As usual, this is a fabulous read. Love the characters and the story is so intriguing and is a very compelling read. Starting from page one, this gripping story kept my attention to the end and now I cannot wait for another.

Risky Venue by Sam Cheever is the fifth novel in the Gainfully Employed Mystery Series and could easily be called a ‘Hoot and Holler’ Mystery. Even with people being beat up and kidnapped you just can’t help but grin and enjoy. And, with names like Honeybun and Whotsnoggin how could you go wrong.
Trouble just seems to follows Blaise Runa wherever she’s going or whatever she’s doing. At least she has future husband Dolfe and the Honeybun family to get her out of whatever trouble she finds herself in. This time she’s helping her besties Suz and Tyrese get their wedding reception barn venue up and running. That’s when their first customer Lawrence Peck is found dead and the barn vandalized.
I really enjoy the supportive relationships in this series, mixed in with rising suspense. The canine heroes, especially little Ivy are wonderful!
Risky Venue is a five-star captivating mystery. I was held hostage by the amazing characters and real life situations that Sam Cheever creates.

I enjoyed the story. It was interesting and I was totally held hostage by the amazing characters and real life situations
Boo hoo. I had to go to sleep so I had to wait till this morning to finish the book. I did not want to go to sleep, grrr. I wanted to finish the book. That is how good this book is. I would have finished it in a day. Started to late in the evening, grr.
You think you have it figured out then pop another theory comes into play, then pop another one towards the end of the book. I can honestly say that I had it in the beginning but was trick a little by the two pops.
Even though this is book 5 in the series , I feel that you can pick up this book and start reading. Yes, eventually you will want to go back and read the previous books just so you can understand the relationships between the all characters. If this is you beginning point then go for it. You not be lost at all. (Except if the pops get you like they almost did me. But that is the plot twist in this book.)
This my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Blaise Runa is just not able to stay away from trouble. It’s just fortunate enough she has the support of Dolfe, not to mention the rest of the Honeybuns. This time, the murder of Lawrence Peck expands to include a danger that is creeping closer to Blaise. Risky Venue is the fifth novel in the Gainfully Employed Mystery Series. I enjoyed the supportive relationships in this series, mixed in with rising suspense.

I really enjoyed Risky Venue. It is an exciting and suspenseful book. There are so many twists and turns that will keep you guessing. I liked the characters and their interactions together. The book is well written and engaging. I will be looking to read more of this series.
Our heroine is trying to help a friend launch her new business, but when her first customer is murdered, things get off on the wrong foot. Good thing our heroine and her Honeybun are there to help.
This is the fifth book in the series, but it works very well as a stand alone. All the essentials are laid out pretty quickly, but it is certainly worthwhile reading the other books to fill in the details when you get the chance.
Murder, mayhem, and humor all rolled into one happy package. Our heroine has a knack for finding trouble, but her fiance is on the job! Together, they make a formidable pair of sleuths, which is not to say things are ever easy. The plot has lots of twists and turns which keep everyone guessing on the road to solving this one. And humor! That helps keep things light and entertaining and does it in grand style. A highly enjoyable, highly addictive read from page one.
Highly recommended.

Risky Venue
Gainfully Employed Mystery Book 5
Sam Cheever
Wonderful!! I loved the story. Blaise is one of my favorite characters – how could she not be when her mysteries are such fun even when people get beat up? You can’t help but have a laugh and enjoy as you solve the crime. It is a great story with wonderful characters. Not to be missed!!
This book is sure to thrill every cozy lover! The best part, besides the twists and turns, murder, mystery, and the gaggle of suspects is the humor. Regardless of where you are in the book, you will always find a laugh out loud moment. The characters Blaise, who always seems to find trouble, or it finds her and her ever-faithful husband to be Dolf, are embroiled in another mystery sure to have you swiping the pages of your Kindle non-stop. No spoilers ever in my reviews! This story takes place at an old barn turned wedding venue, with all of the ingredients we’ve come to expect in our cozies! You don’t have to read the series in order, so it’s okay to dive in right here, but it would be helpful, so what the heck, go get them all right now. You won’t be sorry! I received an ARC and am providing my honest, unsolicited review of this super fun book!
Honeybun and Blaise were just trying to help their friends Kim and Lawerence start up a wedding venue in an old barn. They all put in a lot of time, money and effort into it and now it is finished and ready for business. A couple comes in and the bride to be is just thrilled with the barn and wants to get married there. The groom isn’t as impressed, actually, he is not impressed at all. Later in the middle of the night, Detective Brita calls Honeybun to tell him that someone has broken into Wedding Belles, (the barn) and trashed the storage room. Oh, and there is a dead body there too…it is the ‘groom’ they meet earlier that day. This starts all kinds of problems for Honeybun and the gang. But the problems run really deep when Blanchette’s name comes up and Blaise gets kidnapped! Lots of stuff going down in this one…who will come out on top? Do they find all the answers they are looking for? You will need to read the book to find out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
