Jerry Jenkins is one of my very favorite authors. His Christian books make you think, look at your walk in life and marvel at the wonderful transformation that his characters evolve in their walk with CHRIST our King. This book weaves two very distinctly different lives into one, and once they finally meet in the book the one helps the other repent, and ultimately in his dire circumstance want to let others know just what our savior endured to save us. I figured out the outcome before it is actually indulged in the book itself, but I know how Mr. Jenkins writes, and knew the outcome would be profoundly life changing for all who watch this transpire and for all you dear readers. This book is extremely thought provoking to all who understand what our savior did that day on Calvary. Read and be blessed to know others feel the same way and know that their sins nailed him to that cross. Thank You LORD JESUS for saving me.
So I cried through the last few chapters of this incredible book, something that I never do when I read fiction. This was a hard story to read, but I am very glad that I did. It’s one that I will never forget. Well done, Jerry Jenkins, for pouring yourself out in this story. Thank you for taking us with you into the darkness and the glorious light.
I read this book several years ago but it still haunts me. Be prepared for some upsetting things, but it is so worth the read.
I love this book, i tell everyone to read it.
Wow what a book!
I love a story where God takes someone who feels like their life is so bad that God could never forgive them but then He turns their life completely around. This is a great story of redemption
Foundational truth and real life people are both part of this story. It’s so great to read a book that could be true with truth from Gods word that you can hold onto in your life because of the “picture” that was painted.
If you are a Christian, you will wish it was true.
This is my new favorite. On the one hand I wasn’t looking forward to reading yet another book about someone on Death Row but on the other hand, I was curious to hear Jerry’s take on it. He masterfully wove two stories together to create a riveting and remarkable tale. I don’t want to give any more away – read it!
Very slow moving for the first half, but the rest of the book left a lasting impression. An incredible example of a life changed by Christ.
Interesting “what if” scenario.
Excellent read!
I really enjoyed the redemptive message.
Very realistic about human frailties, challenges to faith, and persistence. Wonderful while painful ending.
This is a wonderful read. The author spends time fleshing out the characters so that you feel you know them and can even empathize with what they are going through. The ending is a bit far fetched but really speaks to redemption and sacrificial love.
I love Jerry Jenkins books, loved the Left Behind Books too. I had no idea what to expect, but got really involved in this book. It’s a little hard at first to go from Thomas to Brady, but you get used to it. Brady is a scarred young man, and when he decides how to end his life, I just gasped out loud. Please read this book, it is a wonderful story of hope of redemption you won’t soon forget.
This book was great. Mr Jenkins is a great writer, and he did a great job with this book. He wove an intriguing cast of characters into a tremendous book into an unforgettable novel.
