This is the second book in the Danger and Attraction Series. My existence centers only around her… PAIGE Weaker, wearier, and worried.I feel myself surrendering to the pain. I know I need to be strong, bold, and courageous to face the villain who ruined my life. It’s time Caleb’s father paid for his wrongs, and I’m hellbent on taking him down, no matter what—even if it means losing Caleb in the … matter what—even if it means losing Caleb in the process.
CALEB

One more time, I’m giving up everything I know and risking hope for her. But is it too little, too late?
Not a standalone.

Oh boy! Where to start?
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! (Sorry, I needed to get that out.) Hope. Hope is a strong word. Hope is a powerful feeling. One small word has the ability to change lives, start wars, and end suffering. I’m this book, it does all three.
Hope. I’m still shaking my head, my fist, and my kindle. I’m so mad, angry, and upset. This story does not want to let the reader go. The entire time you read it you are part of Paige and Caleb’s world. Even if you think you are walking away, it lurks in the back of your mind. This crazy and yet so real story is a 3D puzzle without a box and no way of knowing you have all the pieces. I’m also starting to think someone threw all the pieces in the washing machine because they don’t all fit the way you think. It’s inticing, luring, and intriguing. Almost…hopeful.
I am so excited for Love (book 3). I know we are only days away from release but I am twitching to get this book. I need to know if my puzzle is complete!!!!!!!!!
Hope by Casey Diam is book Two in the Things That Matter trilogy. This continues the story of Caleb and Paige, which means you really should read the previous book ‘Trust’.
Caleb and Paige are still working on their trust but of course the past isn’t so much in the past.
This book doesn’t end their story and will continue into the third installment called ‘Love’.
Their story is really exciting to read!
4.5 Stars
This is the second book in the series and they need to be read in order.
Paige Wells is not safe with Alex and Brad Connor trying to kidnap her to prevent her from spilling secrets from the past. Yet everywhere she turns there appears to be people working for Alex and she isn’t sure who to trust.
Caleb Sawyer’s father is Alex Connor and he will due whatever it takes to bring his father and brother to justice while protecting Paige. He knows how dangerous his father is but he also knows that his father can bring him down at any moment.
Can Paige and Caleb keep ahead of Alex and will they find out more secrets that were meant to be hidden?
This is such an intense series and so good!
I love Paige and she has so much to be afraid of yet she keeps searching for the truth behind everything, knowing that it may change everything. I love the introduction of her grandparents and their role in helping her and Caleb.
Caleb is so determined to bring down his dad and brother even though he knows there will be huge consequences for him as well. I loved his friendship with Calvin and how the two were always there for each other.
There were so many twists and turns and parts where I was just holding my breath wondering what was going to happen next. I couldn’t believe the things that Alex had done to Caleb and it truly showed the kind of man that Alex was.
The end was super tense and I was freaking out about what was going to happen next! I was shocked at what was happening at the end and now I am anxious to read the next book as I am freaking out for both Paige and Caleb as it doesn’t look good for either of them! – By Rebecca
This is the second book in this awesome trilogy, and the continuation of Paige and Caleb’s story. Paige managed to evade the clutches of the man after her, and Caleb protects her. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This is an amazingly well written flawless story, which is raw, gritty, mysterious, dark, complex, thrilling, and filled with angst, danger, and suspense. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I cannot wait to read the concluding part of this story.
Hope by Casey Diam is the second book in the gripping new series Things That Matter. I can not get enough of these books with all the angst and suspense flowing from page to page. I fangirled so hard when I was given the chance to receive this advanced copy and I can’t recommend these books enough because yes they are that good and no one should be missing out.
More revelations are coming to light for both Paige and Caleb. Their lives are more entwined then they could have guessed and both are dealing in different ways. After moving into the condo with Caleb and Calvin, everything starts slowing down for Paige and after five years starts learning how to find herself again and become more open with others. Sadly the same can’t be said about Caleb. The more time passes the more he shrinks inside his head where only his thoughts and guilt live and no one else can reach. Caleb feels something huge is coming and once again wants the world on his shoulders to carry alone.
I love how Hope is more of Caleb’s story and man was it a heartbreaking one. What we saw in Trust wasn’t even close to the tip of the iceberg for everything that Caleb endured growing up and still going through in present time. On the outside he has perfected the rich playboy persona but on the inside is still the same little boy taken from his mother before even knowing her and forced to live with an abusive father with his sick ways and nonstop lies. But now the breaking point is fast approaching and Caleb is more than done being a pawn in a twisted game where he doesn’t even know the goings on but is ready to end it all.
Only two books out and already I love Casey Diam’s writing. Every word is detailed and thought provoking and just makes you want more. I love how she took an already fantastic storyline and expanded it into something jaw dropping. More characters are also introduced and in their own ways play big parts in the overall scheme of things. Especially Calvin, who I know is not just hanging around for the money but for the reason that he is loyal and caring. I am still taken aback about what went down in Hope and just guessing at what’s to come is sweet torture but really satisfying to know more awesomeness is on the way.
I jumped right into Hope after reading Trust, the first of this three part series (Things That Matter), desperate to find out what happened next.
And what did happen was gut-wrenching and left me gasping for breath. This second part of the series, is even more gripping than the first, and believe me when I say, I was enthralled by that one. This has more angst, more suspense and even a hint of dark, thriller to it as revelations are revealed showing just how terrible Caleb’s father is.
Paige is starting to settle into her new life with Caleb, and sharing his condo with his best friend Calvin, who is also her bodyguard. At least she knows about that now.
But, Paige’s determination to find out the truth pulls her is a dangerous direction and Caleb has to make a decision that hurts both of them. He’s wracked with guilt over the past deeds he’s seen and been forced to participate in, and he gets more than a little lost inside his head.
We got a lot more insight into Caleb with this book, showing the broken, tortured soul hiding in his perfect body. But, he knows being with Paige is getting to the point where she isn’t safe from his father and brother and no matter what he wants, he has to pay the price for both of them.
What will he do?
Can their undeniable love hold them together or will it all come down to one thing. Hope.
Lets hope we find out in the third part.
In the second book in the ‘Things That Matter’ trilogy, Paige and Caleb’s interconnected past is bringing them closer together but, at the same time, tearing them apart. Paige is just as strong as ever, even when she struggles with not only her past but Caleb’s shifting feelings. Caleb, sigh, is still dreamy as ever with his sweet devotion to Paige’s anxiety and safety. This story slowly builds to a stunning cliffhanger that surprised me, but also left me wanting more Caleb and Paige.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
