What an amazingly explosive, intense, emotional, fierce and severe ending to the enchanting series that has captured my mind over the summer.
Staring this new type of serial novel series from Intrigue where the same couple faces different kinds of danger and suspense on their way to their happily ever after over the four books – I knew two things:
One: I am not a fan of serial novels
Two: I would read anything Janie Crouch writes. And she certainly didn’t disappoint.
The journey with Bree and Tanner has been filled with edgy situations, deep emotions, awkward moments, tears, fear, laughter, and swooning sighs. From their meet-cute to the end, Bree and Tanner have had my full attention while they captured my heart. I can not say enough about them, you have to experience the magic, the undeniable connection that is Bree and Tanner, yourself.
The thrilling action has been fierce, and especially in this last installment, Risk Everything, where they are not only against seasoned cruel criminal minds but against the unpredictability of wilderness – one of my favorite type of suspense – I literally read the book through at one sitting, without even realizing it, cause the enchantingly unputdownable tale!
I loved how the author shined a light to the very sensitive and tough issue of domestic violence, with the utter respect towards the survivors. Noah, Dan, Cheryl and the whole secondary gang of characters were drawn with deep characteristics, they were people I grew to love and care for as well. And when the crumpy, antisocial but generous old man Henrikson comes and saves the day – I was enamored!
I have truly enjoyed the RISK series and the danger and peril filled journey of Bree and Tanner. I will miss them, but thankfully these books are definite re-read material, and perfect for binge-reading! All the four books are out now, so for those who do not like the wait in between installments of serial novels, you can now just read them all at once!
A fabulous, smashing ending to the thrilling, killer series
~ Five Spoons!
All I can say is WOW! I loved the entire Risk series. This one made me cry. I was wiping tears when I finished the book. Tanner and Bree finally made it to their happily ever after. I would say it was the best book out of the 4, but I loved them all. They were all the best in their stories. And Janie, we need Noah and Marilyn’ s story ASAP. I received an ARC for my honest review.
The conclusion to the Bree and Tanner series. Read the others first. No, really. I loved this four book series which gave the author more time to develop the characters. This format won’t work for everyone, but series readers will find it a must read.
Who are Tanner and Bree? What about Noah, Marilyn, Sam, Eva, Jared, and Cassandra? How do they meet or know one another? What and where is Risk Peak? What is New Journeys? I love Noah and Tanner!!! What happens at New Journeys one night when Bree cannot sleep and she goes back to the office? Oh my, that did not end anything like I was expecting it to! Watch out for the suspense and thrills that are thrown into this story!
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
Risk Everything by Janie Crouch is Book 4 in the “A Bree and Tanner Thriller” series.
Book 4 finally brings readers to the wedding of Bree and Tanner – that is,if they can make it to the wedding alive since it appears that Bree is back in the crosshairs and Tanner is determined to keep her alive. What started off as they simply were planning their wedding, ends up saving the life of a woman who Bree met at a women’s shelter. This book has suspense, intrigue, angst, twists, turns, danger, action, friendship, romance, love, passion, and beautiful feels. I enjoyed reading the story and seeing how Bree and Tanner end up. I would hope that this series would continue with more romantic suspense books written with them but that’s my opinion. I liked the chemistry between them and the stories of how they solved each one.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
How is it that this couple keeps getting better and better and each time leaves me wanting more of Tanner and Bree. This fourth instalment is just as amazing and heart pounding as the others, as Tanner and Bree find themselves once again fighting for their lives and this time there’s more than just the two of them who they have to keep alive.
Holy smokes…oh man…the adventure in the forest felt so real, like I was there running with them and trying to escape alive. Not only that but Tanner and Bree…what a couple!!! I LOVED reading about these two as their love grows with each and every book, and this one as they are getting ready for their wedding. I LOVED reading how Bree grows in each book, becoming more social and interacting with others and I LOVED reading how Tanner goes into alpha protector mode with Bree in each read.
This read had me on edge with the suspense, laughing at some of the antics of the wedding preparations, swooning at the love between them and misty eyed near the end at what the town ladies do for her. I LOVED how she found a family and home with Tanner and sad that their story has ended…..and hoping for MORE from this author on Tanner and Bree !!
*I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
A Brilliant Series…
Tanner and Bree are just days away from their big wedding. But once again Bree and Tanner are in the crosshairs of a killer and a mystery to be solved. A wilderness trip turns into a fight for survival. A crazy ex set on revenge, A little heart pounding and insane chemistry is what you can expect in the the final chapter of Tanner and Bree’s story.
I loved this series and how strong the bond between Tanner and Bree developed throughout the series. I am sad to see it end. But Tanner and Bree deserve their happily ever after.
“I voluntarily received received this arc book for an honest review”
Loved it! Another great book in this series, with my best friend Bree. Well, at least she’s my best friend in my “head”. She may be too smart for me to be a BFF in real life but I enjoy her style. She continues to grow in her emotional, and social skills and that is fun to watch. She remains loyal and caring for people; she just usually has a hard time expressing it. She’s a “got your back” kind of gal and she just doesn’t quit.
Tanner is such a great match for Bree and it’s heartwarming to see how much he “gets” Bree. What other men might see as too quirky or odd, he doesn’t. Of course, he’s been with her from the beginning so he understands how her big brain works. I liked how he not only understands but actually loves how she doesn’t usually respond to things the way, so called “normal”people do. He gives her the freedom to be herself and it often makes him smile. Of course, it sometimes clashed against his protector mode when it came to her but he has adjusted. He learned a while back not to hide things from her to protect her. I liked how they worked together as they worked through some pretty dangerous stuff. I like how they became a team. Again.
It was also really nice to see more of Noah (Tanner’s brother) in this story. He is included in the action and danger. There is also that hint of a possible romance for him too.
This series is near and dear to my heart so on Amazon it gets high ratings. But it also didn’t disappoint. It felt like I just flew through the story. In fact, now I want to read more! Hmm. I wonder what kind of trouble Tanner and Bree can find on their honeymoon?
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Absolutely Fantastic .
I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Risk Everything . Wow this story is so suspenseful and intriguing from start to finish . It’s pulse pounding ,edge of your seat action , intense , heart warming , romantic and Intertaining . It’s everything a fantastic story should be . Bree is a genius hacker and my favorite . Tanner does everything by the book . Their relationship is entertaining and beautiful . I fell in love with this couple in book one . I love Bree’s snarky personality . The characters are great . It’s such a well written story . I highly recommend taking the time to read this story and enjoy it as much as I did .
This is book 4 in The Risk series and we are at the conclusion of Bree and Tanner‘s story. Marilyn and her two kids were living at New Journeys. New Journeys is a woman shelter/safe place for women and children escaping domestic violence. Bree and Cassandra run this wonderful place. The story is about Marilyn and her husband, who is awaiting trial for attempted murder on her. This is about his psychotic need to control her. This is about Bree, Tanner and Noah trying to keep Marilyn and her kids safe. In the background of everything is the planning of the wedding and a little romance brewing. I’m not sure if this new romance will be in this series or another but it’s definitely happening.
As you know, if you’ve read the previous books, it’s never simple for Bree and Tanner. I cried! I cried big, fat tears. Oh, not at the wedding because that was typical Bree and Tanner style, but before that. Read this awesome book/series and you’ll need your tissues by the end too. BRAVO! Awesome story and as always, amazing characters!
Finally we get the last book in Bree and Tanner’s story it has been wonderful how the fact that this was a four book series about one couple allowed us to see how their relationship developed in a lot more depth and I have thoroughly enjoyed that aspect At the same time there has been a lot of drama and suspense through the entire series with a serious story line underlying the entire series and that was bought to a satisfying conclusion.
With the wedding of our two heroes getting close we get a chance to see how Bree has become more “Normal” and how Tanners is now less suspicious and living life more fully We have also seen growth in Noah (Can we have his story) but because this is these two we know that the wedding won’t go off without a hitch There will be more dramas and they will have to save even more people. That all happens as well
Outstanding read!!!! I’m a fan for life!!! This was a fabulous romantic read with all kinds of great suspense and had me flipping through page after page. This is the conclusion of Bree and Tanner’s 4-part series and I couldn’t have loved it more. Bree and Tanner’s wedding was just two weeks away and she was freaking out. Bree has tried hard to be “normal” but the wedding chaos is more than she can handle. She just wanted to stay out of it and let her friends make the plans. Bree was working late at the women’s shelter when a fire broke out. Turned out that it wasn’t an accident. She suspected Marilyn’s ex but he was in jail. Wasn’t he? Bree and Tanner were a team so while Tanner worked on the case, Bree kept the women and children at the shelter safe. Not wanting to disappoint the kids, Bree, Tanner and his brother, Noah, took some of the women and children on a planned camping/hiking trip. When the group has an “accidental” boat mishap and became separated, Bree and Tanner protected the children until help arrived.
If you like great characters, never-ending suspense, unusual circumstances and reactions, with a sweet HEA, you’ve picked the right book. Tanner and Bree were more in love than ever and although they had a steady uphill battle towards their happy ending, at least they fought it together.
I love a great story that holds me captive. This book does it with a mixture of suspense, surprises, and romance. A perfect combination! I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts.
Seriously, this was a great book and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
4 1/2 STARS!
RISK EVERYTHING is the fourth and final book in Janie Crouch’s Risk Series revolving around Bree and Tanner and their never ending escapades. I really enjoyed this entire series, and loved that even though we were dealing with the same couple throughout all four books, we always had an ongoing HEA at the end of each book.
This was a first in it’s kind series from Harlequin Intrigue and I have to say that I enjoyed it quite a bit. Not only did we get to see their relationship develop slower than normal in a category length book, but we also got to embark on more terror and adventure than we normally would. You can’t go wrong with any book in the series, but to get a full picture of the couple, I recommend reading them all and in order.
I really liked this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not put this book down. The chemistry and suspense was so good.
What an amazing ending to this great series (although I did not want it to end)! Bree and Tanner are weeks away from their wedding when a suspicious fire breaks out at the New Journeys facility. Since both Tanner and Bree have made enemies, was the fire set by someone after them, or could it have something to do with one of the women living at the shelter? Marilyn has been working at the shelter since she and her two children moved in and filed charges against her abusive husband. When they learn that her husband is out on bail, the entire community is on high alert to protect them. Tanner’s brother, Noah, has taken a special interest in protecting Marilyn and the children from harm. During a planned wilderness trip, danger stalks Tanner, Bree and the children. Will they be able to survive long enough to say “I Do”? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
Risk Everything by Janie Crouch
This is the fourth book in the Bree and Tanner thriller series. This series is so incredibly good. I cannot believe it is over already! I just finished the last book and I want more. I really do! This excellent book starts just days before Bree and Tanner’s wedding is supposed to take place. This story will take you for an amazing ride with twists and turns and it has a totally unexpected ending! I loved every second of this book and I may have forgotten to breathe a couple times! Through the previous three books Bree has proven that she is strong, smart, and lovable but she shows such undeniable strength in this exciting book. Tanner is a strong Alfa male who is not afraid to have Bree be the strong one and his trust and faith in her is his most attractive feature! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for exciting page turning action and adventure!
Risk Everything is a perfect ending to an amazing series. Tanner and Bree are an endearing couple with great chemistry. There were many amazing characters in this series. I would love to read more about Noah and Marilyn and Whittaker and Cassandra. Overall, this was an amazing romantic suspense and I would definitely recommend this book and this series.
In this fourth and final installment of this series, we are back with Bree and Tanner.
We have seen Bree blossom and grow in each of the books and Tanner, the ever patient man, loving her more each day . He is ready to see their relationship take the step to marriage and Bree is finally excited to take that step.
But the road to the ceremony is not going to be smooth . Especially when a fire occurs in the women’s shelter where Bree works. The suspense puts them in danger. Will they survive the latest danger and get their HEA?
This talented author once again gives us a well developed plot , with complex main characters, as well as interesting secondary ones.
A good ending to a series that will be missed.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I’ve been reading Harlequin Intrigues since I was 13 and love that even after 31 years, I still find enjoyment in them just as much as I did back then. I love that I can sit down with one and finish it in a few hours, and not feel guilty about abandoning my mom duties.
Risk Everything by Janie Crouch did not disappoint. I finished it in a few hours and absolutely loved everything about Bree & Tanner. Normally, I don’t start a series on the fourth book, but I didn’t know this was a series until I started it. I’m still glad I read it because it definitely can be read a stand-alone but it also made me want to go back and get the first three books. That is the indication for a five-star rating to me.
Bree and Tanner are about to get married and their lives are busy. Tanner is a deputy and Bree is a computer hacker/programmer who runs a women’s shelter with Tanner’s sister. The cast of characters in this story are wonderful, eccentric, loving, and broken. I loved Marilyn and her kids so much I just wanted to hug them and protect them from all the evil in the world, especially her ex-husband. Janie knows how to write a villain and she did it to perfection with Jerod Ellis. The twists and turns in this story as Bree and Tanner try to keep Marilyn and the kids safe made for tense reading, but the love Bree and Tanner have for each other kept the feeling of loving protection on every page. I was especially impressed with the wilderness scenes for their vividness and accuracy. The wedding planning offered a lot of levity in the story and anyone who has ever planned a wedding will relate!
Risk Everything was a page-turner from the first to the very last page. I was sad to find out this was the last book in the series because I’m DYING to read Marilyn and Noah’s story. He was so sweet and loving with her that I know Janie could write a comeback story for Marilyn that would make all of us swoon. I am definitely going to finish the Risk series and hopefully, Janie will continue to write great intrigue like this one for years to come. Make sure to pick this one up, you won’t be disappointed!
Awesome ending to a wonderful series. Tanner and Bree, “if it wasn’t for bad luck, they’d have no luck at all.” They went through so much even before this final book to get their happy ending. This book is full of action and suspense, you just want to keep reading to see if they finally get married. All the characters in this story are wonderfully developed and realistic. I highly recommend the book and the 4 book series.
