The stakes have never been higher, and she’s full of the devil.
Edward Fasbender is my husband.
Together, we brought down powerful men.
Now we have a chance to start over. To be the family neither of us ever had, to leave the past in the past where it belongs. Edward has a choice to make.
It will decide if we fall into the flames–or rise together.
Rising is the fourth and final book in the … together.
Rising is the fourth and final book in the Slay Quartet.

This review will cover books 2-4. Everything kind of blended for me, and I couldn’t distinguish between these three books. AMAZING STORY, AND BEAUTIFUL ENDING!
There’s so much action going on in these three books. From Celia’s uncle to Edward’s ex-wife, Edward’s grown children finding their way in the world. When add in Hudson Pierce and his wife, Elena. this is one couple that needs some alone time.
Celia and Daniel are both broken, and I think that lends to their strong pull whether they’re fighting or getting along. Having been this rebel for years, she doesn’t realize how much she needs Edward’s command. Granted, his ways are seriously on the warped side, but I believe his intentions were kind of honorable once they got past their rough patch from the island. But things aren’t all sunshine and roses w/the Fassbender couple. Celia is still holding secrets, and so is Edward. Both quite stubborn in their ways, they learn how much they need each other.
Edward and Celia’s love is a hard-fought one, and as much as they disagree, they’ll come to each other’s defense in a heartbeat. They’ve both taught one another how to love the right way; the way that works for them.
I really enjoyed this series, and I hate I waited so long. Shane East and Elena Wolfe were amazing in their narration. These two have a gift of inhabiting the characters they narrate, and it lends to such a wonderful aural experience. I urge you to read the Fixed series so you can get and appreciate the full effect of Celia’s redemption.
What a journey! This series was intense and yet loving. There was hatred but lots of steam yet it all wrapped up beautifully. Edward is the perfect person for Camilla vice versa. It was worth all the angst the story caused to get to this end. It is a must read!
Laurelin Paige brings the journey to an end for Edward and Celia Fasbender.
As Celia rises from the ashes after her uncles arrest, she deals with her secrets and relationships of the past as well as trying to pull her husband to their future with their daughter.
Edward has lived most of his life seeking revenge of people from the past who has slighted him or someone he loves. But, he doesn’t want to have to reveal his secrets.
They both are learning about the new or dormant emotions they don’t know what to do with.
As Celia concedes and trusts her husband to attempt to reclaim the shares the she had sold to Hudson Pierce, she still is hoping that her husband does not attempt the war he has promised on Hudson.
Edward has continued his quest to reclaim his wife’s shares to her families company, but when he really listens to what Celia is trying to tell him, he starts to really reflect on what he should do.
Can they get past all the revenge and have a true future?
A must read for this spectacular finale to a story.
This was one of the most surprising and satisfying series finales I have read. It was unexpected in so many ways. After so much cathartic darkness and whipsaw emotions, I loved that Edward and Celia finally and irrevocably cemented their bond in a quiet, contemplative, introspective story arc. The way Ms. Paige allowed her Devil and Dragon come to terms with and settle into their ever after was elegant and graceful. It really touched my heart.
This story has become one of my all time favorites because of the simple fact that it’s all about a girl we’re not supposed to like and how she was always a woman we could love and admire. And it wasn’t the love of a good man who cured her. It was the love of two dark, damaged souls who found a way to the light together.
PS I really like Hudson even less now. #TeamCelia

Wow, my mind is blown away with the last book! Laurelin is a master story teller with her words! Edward and Celia have been tangled in a web of lies, secrets, wanting, lust, hatred, dependency, vulnerability, friendship and love! It has been such a wild ride with these two as we’ve finally reached the conclusion of their story! These two characters have grown so much since we started these books and Celia has definitely matured a lot and found redemption with readers. It’s a deliciously sinful, angsty and emotional story with and ending that is amazing! Love this set of books!
What a great ending to the series. This is book four of Edward and Celia’s life. This book pretty much picks up from where book two ended. They should be read in order. Even though there is still betrayal and secrets in this book, they do all come to light as most do. Edward and Celia are building a life together. One that Edward didn’t plan on having. He never thought he would fall in love with Celia. And Celia never thought that she could have happiness in her life. These two complement each other. He’s the little bit of dark that Celia needs to ground her and she is the light to that darkness. Hudson and Alayna are in this book as well. I love how the Pierce’s world interacts with the Fasbender’s. Celia and Hudson were not nice people in their past, but they have both tried to move on from that. Hudson found Alayna and Celia found Edward. Knowing that they could be loved, changed everything. Children can seem to do that as well. Edward wasn’t so sure if he wanted any any more children, considering he has two grown children. But when their baby is born, he knows he was wrong to think that way. He adores her. When the two secrets that are left between them are reveled, will they recover from them? I am now a Celia fan, I didn’t use to be. But I I think she’ll grow on you as well. This is a must read series.
I love love loved reading this series. It has been a ride. I’ve loved Edward, in all of his demanding, domineering ways. Edward and Celia’s relationship is complex and navigating it leads to other tribulations with outside influences. They have had a lot to work through.
