“If you thought that there was no reason left for living after the end of the Sorcerer’s Ring series, you were wrong. In RISE OF THE DRAGONS Morgan Rice has come up with what promises to be another brilliant series, immersing us in a fantasy of trolls and dragons, of valor, honor, courage, magic and faith in your destiny. The #1 Bestseller!
From #1 Bestselling author Morgan Rice comes a sweeping new epic fantasy series: RISE OF THE DRAGONS (KINGS AND SORCERERS—Book 1).
Kyra, 15, dreams of becoming a famed warrior, like her father, even though she is the only girl in a fort of boys. As she struggles to understand her special skills, her mysterious inner power, she realizes she is different than the others. But a secret is being kept from her about her birth and the prophecy surrounding her, leaving her to wonder who she really is.
Just as Kyra is coming of age, the local lord comes to take her away. Her father wants to wed her off to save her. Kyra, though, refuses, and she quests on her own, into a dangerous wood, where she encounters a wounded dragon—and ignites a series of events that will change the kingdom forever.
15 year old Alec, meanwhile, sacrifices for his brother, taking his place in the draft, and is carted off to The Flames, a wall of flames a hundred feet high that wards off the army of Trolls to the east. On the far side of the kingdom, Merk, a mercenary striving to leave behind his dark past, quests through the wood to become a Watcher of the Towers and help guard the Sword of Fire, the paranormal source of the kingdom’s power. But the Trolls want the Sword, too—and they prepare for a massive invasion that could destroy the kingdoms forever.
With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, RISE OF THE DRAGONS is a sweeping, romantic saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, action, adventure, destiny, sorcery, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, of ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.
Book #2 in KINGS AND SORCERERS is also now available!
“RISE OF THE DRAGONS succeeds—right from the start…. A superior fantasy…It begins, as it should, with one protagonist’s struggles and moves neatly into a wider circle of knights, dragons, magic and monsters, and destiny.…All the trappings of high fantasy are here, from soldiers and battles to confrontations with self….A recommended winner for any who enjoy epic fantasy writing fueled by powerful, believable young adult protagonists.”

Loved it
The series is enjoyable but it would be nice if they had more pages.
Good story. It was enjoyable, and it laid down the foundation for the next book(s) in the series very well.
Morgan Rice tells a splended story. I’m sure you will find any of her works to be good reading. In this, the first of a “Dragon” series we meet several interesting characters. Kyra being the main one. As the daughter of the Warrior commander she oftern slips away to train. Sometimes to watch the men train and then practice what she has …
Wayne Farrell does a good job narrating this first book in Morgan Rice’s Kings and Sorcerers series. A coming of age story for 15 year old Kyra who desperately wants to be a noble warrior, 15 year old Alec who trades his life for his brothers when slaves are needed to guard the wall of fire that keep the trolls at bay, and assassin, Merk, who is …
I love this book, I totally recommend this book to people who is into Sci-Fi fantasy.!
It was okay, but it needed some editing.
Promising start that doesn’t really go anywhere. I was enthralled by the first volume of this book. Unfortunately, the rest were just a poorly rehashed version of the first, with plot holes, repeated fight scenes, poor editing, and no payback for the investment of time and money. Disappointing because the first book holds so much potential, but …
Is this trying to be like Game of Thrones? wall of flame instead of wall of ice, first dragon in a thousand years and just like GOT you have to buy another book to see what happens to the characters.
Add to wish list.
The book was easy to read. I kept going back to it to see what happened next. Sometimes you need to be in a fantasy world.
Disappointed, plot moved slowly, too many ends left hanging, characters not very inspiring
A powerful story, then you need to get to the next one.
Loved this book, I was hooked from the first page!
Again with this author the editor is over indulgent or lazy. I tighter descriptive hand would raise this series to a 5.
A good read
This is a great series that is easy to read and very entertaining. I am always looking forward to next book as soon as I finish!
it was guud
Great book. Well thought out characters and world. Every book ended on a cliff hanger, which is annoying. Read 3 of the series and stopped. I might return and read the others.
So far I love the start of this book because it tells me that women can do what men can do.
