The stakes have never been higher, and she’s full of the devil.
Edward Fasbender is my husband.
Together, we brought down powerful men.
Now we have a chance to start over. To be the family neither of us ever had, to leave the past in the past where it belongs. Edward has a choice to make.
It will decide if we fall into the flames–or rise together.
Rising is the fourth and final book in the … together.

I surprisingly loved this series. Celia wasn’t a favored character in the Fixed series but, she made her own way with Edward and I’m so glad that I got to enjoy the ride. There were definitely ups and downs and surprises…but so good!
:
.
This was a great conclusion for Edward and Celia’s story.
I’m pretty sure everyone hated Celia in the Fixed Series, I did too . But I was intrigued by her I just love fucked up people what can I say .
.
After reading Celia’s story and knowing how she became THE Celia we all hated, I stopped hating her. She has been through a lot of things and in order not to break and survive she became a monster. .
Edward was a different monster, but a monster nonetheless. He started this journey fueled by revenge and hatred but he ended up falling in love with Celia, and that changed everything.
I loved him and hated him at the same time, he just couldn’t bear to give up his revenge and it almost cost him the woman he loved.
.
I was really satisfied with the way everything ended. Seeing the transformation of Celia was breathtaking. She got to have everything she ever wanted and that made me happy.
To say I loved this series would be an understatement. It is simply PHENOMENAL
It’s extremely hard to come away from reading any of Laurelin Paige’s books without feeling emotional. Her stories are always so masterfully written and brilliantly told. Edward and Celia were fiery, vibrant, magnetic and intriguing. They were passionate and intense. I felt like I was right there with them riding all their highs and lows.
I suffered through every emotion that this book had to offered and loved every single minute of it. Don’t think I need to say how freakin AMAZING this book was!
Great series, loved reading Celia’s life after the fixed series! Have a whole new appreciation for Celia x
The final instalment of the series, Rising is the perfect way to end this amazing series.
From the man who slayed the dragon, how Edward with his sadistic mind games and his hunger for revenge aimed Celia.
And how cold and numb Celia was until the man who wants her dead become the fire that’s bring her back to life.
To the game they play in the name of revenge. His avenging in her name. Until one last revenge he wanted is her biggest secret.
Will Edward still pursue his hunger of revenge of what he sees as her justice?
Will Celia still bow down to her King and let him do what he call his job to protect her in any means including going in to war to one of the powerful man she protected so?
This series is so beautifully written. I enjoy every second of it. Each book need to be read carefully and slowly to learn how every main character move and feels and captivating you slowly but sure.
For you who have read Hudson stories, I think Rising also be closure to Hudson and Celia+Edward relationship. For you who hate Celia from Hudson story might see her in different light. For me, it’s a full circle with this book.
Wow, the Ending was so unexpected. Celia and Edward had came so far. Sweet Victorius and the Darkshadow Devil.
Rising was a breathtaking scenery from the epic saga. I had loved Celia Werner from the beginning until the new Dragon lady.
Rising were full with dynamics and the hype of relationships between Edward and Celia. It was so good! They werent so shy about how they feel toward each others.
Genuine love.. Jealousy.. Insecurities…Sexual Relationships.. Mind Game..Secrets… Shame…Regret..Aftermath..
Slay series were the perfect circle of the broken love. Nothing can be unsalvage because Edward and Celia had saved each other. Hard Love, the way it was and even the Devil himself found love.. Celia was his salvation
~Crystal’s Book World Review~
Rising just blew me away!! It brings you full circle to the Slay Quartet. What started as a duet, I am so happy Laurelin took her time and brought us four amazing books. The slow burn between Celia and Edward brought me to my knees.
Hudson and Alayna are ever so present and I loved it! Chandler was a bit too quiet for me, but you get his full story with his book. So I was good all the way around. Edward still had me suspicious, so not only did he have to prove to Celia he is ready to be everything she needs, he had to convince me too. Well friends….lets just say you are in for a twisty ride!!!
Rising was written with heart and brings light to an enemy from the past to her redemption! This is a game changer!!! You don’t want to miss out!
This is the final book it is spectacular!
Edward is not going to forgive Celia for getting pregnant any time soon. They are both so stubborn! Celia has to come to grips with the fact that she manipulated Edward so she could get pregnant. That does not build trust. So the tension reigns in their hotel suite, as Celia must stay in the US to have her baby.
In the meantime, the fight for the shares of Werner company is creating all sorts of problems. Celia is in a mess of trouble over this. Meddling again, she once again manipulates the situation and blinsides Edward…. You must read how these two fight. It is mind boggling.
And that is not all, but I better not spoil this for you. If you have been reading this series, you will not want to miss the conclusion.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
Wow. What a perfect way to end Celia and Edward’s story. I feel like it’s come full circle. So much resolution for all the characters. I loved how it had moments from other stories woven in from different perspectives because it definitely changed the way I viewed the situation; like the initial meeting at the hotel when Hudson and Alayna come looking for the journals.
When I finished the book it left a sweet taste in my mouth. It wasn’t as “dark” as the first three and I definitely think that’s the way it should be. I’m content where LP has brought (and left) these characters on this journey. I know a lot of readers fought this story but I’m so glad she wrote it!! I love that she stepped outta the box to redeem both Edward and Celia.
Superb!! What an incredible end to this brilliantly intense series. The growth and transformations that both Celia and Edward go through are beautifully written, combining emotions and events perfectly. I have loved the build up throughout each book and this book!! It is truly the icing on the cake and has me wanting to go back to the start and read the whole series again. Laurelin Paige gets better and better, if that is possible. Wonderful. The epilogue is perfect!
I freaking loved this book. Laurelin Paige literally “slayed” it with Celia and Edward Fassbender. They are beautifully complex and they are character you love to and hate to love. Celia is humanized in this series and I truly love her character. Edward is Celia with more power and a bigger grudge.
Rising is just that. A Phoenix from the ashes. Recognition and acceptance of what is truly important in life and striving the be a better person. I love the dialogue with Hudson and Edward. And the last few chapters were enough to completely melt my heart.
Hands down one of my favorite series. And the audio version made it that much better. I mean Shane East!! Bloody brilliant Edward Fassbender!
Perfect book to end perfect series.
I love Celia, love Edward and adore their story.
Rising is the right word to name this book and together they did just that. If you read other book by Paige then this story is even better the perfect.
The final book in the Slay series, Celia Werner was a character you hated in the Fixed series with Hudson Pierce & his wife Elena. All the damage she caused them through the secret games that her & Hudson had played.
The Devil & the Dragon (his Bird) slayed each other and was precisely what they both needed. Edward Fastbender accepted Celia for exactly who she was, damaged. Edward slay each and every one of Celia demons. Celia challenged Edward in the way the Dominate never knew he wanted to be challenged, yes, Edward wanted a submissive, however he need submission and a challenge, Celia gave him everything he wanted in a sub/wife. No one really knew Celia’s pain she was hurting from childhood trauma nor why. All Celia wanted was someone to love her through her pain and that is what she found in Edward. Great ending for Edward & Celia Fasbender!!!
Wow! What an ending. I have said it every time and it becomes truer each time. This author is phenomenal! She has made me fall in love with a villain I did not think was possible to ever like. Celia has met the devil himself in Edward and throughout their story, he has made her a better person. Rising proves that even the devil needs rescuing from an angel. Celia shows Edward the woman he created and changed for the better. She will force his hand into life changing decisions and the outcome is well worth it. The biggest secret of all will be revealed and I did not expect see how it would be handled, but it was handled in true fashion of this couple.
I encourage you to pick up this quartet now that it is completed. Absolutely breathtaking!!!
Throughout this entire quartet, Edward Fasbender has pushed his wife, Celia, to her limits, in a litany of ways. She’s been torn to shreds by Edward’s biting retorts and brought to her knees by his commanding presence and his need for total dominance when it comes to different areas of their relationship. But through it all, Celia has held her own, despite the emotional torment she endured at her husband’s hands.
It’s easy to trace the power struggle between these two from the very beginning, and while it seemed like Edward always had the upperhand, Celia wielded way more control than she thought. But even more powerful were the secrets that had yet to be shared between them, and the unraveling of those remaining bombshells built up quite the angst and agitation.
I’ve made it more than apparent what my feelings for Celia Warren are/were ever since she was introduced in the Fixed series. But as her and Edward’s story continued to unfold, especially in this last part, I felt sorry for her and had quite the conflicted emotions when it came to one of my absolute favorite book boyfriends, Hudson Pierce. And it absolutely sucked that I had to acknowledge his culpability in everything that went down with his and Celia’s games, and while she most definitely was reprehensible in her words and actions, so was Hudson, and Edward works diligently to make that known.
As much as Rising is about the couple soaring above their tumultuous beginnings, making things work in a way that’s fulfilling, it’s also about Celia’s transformation becoming complete; her finding the man who can handle her and who can love her for who she is and who she becomes, faults and all. And when everything was said and done, when these characters unraveled each other and worked toward something so much different than what they were initially resolved to do, Edward and Celia became exactly what they needed to be for one another.
4.5 Poison Apples
With each installment of this series I’ve come to understand Celia more and fallen more in love with Edward. In the beginning of this journey I could’ve cared less about anything to do with Celia, but now understanding where she came from and what all she’s been through, I see her for the brave strong woman that she is.
The author did a fantastic job of putting everything out there…. good or bad. And I for one love the whole story. Edward is one of my favorite characters and I will most definitely read this series many times over. Rising was the perfect ending and I highly recommend it and the whole series. Absolutely loved it!

Rising is the fourth and final book in the Slay Quartet written by author Laurelin Paige. I have absolutely loved this series, and this last book could not have come soon enough! Just a reminder that this series has a continuous storyline, so you’ll need to read them in order.
Rising is above and beyond what I could have even imagined. It was emotional, intense, and I literally loved every minute of it. Not only was the storyline fabulous, but I really enjoyed the growth that the characters went through. Both Celia and Edward went through a lot throughout the whole series, and I was so happy with the conclusion! I don’t want to say too much as I really do think you need to experience it for yourself!
A fabulous ending to an amazing series!

Laurelin is simply amazing. I have NO idea how she got me to love Celia and Edward! I have never liked Celia and Edward scared me from the second I read about him. I absolutely loved to read about Edward’s evolution. I don’t want to give away any details, but he got sexier and more human by the page. Thank you, Laurelin for your masterpieces you create. I will always say you wrote my most favorite character, Hudson Pierce. So, I was thrilled to see him make appearance. I would love to read more about any of these characters in this world!
4 Stars!
Edward and Celia Fasbender’s often turbulent, unconventional, passionate relationship continues in this final installment of the Slay quartet. They’ve gone from rivals, to spouses, to lovers, to sometimes barely on speaking terms. Lately they’d lost sight of what truly mattered, and hadn’t yet recovered from secrets that threatened to destroy their happiness. Their was a constant power play between them over who would bend first, but Edward challenged Celia and gave her something she’d never had before. For so long not feeling had become second nature to her. Now, her husband’s love and attention were something she craved and needed. She isn’t the same person she used to be. This new Celia is vulnerable and exposed, but grounded. Will this couple finally have it all, or will the quest for vengeance compromise their future?
Rising: Slay Four by Laurelin Paige is the exciting, emotional conclusion to Edward and Celia’s epic love story. This enemies to lovers romance is sexy, intense, and full of angst. It’s a captivating, consuming story about survival, and an alpha male and his fierce female who battle it out for control. I loved this series and this couple! The constant fire between them was explosive and addicting!
WOW!!! Laurelin Paige gave the final book her all! This incredible power couple, Edward and Celia Fasbender have come full circle. From the hated rival in the Fixed Trilogy Celia has become a character
I truly came to love and understand. Edward’s dominance and sheer love made Celia a changed woman, for the better. There’s definitely some unexpected up’s and downs that keep them on their toes. Their chemistry and intense love scenes were sizzling! I love the way Laurelin pulls all the threads together to weave a beautiful ending to such an incredible series! I hope we will see more of Edward and Celia in books to come <3
