Orphan. Jealously guarded possession. The object of her cruel guardian’s desires. These are the only things Aida Vertia has known in her life. Locked away in the high towers of Logoria, the seat of Aeslomor, she has little contact with the outside world. Knowing nothing of its splendor and beauty, she sees only the cruelties within the sooty stone walls of her prison. Then he comes on the crest of … comes on the crest of a raging inferno. Destroying everything she’s ever known. Freeing her from one prison for the cold, hard chains of the next.
They call him the Usurper. A blood crazed mage, no different than the one before.
Yet he is wholly different.
Forcing her to bend to his will, she is helpless to stop the way he makes her soul sing. No matter the murderous vengeance in his eyes or the vicious oaths he swears.
He claims she has a purpose that he’ll see fulfilled, but amid the ruins of her past, she’ll find a destiny far more devastating.
Rite of the Omega is a full length dark Omegaverse novel with a guaranteed HEA. It contains dark themes and complete power exchange. Scenes are not glossed over, which may be distressing for some readers.

I enjoy the darker side of Omegaverse and this definitely tested my boundaries. It was the way he punished her for his weakness. The absolute heartless acts he was able to justify.
Aida is a prisoner – important to remember this as it helps keep what she endures in perspective.
I am a touch torn with regards to her.
She knows only the walls of her keep.
The lies that have crafted her world.
The kind cruelty her master has shown her.
Until the day her stars align
Then?
All he ll breaks lose.
Adia awakens to find that she is now a true possession. A simple slave. And her new owner despises her.
He ensures that she knows her place is beneath his feet.
I’m going to admit I’m still not sure what happened in the alter room. We are given clues but I’m missing an important piece that will tie everything together.
Aida is an Omega so her capitulation to her vile master is not something I questioned. However! There is no way in all the fiery realms of Hades that I would forgive that self-absorbed power-hungry weak mage a moment of my kindness or understanding!
Er’it is an abhorrent arse that will never ever be able to compensate Adia for the cruelty he bestows upon her!
This does end on a cliffy…
I’ll be back to update when I’m not a seething mass of anger and hatred
Yeah … NO still mad as a hornet
I need book two now and I am praying to whatever deity protects the fictional that Er’it gets struck by lightning (that is being nice) and Aidia finds her happily ever after
I fell in love with Eva Dresden’s writing after reading her Omega’s Destruction trilogy, so I was really excited to dive into this new duet. Rite of the Omega is book one of Blood Rites Duet in which Ms. Dresden introduces us to a new enthralling world seamlessly blending fantasy and omegaverse. The result is an unbelievably rich and magical world inhabited by mages who will go to any lengths to obtain more power, and the first omega in centuries is caught up in their ruthless quest. Aida is the omega in question and her life appears to be a series of tragic injustices, first couched in comfort and riches and then in ruthless possession. My heart truly broke for Aida. At the same time I was frustrated by her willingness to take whatever was being dished out throughout most of the book, though that is somewhat undestandable in light of her upbringing. I do hope that she gets her legs under her in book two. Er’it is one of the most brutal “heroes” in his treatment of the heroine. I wanted to punch him for most if not all of the book (well, once I was done with my fantasies of slow and painful death for Otaso). If you read Omega’s Destruction and though Tobias was brutal, then you are in for quite a surprise with Er’it. Eva Dresden is the mistress of a truly dark omegaverse that pulls at every emotion. The characters are complex, the heat is sizzling and the action keeps you at the edge of your seat. Last but not least, I need to give a shoutout to Kal, who may be my favorite character in the book! Book two can’t come fast enough!
This is Omegaverse, if you don’t know what it is, please take the time to look it up before you judge this book. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s DEFINITELY Mine.

If you have triggers, they might most likely be in here. I, on the other hand have Zero Triggers and this book was perfect!
Cliffhanger(?): Oh Heck Yeah! And what a cliffhanger at that!
Dark: 4/5, Granted my rating in Dark will be different from other reviewer, I love Dark to Extremely Dark Reads.
Dark Heat: 5/5
Romance: This is a hard one to rate lol Cause there isn’t much ‘Love’ in this Duet and I’m completely fine with that for right now. 🙂 Im thinking 2/5(?) cause of minor affection.
Drama: 5/5
Suspense: 5/5
Such a Great Read! I NEED Book 2!
Completely recommend to Dark and Dark Omegaverse Readers!
This book was such a journey I couldn’t put it down from the first moment I started reading but it’s definitely a blend of omegaverse with a magic/mystical fantasy element with mages and blood magic. It ends in a cliffhanger which is why I took off one star – But if you’re familiar with the author, you know there won’t be any romance in this book, lots of violence and questionable consent. If you’re ok with that you will love this one.
Kuddos to the author Eva Dresden! I highly recommend this to any Omegaverse readers out there and/or dark paranormal romance fans, you will not be disappointed. I cannot give enough applause to the author of her use of language and the way they story starts from beginning to end how she captivates the reader. This is a story I can definitely re-read.
We have our Omega (Strissina aka Aida) who is taken as an infant from a notorious evil black mage, Otaso, who only craves power and destruction. Otaso has raised Aida, knowing she is special, and to keep her under his control he keeps her in fear of the otherworldliness, and her only human contact is her guardian Otaso and her maid Immari. Then we have our dear mage and Majesty Er’it, out for revenge, only find his revenge has been taken from him from our sweet Omega Aida.
“And so because you stole what innocence the girl had left to her, that makes you somehow better than him?”
He treats her no better than her first evil master, she is confused as why he is so cruel to her. She is knew to everyone around her, they do don’t understand her dynamic no more than she does, Omega’s are only read about in history books as there hasn’t been any Omegas reported in ages. Er’it himself is so conflicted the way his body craves hers and he cannot understand how she has this magic over him to make him crave her so badly, which only makes him lash out more anger on her, but at the same time he wants nothing but to protect her. Then the story ends with a new captor of Aida, will the next story tell us if he shows her any kindness and will our dear Er’it find her and seek revenge towards her captor that dare take his Omega?!?!
The blend of the Omegaverse with fantasy elements is an amazing twist. I love the worldbuilding in this book, and yet I also enjoy that we get to learn more of it as Aida does. Sadly, it seems like the only ones who know the truth of what an Omega’s worth/ purpose are all dead and no one bothers to clue in poor Aida with what they do know. I think that’s one thing that frustrated me, along with Er’it in general. But I like that you can see the decline of his humanity and control, although I don’t like that Aida takes the brunt of his aggression. I feel for her plight so much and when she starts to rebel instead of cower, I can’t help but be proud of her. From the beginning, she has tried so hard to protect the people around her but it always ends up backfiring,so I can understand her frustration and desperation at the end of the book. I look forward to the next step in her journey and the truths we will uncover with her.
