Gut wrenching fear and suspense. Gentle, passionate, deep love. Bree, Tanner, and Noah are pulled into their friend Marilyn’s nightmare life when her psychopath husband gets bonded out of jail. Exciting plot, perfect dialogue, and skilled writing!
I feel slightly bereft that we’ve come to the end of this series. And what an end it is. I’m at a total loss for words. The sweet silliness at the beginning of the story sucked me in and before I knew it, I was up to my eyebrows in intrigue, betrayal, and life-threatening action. Once again, Bree and Tanner show us why they’re perfect together. Their strengths dovetail to support each other’s weaknesses and in the heat of the moment they’re capable of reacting as if they shared a single mind. The closing scenes are utterly precious and I was left desperately blinking back tears before I turned into an ugly-crying mess. I hate saying goodbye to Bree and Tanner. I hope we get to come back and visit again sometime in the future.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through NetGalley.
Bree and Tanner are back, and this one may just be the most exciting part of their story. That’s saying something considering everything they’ve already been through. The wedding is coming up fast, so Bree is already way out of her element, but with this newest threat, she may just be happy to even get down the aisle. This time they’re dealing with a sociopath who will stop at nothing to get what they want, and it doesn’t matter how many bodies stack up in the process. As always with this author, the book is wonderfully written, and the characters practically leap off the page. To sum it up, Risk Everything is a gripping story where the action is nonstop and edge of your seat. Combine that with a true love romance and Janie Crouch’s terrific wit, and this one is hard to beat.
I’m so sad to see this series end. I loved every minute of this book. Fast paced I could not put this book down. Bree and Tanner are amazing in this book, and in each of the ones before. It’s getting down to there wedding. But it won’t be easy. One of the women’s in the shelter has a husband that has just been released from prison. He’s supposed to have an ankle locate to track him. Well something happens.
Buy to see what happens.
Perfect!! I can’t believe it’s the last of the series as i really want more of Bree and Tanner as well as Noah. This was just the right balance of action, lot of suspense, romance with wonderful touches of humour. Also some scenes with the women of the city are simply too wonderful to describe, i nearly cried with emotions.
Bree is preparing her wedding as well as working at the women refuge and she made great progress since her arrival in Tanner’s life and the road has been quite tumultuous. I really loved to see her grow in her social skills and becoming a real partner with Tanner. Also all the characters seemed more than realistic, the way the women at the shelter react and such which immersed us even more in the story.
Tanner is really a god man and his brother who has a bigger role this time than in precedent books isn’t less wonderful, protective and loyal. I loved the way he reacted to Marilynn and her children. Tanner is determined to protect Bree and those she care for which means the women at the shelter but he wasn’t expecting things to get worse so much and so quickly with Marilynn ex husband …time to get proofs is diminishing as the wedding approach but no matter what it’s against them Bree and Tanner are the greatest team ever!
This was fabulous from the start to the end, read in one sitting and i just hope to get more of the whole group. To recommend ( can be read as stand alone but i do advice you to read the whole series in order).
A Bree and Tanner thriller is such a perfect name for this series. Risk Everything is a thriller full of non-stop action and suspense. I love Bree and Tanner together and trouble just seems to follow these two making for an exciting read. We get to see more of Noah in this story also and I would love for him to have his own book! Bree and Tanner get their HEA in this book and the way the town came together to give them their special day was heartwarming. I hated to see this series end ……I definitely want more of these two!
Risk Everything is the last book in Janie Crouch’s A Bree and Tanner series for Harlequin and she definitely does it, the characters, and series as a whole justice.
This is such an awesome series and I truly enjoyed getting to know Bree, Tanner, and their friends as well as watching their relationship grow from tentative friendship to a trusting partnership and finally to a forever love. There is plenty of action, suspense, excitement, humor, family, friends, drama, and some romance to enjoy in this final installment of the series.
Crouch does a wonderful job with the characters’ relationship pacing it out over the series to where none of the storyline feels rushed or fake and allows the readers to really become invested in the couple and their happy ending. I also enjoyed getting to know the town folks and Tanner’s family. It would be awesome if his brother Noah (along with Marilyn and her kids) and his sister Cassandra could have their own books. I know they would have great stories to tell too.
In this book, Bree is finally free of her past haunts and thriving under Tanner’s tutelage. She has come out of her shell, has real friends, and is helping run the women’s shelter with Tanner’s sister, Cassandra, along with settling into a day-to-day routine with Tanner and helping to plan their wedding. She does not understand all the insanity involved in the planning and all she wants is to be his wife. But she is determined to show Tanner and everyone how far she has come since they first met so she pushes her reservations aside and with the help of friends and soon-to-be family jumps in to help their happy ending come to fruition.
As for Tanner, all he wants is Bree by his side as his wife; for the world to know she belongs with him. He wants to provide for her and keep her safe, happy and healthy and to know that she is loved and never alone. And he will do whatever it takes to put her mind at ease and let her know she can always depend on him to stand by her side in every aspect of their lives.
When a fire breaks out at the women’s shelter and a friend is targeted, Tanner goes on high alert and Bree dive into the danger putting them directly in the line of fire. A fun adventure turns deadly and becomes a fight for survival as they race to help their friend, protect lives, defeat the bad guy, and make it to their wedding on time.
I love how Bree steps out of her comfort zone even more in this book without compromising herself. Her character has truly blossomed throughout the series. Her fretting about the wedding dress and vows was entertaining and very Bree. I also love how the ladies in town banded together for her after a crisis to give her and Tanner their perfect day. It is the perfect, emotional ending for a great couple and fabulous series.
What a great ending to the four-book series. I’m sad to see it end, but I will revisit and the-read this series again in the future. I hope that there will be a continuation of Bree & Tanner along with Noah & Marilyn somehow. Such a great great series. This is a must-read.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. It’s the final one in the series and Bree and Tanner are finally about to get married If it wasn’t for a sociopath being out on a hunt… A very suspensul story that brings you right into the wilderness of Colorado. So will all of them be able to escape the madness or are they never to get to their own wedding. Wonderful. To bad it’s over. But hopefully, there’s a story of Noah and Marilyn coming someday?!
If you haven’t read anything from Ms Crouch, I highly recommend her Risk series. Risk Everything is the 3rd (and final ?) book in Janie Crouch’s “Risk” series. The main characters, Bree and Tanner, are finally getting married, when more trouble finds them…not from their past–as with the two previous books–but trouble from someone else’s past. Bree’s friend, Marilyn, has an abusive Ex-husband intent on getting his wife and kids back under his control. The story revolves around Bree and Tanner trying to obtain enough proof to send the abusive ex-husband to jail while providing a safe haven for Marilyn and her two children. Tanner’s brother and ex-seal, Noah, volunteers to provide the protection for the abused mom and kids (I sense another story in the making…) There is non stop action, romance, and even a little humor to entertain.
Anyway, Risk Everything is another must read by Janie Crouch, especially if you read the first two books in the series. They all tie together wonderfully (but each could stand on its own).
Take your own risk and buy the book as well as the series. You won’t be disappointed…well… I WAS disappointed–but only that Tanner and Bree’s story ended. I’m just hoping to see more of the other characters she introduced through this series. Great book! Great series!
Wow, another excellent book in the Bree & Tanner thriller series.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
Janie Crouch has done it again, once I started this book, I did not stop, another page turner!
Bree(Freckles, as Tanner calls her) & Tanner’s wedding just a couple weeks away.
She is not into wedding planning or wedding dresses, but is trying for the sake of those in Risk Peak who adopted her as one of their own. Not that she doesn’t want to marry Tanner, she is just not into all the girlie things.
Marilyn & her children, Sam & Eva are living in New Journeys(for abused women & children). Hiding from her abusive husband.
A camping trip with Marilyn, her children, two other residents, Bree, Tanner, and Noah ends up running through the rugged Colorado wildernes trying to escape several men chasing them.
Edge of my seat trying to finish this book! Whew!
Bree and Tanner are fighting together to help their friend Marilyn and her children stay safe from an abusive husband. The husband is rich and has some powerful people helping him get his wife back. The obstacles they all have to overcome are elaborate and never ending. Bree with her genius brain and Tanner with his law enforcement mind are up for the challenge and will do everything they can to protect their friend.
Bree is one of the best characters I have ever read. I just loved how she fought her weaknesses and came out a very strong and capable women. Tanner was her equal and they complemented each other. The secondary characters in this story are outstanding; I just loved Noah. This was a great series and one that kept you in suspense from the very beginning. The excitement and anticipation you feel when reading just shows you what a great author Janie Crouch is. I have never been disappointed in anything she has written and I always look forward to her next story.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion.
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
This is the fourth book in The Risk Series with Bree and Tanner and it definitely takes you on a wild ride. Bree and Tanner are getting ready for their upcoming wedding and some major drama stands between them and their happy day. Can they protect each other and take out the threat that has come to their town and friends?
This book is well-written and fast-paced, a real rollercoaster ride, the characters are just as likable and charismatic as they were before especially with their own little quirks. Loved it.
3.75 stars–RISK EVERYTHING is the fourth instalment in Janie Crouch’s contemporary, adult BREE AND TANNER THRILLER romantic, suspense series focusing on Bree Daniels and Deputy Tanner Dempsey. RISK EVERYTHING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Bree and Tanner) RISK EVERYTHING focuses on the weeks before Bree Daniels and Deputy Tanner Dempsey wedding. Hoping against hope to elope, Bree finds herself the center of attention, attention she would rather place on someone else but as the big day approaches one of the women (Marilyn) at Bree’s New Journeys’ women’s shelter discovers that her soon to be ex has been released on bail. Keeping a promise to Marilyn’s children (Eva and Sam), Bree and Tanner escort the mother and her children for a few days of camping, camping that places everyone in the direct line of fire. With the children’s safety a primary concern, our leading couple, find themselves the target of some very dangerous men.
RISK EVERYTHING is a story of vengeance and betrayal; of power and control; of love, loss and happily ever after. Janie Crouch pulls the reader into a fast paced, suspense filled tale of one man’s need for retribution as Bree and Tanner try desperately to keep everyone safe. The premise is engaging; the characters are colorful and charismatic; the romance continues towards a happily ever after. My only concern is the questionable decision to move forward with a camping trip when threats to everyone’s lives are a foregone conclusion.
Risk Everything is the final book to the fantastic series that features Bree Daniels and Deputy Tanner Dempsey. Like in the previous 3 books, this one had all the goods; tons of action and suspense with myriad of sweetness thrown in.
We start off on a lighter note with Bree preparing for her wedding that is supposed to take place in a couple of weeks. She is so uncomfortable with all the hoopla over the wedding. All she wants is to become Mrs. Tanner Dempsey, but the women of Risk Peak are so beyond excited for her and Tanner, she just tries to go with the flow. But of course things do not stay light for long. Danger surrounds Bree and the residents of the new women’s shelter, New Journeys. What ensues is another rollercoaster ride of action and suspense. A fun camping trip turns deadly and a harrowing experience to survive. The tension throughout is high, with children involved and bad guys with guns, I was at the edge of my seat. But again it just showed how well Bree and Tanner work together and are there for each other through thick and thin.
The ending was absolutely perfect, the swooniest way to finish off this amazing series. And even though this was the end to this series, knowing this author’s style now, I have a feeling we will be seeing them again. I am really hoping for a book for Noah and Marilyn! I definitely recommend this book, but I highly recommend all 4 to get the full experience.
(4.5) Pulls out all the stops and smacks every emotion. Book 4 in the 4 part series with Tanner, alpha law man and Bree , computer nerd, takes us on a wild ride that leaves us HEA and wanting more. Let me jump on the Risk Peak Bandwagon, surely we can have Noahs story, maybe a novella? I love watching Bree grow, having faith in herself, tackling challenges and having Tanners back. Tanner needed her watching his back in this one! I love the strength in Tanner, letting Bree be Bree and supporting her in everything she does as she learns about relationships – people to people. The background of this one will touch the heart of many. Bree and her future sister in law start New Journeys, so aptly name to help abusive women get a new start in life. Janie kept it real here, some leave on their own, some go back believing the abuser will change, and some put one foot in front of the other at New Journeys to search for a better life. When a fire is started, and proving sabotage, we are off. I will say when the paramedic wanted her to go get checked out, I screamed NO, DON’T GO. (My husband was like, huh?) We travel through wilderness, camping, rivers, children, no children. I don’t want to give out spoilers 🙁 This one took us from the comfort of our town, to the hills and back. Great ending to this series, thank you Janie Crouch for the arc. I am always taking little side trips with you via your books. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
Terrific book and conclusion to the Bree and Tanner series, and another one that kept me up well past bedtime to finish it. After a year together, Bree’s wedding to Tanner is only two weeks away. The book opens as Bree is spazzing over wedding preparations. All she wants is to be married to Tanner, but the wedding has taken on a life of its own thanks to her friends. Looking back over the year, Bree sees the progress she has made toward becoming more “normal,” but there are days she wants to hide away. Meanwhile, Tanner is beyond ready for the wedding and to show the world how much he loves her. I’ve loved seeing the development of their relationship, from wariness and distrust to incredible teamwork and belief in each other. That teamwork is called upon yet again as they face off against a dangerous opponent.
Bree is at the women’s shelter late one night when a suspicious fire breaks out. She and Tanner are confident that one of the residents, Marilyn, is the target of the attack. The uncertainty is intense as they and others attempt to find the truth and stop the attacks. The frustration is evident as everything points to Marilyn’s abusive husband, but nothing can be proved. Hoping to give Marilyn, her kids, and two other residents a pleasant break, Bree, Tanner, and his brother Noah, head for the woods for a camping trip. When the group is attacked and becomes separated, it’s up to Bree and Tanner to protect the kids until help arrives. The suspense is intense as Bree and Tanner race to stay ahead of their pursuers. I was on the edge of my seat as the hours passed and the players shifted, leaving Bree and Tanner to play decoy. The tension continues to build even after arriving home, with a feeling of impending trouble. The final confrontation was a nail-biter that had me glued to the pages until it was all over. I loved the strength and courage that both Bree and Marilyn showed as they took control of their fates.
I loved the ending. It was so emotional to see the town pull together to make sure that the wedding happened just the way Bree and Tanner wanted it. I especially loved what the women did for Bree that made the wedding so much more special for her. And after all of Bree’s angst over writing the perfect vows, she came up with the perfect lines. Tanner’s were great, but Bree’s were quintessential Bree. I also enjoyed the conversation that Tanner had with his brother Noah about Marilyn. I hope to see more of them in the future. There were also a few cross-series mentions of both Linear Tactical and Omega Sector books, which always makes me happy.
Bree and Tanner what can I say? I live those two and going to miss reading about them. Such a fantastic ending to this series and wow this book certainly ended the rollercoaster ride well. This book was filled with suspense and tension. Not steamy as the other books but didn’t need to be as we already knew what kind off relationship Bree and Tanner had created for themselves. I think I want to know more about what happens with Noah and Marilyn and her kids. Hope there is a book for them. Such a fantastic series, you would be crazy if you missed it. Think I’ll be revisiting Risk Peak again.
This was an ARC and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Great story and a very satisfying ending to this 4 book series(although, I would love to see more stories from the town of Risk Peak!). I have come to love Bree and Tanner, they are smart – not just intelligent, but have common sense – brave and compassionate. I find that I care for these characters which makes the stories richer. Smart writing, awesome characters and a page turning plot puts Risk Everything and the Bree & Tanner series on my must read list. Enjoy!
This is the final book in the Bree and Tanner series, although I wish it could go on forever! I just love this couple, the socially awkward computer genius and the alpha hunk! Janie has done it again!!
Everything about this book was amazing. A fire at New Journeys, a place for abused women and children started by Bree and Cassandra (Tanner’s sister), is set on fire and begins the new adventure for Bree and Tanner and their adventures always take a dangerous turn. I have loved watching the love bloom between the two of them and was anxious to find out if their wedding was going to happen as planned. Janie takes you on a whirlwind of action and the love between the H/H is palpable with ever page read.
This is a standalone book, but personally I think it’s much better if you’ve read the entire series. I’m really sad to see this series end. The characters are so well-developed and you can’t help but love them. Of course, Janie’s books are all great! Disclosure: I received an ARC of this title, but it wouldn’t change my review if I hadn’t!
