From USA Today Bestselling Author Devney Perry comes a small town, fake relationship romance.Genevieve Daylee didn’t expect to be standing in front of a judge on her twenty-seventh birthday. But ever since her life became entangled with a former motorcycle gang, she’s learned not to expect anything but trouble. Her mother, a woman she once admired and adored, is gone, leaving behind a trail of … gone, leaving behind a trail of secrets and lies. She’s living in a tiny apartment above a garage owned by her brother, a man who loathes her very existence. And the father she met beside her mother’s grave is as much of a stranger as Isaiah Reynolds, the broken man with soulless eyes standing beside her in front of the judge.
Isaiah is her protector from the murderer at large in Clifton Forge. Though he’s more like a riven knight in dented armor than a prince on a white stallion. She knows next to nothing about him, other than he works as a mechanic. As of tonight, he’ll be sharing her bathroom.
And, according to the judge, Isaiah is now her husband.

I liked Bryce and Dash’s story a lot. I enjoyed their steamy fire but Genevieve and Isaiah’s story was just beyond amazing. I don’t know why it took me so long to connect Isaiah to Kaine from Tattered, it has been a long time since I read the Lark Cove series, but getting to know the broken but incredibly amazing man that is Isaiah was an emotional but wonderful experience. This was definitely a slow burn with both holding back on taking their fake marriage any farther than friendship despite being made for each other, but when they finally do it is something although it’s not the end of their struggle to a HEA. This book also wraps up the murder mystery from the first book and boy was I not expecting that one. I’m excited to read Presley’s story.
Another phenomenal read that had me hooked. I couldn’t wait too read Isaiah’s story and let’s say I wasn’t disappointed at all. Isaiah is so sweet and caring and definitely his story will pull at your heartstrings. Together Isaiah & Genevieve are absolutely perfect together. Another amazing read with amazing characters that I didn’t want to end.
Before reading Gypsy King (book 1 in the Tin Gypsy series) I would have said that I didn’t like MC books. At this point, I don’t know that I would say it’s moved up to being a favorite, but I definitely am enjoying Ms. Perry’s version of the genre.
Riven Knight picks up very close to the end of Gypsy King and answers the question about what happened to Genevieve and Isaiah. I enjoyed getting to know both of these characters better and seeing the layers of who they are peeled back from the glimpses we’ve seen before. It was also fun to discover that Isaiah is connected to characters from another of Ms Perry’s series.
The story surrounding Genevieve and Isaiah does an excellent job of blending their growing friendship/romance and the mystery of what happened to Genevieve’s mother. The intrigue elements and evolving relationships kept me on my toes and made it hard to put the kindle down. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what happens in Presley’s book.
Riven Knight was my most anticipated read of 2020, and I can honestly say it did not disappoint! I absolutely freaking love this series. If you enjoy MC style romances, then this series will be your jam.
This book can be read as a stand-alone, but perfectly follows on from the mystery and drama of book one, Gypsy King.
The story is about a retired motorcycle club the Tin Gypsies, and how they have all become embroiled in an ongoing murder mystery. Genevieve a young woman, is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her mother, and is desperately seeking justice, and for the real killer to be found.
But after her kidnapping and a traumatic event,Genevieve is left doing the one thing she believes will help save her, marrying her saviour Isaiah.
Isaiah is a beautifully broken man who keeps his private life private. He does not open up to anyone, and only his employers know he’s an ex-con. He is tortured and strong, and after rescuing Genevieve from captors after she was abducted, he is determined to keep her safe. No one knows what went on that evening, only them, and with their new bond, they are determined to protect one another by the only means they know how, through marriage. But can they convince everyone that they are genuinely in love?
This story is so well written. I adore Isaiah and he is my favourite character so far. He doesn’t believe he deserves to be happy, but his loyalty and strength shines through.
Genevieve is a very likeable character, and you hurt for her not having the answers and closure for her mothers death. She is struggling to adapt to the new family that surrounds her, whilst trying hard not to feel betrayed by the lies and secrets her mother left behind. She is relatable and i constantly wanted to know more about her, her life, her mother and what her future may turn out to be.
Riven Knight was utterly addictive, captivating and had me guessing at all the twists and turns, and I can’t wait to find out who the real killer is.
The perfect read for all romance lovers, MC lovers and those who enjoy suspense/mysteries.
Whew!! THIS BOOOOOOOOOOK! Genevieve had to make a decision that would not only affect her, but Isaiah as well. I liked how the reader doesn’t know all the circumstances and it takes awhile for everything to come out. This book held mystery, danger and new relationships between friends and between lovers. This book has a LOT going on. First and foremost, I wanted to know what was going on between Genevieve and Isaiah. Ooh the tension between these two *claps hands*. Genevieve has had a rough year and things seem to keep getting worse for her. My heart went out to her and I wanted things to work between her and Isaiah. He’s a good man, even though something horrible happened. There is so much depth to these characters, to what is going on with them and I couldn’t put this book down! I’m loving the Tin Gypsies and I’m anxiously awaiting the final book in this series!
The second book in the Tin Gypsy series, Riven Knight, starts exactly where Gypsy King ended.
There’s no secret I love Devney Perry’s writing, she delivers the best stories every time and Riven Knight was no exception.
What can you expect from this story? Secrets, suspense, action, romance and an amazing plot!
I loved the way Genevieve and Isaiah fell in love. After that surprise wedding, they got to know each other and their friendship bloomed into a fierce love.
Finally some secrets were revealed and criminals were arrested and I must confess I never thought about that someone as the culprit… the whole plot is amazing!!
And now we wait, in pins and needles for Stone Princess, that I have no doubt it will be amazing!
Book 2 in the Tin Gypsy series is a must read
Genevieve Daylee lost her mother and found out she had a father and two brothers.
She is kidnapped and her life threatened. Next thing she is standing in front of a judge saying view with Isaah Reynolds. It is definitely a slow burn as they navigate their lives together as strangers.
This has so many feels I just loved it so much. Cannot wait for Stone Princess.
Well what a second book in the series that was.
Couldn’t wait for this after being left hanging and wanting more at the end of Gypsy King, and we were not denied a fantastic read.
Genevieve and Isaiah’s story is full of heartbreak and heartache.
Both have come from terrible tragedies, thrown together by circumstances and decisions made in the heat of the moment.
You’ll want to fight with Genevieve to find out the truth.
Your heart will break for Isaiah.
This is a tale of lies and secrets with twists a turns throughout.
Just loving the Tin Gypsy series. Can’t wait for the Stone Princess.
“Day by day, I was falling in love with the lie.”
Riven Knight is the second book in this new, romantic suspense read and from the author. This book focuses on the story of Genevieve and Isaiah, who we have met from the first book, Gypsy King.
Told in dual POV, this story pulled me in with its well executed plot that had me keep on second guessing the murder mystery while slowly dying of the agony between main characters. OMG! Talk about slow burn romance! It was exquisitely tormenting. My feels was definitely in overdrive and I loved every minute of it.
If you love marriage of inconvenience, with a mix of romantic suspense, then I highly recommend for you to read this. A must read!
Raw and real. If marriage of convenience is your jam, this is a must-read.
One again, Devney Perry delivers an amazing love story, but as I came to expect from her books, it never is only a love story. First, this book has a lot of answers for the first book in the series, so I truly recommend that they should be read in order. Since her Lark Cover series I’ve wanted to read Isaiah stories (he is Kane’s brother from Tragic) and how good it was to read his POV of everything, to see him come to terms with his past. Genevieve, or doll, is a brave heroine and a truly great woman. She knows what she wants, she does what she needs. Isaiah is our broken hero, but never a jerk, her is kind, good and brave. This book is a story about love, but most of all, it’s a story about grieve, about family and about union. I can’t wait to read what will be next in this series!
Linda’s Book Obsession Reviews “Riven Knight” by Devney Perry, January 2020
Deveny Perry author of “Riven Knight” has written an intense and suspenseful novel. This is the second in the “Tin Gypsy Series”. I would suggest reading the first book in the series. The Genres for this Novel are Contemporary Fiction and Contemporary Romance. The timeline for the story is set in the author’s present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events, The author describes her characters as complex and complicated. There are twists and turns, suspense and mystery, and danger. This involves a former motorcycle gang.
Genevieve is grieving the violent death of her mother and discovers that she now has a father, and two step-brothers, one which seems to dislike her strongly. In the first book, Genevieve was kidnapped and almost killed. Isaiah, a former convict has saved her life, but at a tremendous cost. Feeling that the only way that Isaiah can avoid going back to prison, Genevieve and Isaiah get married.
Genevieve’s dreams of becoming a lawyer seem to be far away. Her goals are to find out who killed her mother and yet stay out of danger from the people responsible for kidnapping her. Genevieve is upset with the secrets, lies, and betrayals. Who is she to trust? At first, Isaiah seems like a stranger to her and is very quiet. Isaiah seems secretive and distant.
Devney Perry has written a face-paced novel full of intense danger and adventure. She vividly describes her characters and the events in the story. I would highly recommend this suspenseful novel. I eagerly am awaiting the third book in the series.
It’s 4:15am and I just stayed up all night to finish Riven Knight and it was WORTH IT!
Second book in the Tin Gypsy series with crossover characters from Tragic in the Lark Cove series.
It picks up right where Gypsy Kings had ended.
So many secrets.
A marriage of convenience.
There has been so much loss for Genevieve.
What was familiar and home becomes distant as a new life begins shrouded with deeds from the past.
Motorcycle gangs resurface as debts need to be paid. Emotional story of heartbreak. The power of love from thwarted love to a love where sacrifices, and secrets are kept to nurture true love. Tests of truth, loyalty and love as this story spins out of control in paths you least suspect until it rights itself for all to see.
Riven Knight by Devney Perry is the second book in the Tin Gypsy Series. Wow this book is even better than the first one. This book picks up right where Gypsy King ended. This is a series you will want to read in order because all your unanswered questions are all answered in this second book. I sat down intending to read only for an hour, well that didn’t happen I read the whole book in one sitting. I could not put it down. At times this book had tears streaming down my face. It is a very emotional story. Once again Devney does not disappoint. I am anxiously awaiting the third book in this series Stone Princess. I highly recommend this series!
Even though Riven Knight is about two different characters, it basically picks up where Tin Gypsy left off. Our group of characters is still looking for a new normal after everything happened. Also, they’re still anxiously awaiting how certain events will play out! I know this sounds really vague, but I can’t say too much without spoiling the first book or even parts of this one.
I’m a big fan of books with fake relationships and this one was done so well! Devney Perry really made me care for Isaiah and Genevieve. They both had their world turned upside down, especially Genevieve, but that’s not an easy task. Their love story is definitely a slow burn romance. Even though that was frustrating at times, I completely get why the author chose this path. Both of them have a lot of things to deal with between recent events, but also things in their past. It was amazing to see them slowly trust each other and their feelings.
On top of this love story, we see all of the characters from Tin Gypsy. A lot is still going on in the club and things get dangerous. The suspense in this book kept me on the edge of my seat and I really had no clue how it would all play out. Devney Perry definitely build this up slowly and had me anxiously awaiting how all would play out. Even though I had no clue how it would end, part of how things played out didn’t make sense to me. Not that I need big signs to know how things will play out, but there was nothing that really lead me to this ending. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed it!
All in all, this series has really gotten a special place in my heart and I can’t wait for Stone Princess. I’m definitely not done with all of these amazing characters.
ABSOLUTELY loved this book. I love a broken guy who has been through trauma. These characters were amazing. Devney never disappoints…but this one particularly a great read. I can not recommend this one enough!
This is book two in Devney Perry’s Tin Gypsy series, and boy was my body ready for it. I wanted to know all about the ex-con Isaiah and Genevieve from the first book- and what the heck happened on that mountain?? Luckily- Devney is more than happy to oblige, and for that I am eternally grateful.
I loved the character development in this second installment of this series. It was all leading to a head, that we got the answers too, and most to all doors unlocked and opened.
The plot thickens even more, if that is even possible, and all the levels and depths to Devney’s writing continues with the insanity. As much as I love the Jamison Valley Series, Tin Gypsy might surpass the love that I have for some of Devney’s most precious characters.
Isaiah was the right amount of alpha for me in this story, even with all of his secrets he held dear. And Genevieve was a fantastic heroine, that suited and complimented Isaiah’s personality. Without losing herself in him, in a relationship
I think you most definitely have to read the first book to understand everything that is going on in this one. To really truly understand the brilliance that is Devney Perry. And I cannot wait for installment number 3!
I had been waiting on this book after getting hooked in book 1. I loved this book and the journey that they took. I have read everything that Ms. Perry has written and she never disappoints.
Avid readers all have their favorite authors and let’s admit it…we even want to read their grocery list. We want to know their favorite reads and so on. Well, Author Devney Perry has been that to me since she wrote her first book. It was brand new and the cover and blurb caught my eye and my love affair with her writing began.
Riven Knight is another one of those beloved books for me. It follows Gypsy King and answers questions everyone that read that book had. Those questions are answered in a well spun, multi layered story. It blends the sins of the past with the events of the future and does it flawlessly! All of this takes place while a slow burn romance develops on the back burner of the mysteries. Just when you think you know what happened another well thought out twist takes place. The story really is beautifully written and palpable.
Riven Knight uncovers secrets, heals wounds, binds ties with love and weaves tragedy with tribute. I highly recommend this beautifully written, soulful book.
Devney Perry continues to prove that she’s not going anywhere soon with her newest release Riven Knight.
A modern take on marriage on convenience, Riven Knight, kept me engaged with its fast past story but slow-burn tension. The characters were on point as usual with steamy chemistry that won’t be denied.
Devney seems to have my romance number right now because she can do no wrong. I fall more in love with her stories and their characters with every book she publishes.
