Elia de Wolfe wants to go home after her father writes that he wishes for the queen to pick her a husband. Wanting to make her own choice, she seeks aid from Ferand de Montfort to take her home. He’s more than willing to do so, knowing he will then have time to convince her to become his wife. Love this world!
For a novella, this packed a lot into it’s pages that kept me totally engaged. The great granddaughter of legendary warrior William de Wolfe Elia de Wolfe has listen to the stories of her family from her grandfather as she grew up. Ella’s father sends her to court away from home due to the dangers times between the Scots and the English. Appointed lady in waiting to the Queen, she spends several years at court, but always longs for home. She finds her way, when she meets Ferand de Montfort who has come to London to find a wife. Seeing Elia, he is at once taken with her and has to meet her. What follows is a great adventure that pulls them together, with many truths and danger involved.
This is not a story to be missed and you will be drawn in quickly. Loved it!

There was a lot packed into this short story, but well written! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I loved both characters Elia was feisty and sweet. Ferand was sexy, masculine but was very sweet! I definitely recommend this one!
Elia de Wolfe was sent away from her home because her father thinks it’s safer further south.
Our heroine wants nothing more than to go home. She has no intention of marrying anyone who lives far from her beloved homeland, no matter what her father wants.
Ferand de Montfort lost his first wife and son to childbirth years ago. Now it’s time to choose the type of woman he’s always wanted. The Royal Court is the obvious place to look.
A very nice link between stories from two of my favourite authors.
A journey almost the full length of England gives our characters plenty of time for learning about each other and a little danger to face.
Great fun.
This was a great read. This is about Elia, Patrick de Wolfe’s granddaughter. She was his favorite according to her father. After certain circumstances, when her father and brother return, he sends her to London away from the war and killing to protect his only daughter. But when she decides to return home along with Ferand (who lost his young wife and son years ago), she has decisions to make about going home or staying with Ferand.
