This was a charming beginning to the Changing Tides series.
Harris comes off as an arrogant city boy who has a bit of a temper. As a renowned heart surgeon, he has gone through life saving lives and unfortunately losing some. This time it wasn’t his fault, but with a mandated leave from the hospital and a liability lawsuit, his longtime assistant has set him up at a bed and breakfast in the small town of Seaside, Oregon.
Reid has a long history in his hometown. His restaurant Gale’s is Turing a profit and he’s striving to live up to his mothers legacy in the town. On one of busiest holiday’s for his pub, he befriends a stressed out stranger who needs a hot meal and a cold beer.
This was a lovely age gap romance. The two MC’s balance each other out perfectly. Although Harris has lived longer, he needs Reid to show him what it what it is like to truly live.

What a great start to a series. I fell in love with this story as easily as Harris ended up falling in love with Seaside, Oregon. He was correct; his PA needs a raise. Maggie is a godsend, despite only meeting her through phone conversations, and hearing Harris talk about her to Reid.
Harris is struggling after a tragedy on his operating table. What should have been simple and easy, went horribly wrong, instead, and he has no idea why. To make matters worse, he’s slapped with a lawsuit and a forced leave of absence. His PA, being her wonderful self, sent him off to Seaside, to get out of the crossfires. It’s all out if his hands at this point anyways. I really felt for Harris. I wanted to hug him and reassure him. Thankfully, he happened by a blond Adonis, who also volunteered for the job of comforting the broken man. While Harris pushed for more, Reid tried very hard to resist the man. Which got harder and harder to do. They had a connection that was such a bad idea, but oh so impossible to deny. Eventually, they both slip into the ‘I will think about it later’ mindset. Casual always becomes messy, and rejection is inevitable. They both deal with past hurts that drive these fears.
The character development was incredibly done. I could see why Reid stayed in Seaside even after growing up. It’s the perfect town. I cannot wait to read more books in this series, as I’ve fallen in book love with the men, and women, we met. Reid and Harris are absolutely adorable. Their hearts are golden, and I could easily befriend them in real life. I wish they were real, anyways.
The storyline flowed well and was easy to get lost in. I was aggravated when I had to put the book down. It was torture waiting until I could read it again. It was pretty steamy, too. They were DEFINITELY compatible, there. Wowza. Bryce Winters did a really good job with the book and has me on edge until I can read the next book. I’m ready to find out what happens with Lincoln, Dylan, Jake, Sasha, Julie, and Grayson. I hope I don’t have to wait too long. I’m not very patient when I love the characters…lol.

This is a great start to a trilogy and I can’t wait to read more in this series. The Changing Tides is a B&B that changes the lives of those who stay there and those who live in their small town of Seadside, OR. Reid owns a local restaurant and lives by the hard and fast rule of don’t mess around with the tourists. Harrison is a cardiac surgeon who had one case go horribly wrong and has to leave L.A in order to get away from the court case. Both men have instant chemistry and reasons to stay away but they just keep coming back together. This is a good story about learning to be true to yourself and what you want. A really nice book and I highly recommend it! The next book is about Reid’s friend Linc.
