WOW what a read! Well written with a fantastic storyline the author has built an amazing world that you can easily get lost in! Action packed and filled with twists and turns you can really feel mother nature’s (Gaia) wrath at how badly the earth has been treated and you can easily compare it to our world today! A fast paced read with a great MC this is definitely well worth a read!
Marking this book for later reading! Awesome looking title from an independent author–especially like the environmental themes illustrated in the description.
This is an Epic Read. Its fast paced and action packed. The Author has done a fantastic job at World building, and the Characters are brought out great. I was able to visualise the scenes as I read. Just like I was there in the story. I definitely recommend.

An action packed stand-alone filled with plot twists and unexpected trials! This MC faces conflict between the will of a parent versus the fate of friends. Mother Nature takes a surprising role in this tale making this storyline very unique. Parts of this felt slightly laggy but the tale itself kept me reading. I couldn’t help but notice the parallel between our reality and the this book. Hopefully this doesn’t trigger anyone. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Wow! This is am amazing story. I absolutely love the dynamic between Terran and Beth. I found myself laughing during many moments of their kinship. It almost makes me miss high school…almost. Their friendship stood the test with a selfless sacrifice that saves everything.
Terran is a great MC and I felt myself struggling along with her. I can relate to her being a nature lover and a quiet unknown floater in social circles.
The main theme of this story is so relevant to our society today, and a reminder of how precious our resources truly are. Makes you wonder… what if Gaia was real….
I sincerely appreciate Kristin Ward for allowing me the pleasure of reading and reviewing this wonderful story.
Wow! A truly wonderful standalone story! “Rise Of Gaia” has it all….friendship, kinship, hate, rage, love and pain. This story brings out all the feels!
The characters are fantastic, the storyline a down right harsh reality, although the story is anything but and the world building is truly astounding!
Absolutely a great book!
Exceptional world-building and relatable characters, tied in with a raw and gritty environmental theme, make this one of the better books I have read this year. The author tells a fantastical story that feels grounded in our current world, especially in our current political climate. I received an advance reader copy in exchange for my honest review.

Terran’s 17th birthday begins more weird than she ever anticipated. She expected presents and special food and well wishes. But what she didn’t expect were visions showing her horrible things happening to the Earth and the people and animals around her. Afraid to worry her parents she confides in her best friend Beth and Beth suggests they tell her mom. When the visions get worse, they consult a medium and Terran’s world view shifts drastically. She’s just an ordinary teenage girl. Or is she?
Since the title of this book is Rise of Gaia, I don’t think I’m giving anything away by saying that it’s about Gaia rising up to seek revenge on those who are killing her. But she’s this entity, one so massive and powerful and yet sick because of what humans have done to the Earth. So, she calls upon her children to help her. To Terran’s surprise, she’s not just one of them – she’s the favorite. Gaia’s special chosen one. Yeah, don’t get excited, this is not quite the honor you’re imagining it is.
The Earth is sick. It’s being destroyed by mankind. On this I agree 100%. I’m pissed about it and I just live here. Think about if someone were slowly killing you. And you knew they were doing it, but you had no voice to fight back and were growing weaker and weaker. Wouldn’t that, you know, upset you a tiny bit? Well, Gaia is more than upset a tiny bit. Whew doggie. Just you wait until you see what happens. And poor Terran is stuck in the middle. I couldn’t help but compare Terran to Dexter’s sister Deb in the show Dexter. There are parallels to their individual situations and if you’ve seen the show and then read this book, I think you might agree with me. I will say no more. This is an intriguing read if you’re pissed about what’s happening to our planet and want to see what Gaia would do if she were a real entity. A great YA Fantasy with roots grounded in the real world. I recommend.
AMAZING! If you enjoy Mother Nature and believe in her, this is the perfect story. I recommend this to anyone who loves nature. Definitely worth to read!
Terran discovers that she is the daughter of Gaia, put on the earth to help carry out her will. Gaia is angry and Terran struggles to bring together her love for those in her life and Gaia’s will.
The story is interesting and the characters are okay but, honestly, it was difficult for me to get into this book. There was quite a bit happening all at once but it felt repetitive and, at times, like the story wasn’t really moving forward.
This book is very introspective, with the main character trying to work through her internal struggle with what she is destined to do. Terran’s struggle feels very genuine and is something that I would imagine anyone would struggle with in the same situation. Truly, it’s the crux of the issue at the center of almost any environmental debate. This story isn’t for the faint of heart.
