She finds her way to a run down bar where she encounters Garrick the bored and drunk Dragon King. They up back at Garrick’s place talking and finding that her problem of marrying her to Xander so her gets control of her spell book from her mother as she is the only who can open it but once they control it they plan to take over from the council which is where it will become Garrick’s problem. The next day Garrick goes as a customer to the restaurant run by Xander’s father and there her over hears that her father is selling her and the book to them. Garrick is angry on her behalf but manages to leave without letting on he is there to spy.
