safely secured with all the twists and turns this unputdownable story takes at high speeds! Holy hell, Riven Knight is only book two in this fantastic Tin Gypsy series and I cannot wait for more!
Isaiah had my attention from book one. His mysterious past kept me intrigued—and the snippet of his appearance with Genevieve only furthered my curiosity. And damn if that curiosity wasn’t rewarded.
So many questions were answered in this fast-paced, action packed story. Questions about Genevieve, Isaiah, Dash, Draven, Leo and more. I truly couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to read what happened next.
Between the romance that blossomed between Isaiah and Genevieve, the breadcrumbs that led to the answers to the true killer from the murder in Tin Gypsy, to the love and devotion of family—blood and chosen—I was spellbound. And riveted. And quite honestly shocked when I came to the end.
An end I didn’t foresee. Nor did the story foretell. And I cannot wait for more in this series.
I freaking love Devney Perry, with every book she releases she gets better and better. I have yet to read a book from Devney that I haven’t loved from the first page till the last.
Riven Knight is filled with twist and turns that it will have you guessing throughout the book. Its jammed pack with amazing chemistry between our main characters Genevieve and Isaiah. Throw in a touch of suspense and you have the perfect Devney book.
This book picks up right up from Gypsy King and focuses around the relationship of Genevieve and Isaiah. We caught a glimpse of their sudden marriage in the first book but in Riven Knight, we see how that relationship started and what their relationship ultimately turned into.
For me this book answered so many questions that we were left with at the end of the first book in the series, but it also gave me those moments where I was filled with grief for Genevieve when she was learning about her mother’s murder and who killed her, the angst towards toward Dash and his treatment towards Genevieve and that butterflies in your stomach feeling when I saw the relationship between Genevieve and Isaiah blossom. It was a journey filled with emotions and drama.
Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t consume it quick enough. I was hooked, and I never wanted it to end. I seriously can’t wait to see what happens in this series.
4.5 stars
This is the second book in the Tin Gypsy series and the story continues with a different couple.
Genevieve has had a rough time of it lately. Losing her mother in a brutal murder, been kidnapped and now she’s marrying a virtual stranger, it seems like it’s one thing after another for her. Isaiah isn’t over the moon about his current situation either but it’s a case of dealing with it and doing what’s best for both of them. I loved Isaiah. He doesn’t wear his heart on his sleeve but he’s definitely got one hidden inside and the more you get to know him the easier this is to see.
This is not an insta love story. Both Genevieve and Isaiah have a lot to lose, they’re both battling their own demons and pasts and trying to make their new situation work. Their relationship is a slow burn as they learn more about each other and a bond forms between them. With the trial for Genevieves mothers murder approaching will their truths and other people’s truths finally come out?
This is another great book in this series and Im unbelievably excited for the Stone Princess and Presley’s story next.
Riven Knight is the second book in the Tin Gypsy series by Devney Perry and it continues right after Gypsy King ends.
I devoured this book. It was everything and more that I hoped it would be.
A broken man and a woman who’s life came crashing down after her mother was killed. A marriage of convenience put together under unforeseen circumstances.
Genevieve and Isaiah’s story is not a insta love story. These two people go through pain, heartbreak and suffering.
Love that Genevieve never gave up finding her mother’s killer.
I literally couldn’t put the book down!! Like I said before Devney Perry is an amazing storyteller.
Now the wait for Stone Princess starts!
5 AMAZING STARS!!
It’s here! I’ve been waiting for this book to find out exactly what the what happened between Genevieve and Isaiah and wow. Just wow. I need a minute…I’m still breathless after finishing Riven Knight. Not surprising as Devney Perry wrote it, but still, this one was captivating from the start.
There was something about Genevieve that made me want all the best things for her. Maybe it was her sadness with the brutal way she lost her mother. Anger for what happened to her at the cabin. Frustration for the situation she found herself in with Isaiah. But I loved that no matter what circumstances life threw at her, she faced them head on and didn’t back down.
And right by her side was Isaiah. I loved his quiet strength. How he put everything on the line to protect Genevieve (and himself). But I hated how he doubted himself. He was so much more than he gave himself credit for. More than the mistakes of his past. Thankfully, he had Genevieve to help him learn that. It took some time, and a lot of patience but little by little, she tore down his wall of self loathing.
And amidst their budding romance was this growing tension between The Warrior’s and the group of former Tim Gypsy’s. The Warriors wanted answers where there were none to be had. Or were there…As pieces of that story unfolded, more questions popped up. Nothing made sense, until it did.
Holy cow! I didn’t see that wild twist coming at all. Talk about mind blowing! There was so much happening and the way Devney Perry took threads of this and that and wove it together truly left me speechless. Genevieve and Isaiah’s super slow-burning romance melted my heart and left me yearning for more.
*4,5 stars*
This is the second book in this series and the story of Genevieve and Isaiah. It picks up where Gypsy King ended and sets the tone of yet another suspenseful read. One that may unravel all the secrets that have been hidden… I really can’t wait for the next one in this series, especially after that ending!
After everything Genevieve has been through, she can’t believe that she’s in the town where the mystery of her mother’s murder still lives on. With no one else to turn to, she and Isaiah try to build a new life to hid what’s underneath the surface. Although they both know very little about each other, they have only each other to rely on and stay safe together. With her father’s trial coming up, they don’t know what the future holds. Both are trying to discover the truth but danger still lurks around every corner. Will they finally be able to discover all the secrets and live their life free?…
Title: Riven Knight (Tin Gypsy Book 2)
Author: Devney Perry
Genre: Contemporary romance
My rating: 5 ++
—————————————
Five stars all the way! What a rush! Definitely worth the wait.
Let me start by saying Riven Knight is everything you’re looking for in a book. Mysterious, edgy, and lot’s of twists and turns. Don’t know about you but I love a good book that can’t throw off track. The final twist you will not see coming. Hope I didn’t share too much? It’s hard not to divulge all Riven Knight’s hidden gems. You want to share what’s good about it. But for the sake of not spoiling it for you all I’ll say is
Isaiah and Genevieve’s story is explosive. Their story is a tantalizing slow burn that is as agonizing as it is delicious to see unfold. Their marriage of convenience soon heats up to a blazing relationship. A real connection where they’re not only lured by attraction but to save each other from pain. They have each other’s back. But can they depend on each other even when things seem impossible? Find out for yourself! This series should not be missed.
*I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review*
Love, love, love this book!!!
I loved the first book in this series, Gypsy King, but this second installment quickly became my new favorite in the series. Marriages of convenience are becoming a favorite trope of mine and this book is one to help cement that.
After some very intense moments at the end of Gypsy King, Isaiah and Genevieve met under some very dangerous circumstances. In order to protect each other, they find themselves in front of a judge, saying “I do.” Isaiah is determined to keep Genevieve safe and when his feelings start to grow for his fake wife, he becomes more determined than ever to protect her. I loved watching them come to terms with everything they have gone through. The slow burn romance between these two was so dang good! They both have been through so much and are very broken.
I can’t wait for the next book, Stone Princess to release. This series is becoming one of my favorites of all time and I can’t wait!
Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.
Denvey Perry has quickly become a favorite author for me. No matter what she writes, I will read. It’s a given, it’s automatic. Completely mandatory! I was really excited to go back to the Tin Gypsy’s and visit this unique group Perry has created. Since I’m raving about her I’ll add on that her writing keeps getting better and better. I really can’t pull away from this Tin Gypsy series. It’s so grittier than any other her other works and the suspense-like feel of the story is impossible to put down. I knew it wasn’t going to hold the same feel as Gypsy King since the genre is slightly different. I really enjoy a well-executed marriage of convenience. I do plan to listen to the audio version to as soon as it hits Audible.
After feeling like I was left hanging on what went really down with Genevieve and Isaiah up on that mountain… didn’t we all feel seriously teased?! I know I did but we get some answers here and are given more questions setting up the next book nicely. I loved this slow burn between these two… now Isaiah drove me batty at times. He fought his attraction and desire as much as he could. Now Genevieve, I felt bad for her. She seemed so lost and lonely for a while. Hurt. She isn’t the only one struggling though. But soon these two were slowly turning their hurt and pain into more, together. For me, this was well worth the wait and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series! I can’t wait! I know there’s more mystery to come to all the people in Clifton Forge.
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Riven Knight continues the story begun in Gypsy King and wasn’t what I expected. After the quick repartee of the first book this book was a far more slower paced romance, filled with angst and depth of emotions from both the hero, Isaiah and the heroine Genevieve. Isaiah is a tattooed ex-con who doesn’t feel he deserves to be happy or have anything good in his life after the ‘crime’ that left him in prison. Circumstances find him married to Genevieve, a girl who is struggling with her own emotional baggage after the brutal murder of her mother and the discovery of the lies and secrets she had kept concealed from her daughter, most importantly the identity of who her father was. For better or worse, for their own protection they suddenly find themselves man and wife. They start off as strangers and gradually learn about each other without jumping into bed so when they finally did it had more meaning. What I loved most about this book was the slow dance between the main characters. It was definitely a case of one step forward, two steps back, all set against a background of the looming threat posed not only by the unknown murderer but also by the Gypsy Kings bitter rivals – the Arrowhead Warriors who have their own grievances with Isaiah and Genevieve.
I would definitely advise anyone looking at this book to read Gypsy King first and now I can’t wait until May and the release of Presley’s story in Stone Princess.
4.5-stars!
I absolutely loved the first book in the Tin Gypsy series, so I was very excited to get my hands on the second book. Let me tell you, Riven Knight by Devney Perry did not disappoint at all! Though I will suggest reading the books in order to truly follow the story. Genevieve Daylee and Isiah Reynolds are now in a marriage of convenience while surrounded by suspense in this slow burn romance filled with so many emotions. They each have their demons and struggles they need to overcome, but can they do it together? Absolutely loved these characters and their journey and cannot wait to see what comes next!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Gahhhh, I’m a huge fan of Devney’s, so pleaseeeeee don’t let this review think otherwise. I also think it should be illegal to rate one of her books below 4 stars…
I reallly wanted to love this one, but it didn’t quite reach what I was hoping for. If you’ve read the Devney’s previous books, you get the introduction of Isaiah and with that being said, I kind of set my expectations really high. Because my goodness, his story is not an easy one, truly heartbreaking.
It was tough for me to get through the first half of the book, there just wasn’t a whole lot happening, not only between Isaiah and Genevieve, but just in general. But things really picked up about half-way through and that’s what I was hoping for from the very beginning. Devney definitely gave us some turns that were completely blindsiding!
I did like the various story arcs going on especially between Genevieve and Dash, there was a lot of movement in that story and I really enjoyed that even if a certain someone was being a GRADE-A douchebag.
Overall, I think this one just needed more especially with the romance, I was constantly begging for it. I’m still 100% invested in this series and absolutely cannot wait for Stone Princess, I have so many questions and I’m looking forward to getting to the root of everything.
Devney, I love you forever and forever … please don’t hate me.
Amazing and beautiful, as per the standard Devney Perry has shown and set. I am never disappointed with any words she decides to put on paper. Isaiah and Genevieve will win you over from page one and prove that love will win. There will be tears, happy and sad. There will be laughter, anger, secrets and adventure. This one delivered all that and more. Welcome to Clifton Forge!
