He’s made her life hell since she arrived in Magnolia Valley. And not only is he the most frustrating man she’s ever met, he’s also the sexiest. A steamy enemies-to-lovers romance. He’s used to getting his way… if archaeologist Freya Carmichael hadn’t put her pretty little nose where it didn’t belong. Now he can’t move forward on the project until she’s done digging up some old pottery shards.
Well, he’s not going to take it lying down. He’s going to convince her to go dig somewhere else. If only he could be around her for more than two minutes without getting into an argument.
And when she moves into the house next door and he sees her morning yoga routine? Well… he starts to realize he’s in trouble. Soon, he’s risking everything to protect her, even the company that was always his first priority.
She’s the archaeologist in his way…
The last year of Freya’s life has been a dumpster fire—her father died, her mentor turned out to be a criminal—but this dig is going to be the start of a better chapter in her life.
And Freya isn’t going to let anyone intimidate her into quitting, especially Augustus Wilder. Not only is he the most infuriating man she’s ever met, he’s also the sexiest. After yet another blowup fight, she makes him a deal. If he visits her dig site, she’ll visit his work site.
But after spending more time with him she realizes he’s more dangerous than she thought. His rough exterior hides a fascinating man with a wicked sense of humor and a passionate heart. And he knows exactly what buttons to push to make more than just her temper flare.
When they finally give in to their electric chemistry, Freya knows she’s in over her head. She’s always been able to hold something back, but Augustus wants all of her. Her body. Her heart. Everything. And she isn’t sure she can deny him anything.
When their troubled pasts catch up with them, it threatens everything they hold dear—even their lives—and they have to figure out if they can trust a love that neither of them expected to find.
Can these two enemies find a middle ground and, maybe, even a happily-ever-after?

Cora Reed has a talent for creating beautiful stories out of intense emotion. Freya and Augusta are in for an epic battle. Both want to be right, but fate is determined to prove them wrong. Risking it all for Love has a ton of soul. Reed builds an epic romance out of an uphill battle and scores a perfect 10.
** spoiler alert ** Augustus is trying to save his family business. Freya is determined to preserve history. She is making his job harder. Will Freya and Augustus be able to find common ground? Will they be able to overcome being enemies?
I will admit this enemies-lovers book sucked me right in. It has just the right amount of hate, steam, action and love that it kept me interested throughout. I loved how Freya stood her ground even if I thought at times how she went about it was stupid. I loved how despite what everyone else thought Augustus was a really good guy. Great read and definitely will be reading more of this author!
I’m loving this series and couldn’t wait for this book that I was hoping for. I love how Cora builds characters and you feel like you know what is going to happen but this one you just didn’t know, how it would all end.
As an archaeologist will always love when an archaeologist is in a love story and the background is not messed up on the job level 🙂
Freya is set to got through the dig site in magnolia Valley even if she gets some threats. August needs Freya out of this land in order for his logging company to survive. But when they start to see more of each other they realise they will need to fight together because they are meant for each other.I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed it
A great story
The characters were so great and the chemistry between the two main characters was scorching hot.
This book was filled with action, suspense, intrigue and twists and turns with a great ending.
I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

Excellent small town romance. Ms. Reed did a wonderful job bringing her characters and storyline to life. Augustus has always taken on the burden of what his father’s unscrupulous business practices were. He protected his brothers and 1/2 sister in any way he could. In doing so his brothers never knew and disliked him. Freya’s is an archeologist trying to prove herself to the world as well as herself. They are on opposite sides of a development being built yet they find common interests. There is some intrigue and suspense weaved throughout the story thereby keeping the readers interest. I received a complementary copy via Hidden Gems and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Reed especially ones in this small town series.
Risking it all for Love by Cora Reed is an excellent story and a wonderful addition to the series. Freya and Augustus are at odds with each other. Freya an archeologist, is trying to finish a dig where Augustus is waiting for the sale of the land to go through to log the trees in which will save his company. Freya and Augustus are attracted to each other but their goals are opposite. Wonderfully written story with intrigue and HEA. I highly recommended reading it. I received this book as an ARC for a honest review of it.
The way Augustus and Freya would argue and bait each other to argue more, made it seem almost impossible for them to have any other relationship.
I liked Freya because she stood her ground for anything or anyone she believed in. I also liked Augustus and felt badly that he was so haunted by his father’s demons. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place while trying to save the business.
Soon they realize they are both making assumptions about the other one. Freya also realized Augustus’ family and the people in town have made negative assumptions about him.
They ultimately learn to like, respect, and finally love each other. There are a number of hiccups along the way with decisions to be made, a life in danger, embracing your true self, coming to terms with family, and deciding what is now important in your life.
A sweet, sexy small town romance with a little danger and suspense.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy received via Hidden Gems.
It’s never a good idea to assume, just ask Freya and Augustus
Risking It All For Love (Magnolia Valley Series Book 6) by Cora Reed is a very well written romance. As all the previous books in this series, there’s tons of heart, great characters, interesting plot, a bit of suspense, some danger and excitement, plenty of steam to keep the reader completely captivated.
In Risking It All For Love’s case, these two wonderful characters are under the wrong impression of each other, making the wrong assumptions and basically at war with each other, practically enemies. I loved how the author created the plot and developed the characters introduction to each other, then slowly brought them together, realizing how wrong they both were about the other. These misunderstandings truly ended up bringing them together.
I absolutely adored both characters, but I found Augustus incredibly intriguing. I’m a sucker for wounded alphas and he totally fits that description. Freya is the perfect compliment to this complicated and complex wounded alpha as she has some wounds and obstacles of her own that reluctantly Augustus realizes he wants to help her with no matter the cost.
Overall, another very well written book in this series that has me intrigued and hoping for more from Magnolia Valley. I really loved the HEA as well, so happy for Freya and Augustus!
I read an ARC of this book from Hidden Gems and voluntarily share my review.
It doesn’t seem to matter what they’re doing, when Augustus and Freya are together they have passion to spare. They could try as hard as they liked, but I was never fooled into believing that they only had hate between them. The man we’d seen of Augustus so far could have been the poster child for “strong, silent type”, and it was starting to look like he was well on his way to being a carbon copy of their father. But still waters run deep and there is so much more to the man that we’d been able to see. Freya seems almost to goad him into being his best self where people can actually see him for a change. There’s a lot more to the quirky scientist as well. I loved getting to know this pair and getting the chance to peak back in on the lives of the couples we’ve already met. These characters have come alive for me and they live on in my heart and imagination long after I’ve closed the book. I can’t wait to read the next Magnolia Valley story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through Hidden Gems Books.
Augustus has been hiding who he really is for all his life. He believes in protecting others more than himself. Freya is accustomed to taking care of herself and not backing down from a fight. The two have been at odds for awhile until he sees her from behind doing yoga. Everything changes. He finds out he is not immune to her. They make a pact and start to spend time together. The story is filled with wonderful characters. It has some steamy scenes and great conversations.
The sixth book in the Magnolia Valley series a well written story with a great storyline. The story has Archaeologist Freya Carmichael and Augustus Wilder the CEO of Wilder and Sons Logging Company who are two very strong willed people who will not give an inch as they both want their own way. I enjoyed reading their story and how they get their happy ending. I hope there is more to come in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Archaeologist Freya Carmichael has her life back on track but things are starting to get derailed due to the resistance to her project and Freya thinks she knows who’s behind it … the handsome Augustus. Augustus Wilder plans to save his grandfather’s business with a development project on a plot of land he wants to buy. Too bad the beautiful Freya is stalling the project with her archaeological dig. Freya and Augustus agree to a truce but what happens when they start having feelings for each other and the threats against Freya are escalating and Augustus isn’t behind it?
Risking it all for Love is a drama-filled, suspenseful and steamy story you won’t be able to put down
I loved the dynamic for these two. We read about their confrontation in a prior book so we knew they were at odds. I loved how they compromised and grew their relationship without outside influences. Such a good love story.
I received an ARC for an honest review.

Risking It All for Love is a great title for this book. Freya is an archeologist digging on a sight that Augustus needs to develop in order to save his family’s company. They start out on opposite sides and fight constantly. Once they start spending time getting to know each other their chemistry really starts to emerge. However Augustus isn’t the only one who wants Freya to stop her dig and they’ll do whatever it takes to stop her.
This was a great read. I liked both characters and how they were strong-willed and protective. The storyline and writing were very good. I also liked the glimpses we got of the secondary characters and their relationships with the main characters. I recommend this book and the series as a whole. Looking forward to reading the next one
What can I say? Cora Reed does it again with another fantastic book! Freya comes in to do some archaeological work on a piece of land that Augustus is trying to purchase for building. What happens when 2 strong personalities come together that hate each other? Sparks fly!
I honestly thought I wouldn’t like this book, but ended up not being able to put it down. Freya and Augustus hate each other and are always fighting and yelling at each other, but the more time they spend together, the more they want to spend together, even though the town thinks that Augustus is just like his father and is only using Freya to gain the upperhand.
I would definitely recommend this book and am very excited about the next book.
