The story continues in this book. Filled with plenty of suspense and intrigue, book two kept me turning the pages from start to finish. On to book three!
“Ritual of Magic” is book two in the Academy Of The Damned series by Veronica Shade. This book continues on from book one “Curse Of Stone”, it’s recommended that you read “COS” before this book, to get all the details of the storyline, characters and events that take place.
Just when this book picked up and got really interesting it was over too quickly. I enjoyed reading “COS” even though at times I felt it was a little slow, so I decided to read “ROM” as I needed to know what was going to happen after the cliffhanger. But once again at times I found it too be a little slow, and around the 65%/70% mark it picked up with all the mystery coming together just for it to end on another cliffhanger. Now I’m a little unsure as to what to do next, my OCD is screaming to read the next book to see what is going to happen next. I feel as if I owe it to the series to continue as the concept of the story is intriguing and unique and I really need to know what or who are the statues. I do like that the story kept me guessing what was going on, it is definitely full of mystery and it’s also thrilling.
The characters are a whole different matter, at times Maddie can be great, watching her grow and flourish into herself and powers, then she gets annoying and frustrating with all her secret keeping. I do understand the magic/witch world is knew to her and she is till playing catch up, plus all the secrets that she has uncovered to not be true, but her default mode always seems to be to run away when things get a little to hard. Ivy and Krista were great supporting friends in this book, although they did question a lot of things, they seemed to believe in Maddie a little more in this book. Jaxon, now Jaxon is a hard one, he is so hot and cold, there is something going on with him and I can’t put my finger on it, I’m really hoping he isn’t involved in anything sinister that is going on and that the whole hot and cold is just cause he doesn’t know how to act around Maddie.
Great book, plenty of action, adventure and romance … something for everyone.
I received this as an Advance Reader Copy with the hopes I would like it and review it.
Ritual of Magic was such a great book. I enjoyed it all the way through. Madison has several obstacles in her way in order to solve the crime and see what dark secrets the academy had. I can not wait to read more books from this author in the near future.

Great story! This story is book 2 in the series and is well written, has engaging characters and an interesting scenario. Since this is book 2, we already know about the basic setting at the Academy of the Damned but this book continues the development and brings the setting even more to life. The characters we know from the first book have returned and there are additional new ones to get to know. I like the fact that the characters are so developed and engaging that I feel like I know them and could fit into their friend group (were I much younger, of course!). I am really enjoying this series and can’t wait to read the next book!

Madison is faced with multiple mysteries and she has no small questions ahead of her. She will also find out the witch academy had some dark secret and that all the witches are not all they should be.
First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Holy shiznet!!! This story, or should I say, mystery is getting intense. Teachers attacking students, people missing, statues that are moving, and psychic abilities that aren’t supposed to be real. I can’t wait to read the next story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
Just when Madison thought it was safe to go back to school and to resume some sense of normalcy, as if there is anything normal about her school, she gets pulled into another adventure. More mystery, more questions, new friendships and tons of magic. Life is never easy as Madison is quickly learning.

love this series!! … totally blown away with the characters and the storyline! … cannot wait for the next book!
Wow! This is the second book in the series and just as action packed as the first one. Madison is ready to return to La Voisin and looking forward to seeing her friends. She soon discovers she’s been assigned a roommate with little explanation. And that mysterious statue still lingers on the academy’s grounds. Mix it all up with a missing student that no one seems to be worried about and you have yourself a wonderful adventure to be had. Looking forward to seeing what happens next in this series.

Madison’s back at the academy in book two of the Academy of the Damned series. In this book we learn more about the school, Madison’s roommate disappears, secrets are uncovered and so much more is going on in this entertaining read. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series to find out what happens next.
I received an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book which was even better than the first book, the first book introduced the characters. The second book got into the story, and the real story behind the school
I really enjoyed the way that Madison questions everything at every turn, but it doesn’t leave her well liked in some circles, who try to stop her at every turn.
It’s a good job she’s got her friends, and has made a new friend from the village, who seems to be helping her too.
I can’t wait to read the next instalment, to see what happens next, I’d definitely recommend this book, but you do have to read book one first, this book is not a stand alone
