Rory Frazier’s birthright is to lead their secret colony of selkies, but only if he and his blood brother, Evan Sinclair, can find their mate. While fate brought Jessica to them, uncovering the colony’s dark past may just send her running.
This thrilling series debut has strong, passionate characters that readers can easily relate to and easily captures their hearts with a heartfelt romance full of sizzling chemistry. The relationship is full of fiery sparks, scorching hot passion and lots of sweetness but it is also full of emotional turmoil due to secrets being revealed that impact their lives and of course Jessica having to come to terms with a triad relationship. Readers can’t help but sympathize with Jessica and encourage her to seize her future with both hands as they become caught up in their story.
The plot of the story is fast paced and full of suspense and excitement as the truth about Jessica’s past and with some stunning twists, the colony’s secrets comes to light as well as who and what Jessica really is. The author has created a wonderfully steamy and fascinating world about selkies with her own unique twist on the mythology that really changes things up, especially her take on their skins ensuring that readers can really sink their teeth into the excitement and passion, leaving reality behind.
A really unique mythology, loved it!
This story is so heartbreaking in some respects, but it is also hopeful and sweet and oh so sexy. Jess is strong, independent, and self sufficient, but loosing her mother has left her somewhat broken. Rory and Evan have their own problems in their colony of seal shifters. This whole tale is so enthralling. I was wrapped up in it from the first page. That it was a new paranormal sub genre (to me) and done so well just made it more interesting and their falling in love story all the more sweet.
Fascinating legend, hot romance!
Rory Frazier and his blood brother, Evan, feel an immediate draw to Jessica when they meet her. What a fascinating story this is. I’ve only encountered a few stories that explore this particular legend. I love it! Rory and Evan are strong characters with widely differing personalities. Jess is independent: a well-established author, but she feels lonely. She responds beautifully to their courtship, although she’s pretty ignorant of her heritage. The heat level is high as they pursue their attraction to each other. Packed with romance, discoveries, family reunions, and did I mention passion? Very entertaining!
Interesting take on selkies, but I wish there was a little more of their culture and story with a little less sex–that started to overwhelm the story line.
This is the first book in the Kismet series and it is full of myth and mystery as it draws you in and keeps you engaged until the very last page
Jessica recently lost her mother and has inherited a cabin on the wild west coast of Ireland from her she heads there to get over her loss and do some writing because she is a fairly well established writer who uses a pseudonym. She remembers that when she was younger and at the cabin she had nearly been dragged into the sea by a large grey seal only her mother rescued her. This time she is caught in riptide and dragged out but this time it is two gorgeous guys that save her. Rory and Evan are instantly attracted to Jessica and soon spends a lot of time with her How will she handle their secret and will she be willing to be with both of them seeing as she is their mate. You will have to read to see
A new series called Kismet Cove and I know I want to read the next book this is a well written story that held my interest until the end. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Even if you’re not ready, open your heart and mind to new adventures! Jessica is following a letter by her deceased Mothe, to a beach inheritance into the unknown in search of answers. Rory is Selkie leader. Evan, his blood brother searching for a mate to share. While at the beach, Jess gets drawn out to sea by a riptide. Luckily, rory and Evan save her. She slowly begins a journey where she recalls incidents from her childhood which answers some questions and opens doors to others. This is a delightful story of self discovery, expanding the mind and being willing to be open to the unfamiliar and unbelievable. Nice story. Wonderful characters. Good theme. You end up rooting for this thruple to find a good way to happy. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Whoever said seals were not hot has not read Riptide. Holy cow! I was hooked and did not put this book down. Jessica was given the cabin that belongs to her parents after her mother’s death, along with a box holding some interesting contents. This begins the journey to love and history for her. Evan and Rory know Jessica is theirs as soon as they save her life, but how can that be? She is human! This story has interesting parts, oh that is a good interesting too. Can these three have a HEA or will Evan and Rory ruin everything?
Off to read the next in the series!!!
Selkies in Kismet Cove.
Jess is a crime writer whose mother died and left her the family cabin in Tofino. She almost drowns and is rescued by Evan and Rory. Rory is cranky and they share everything, even their women.
But is Jess their mate? Because she’s human and not a selkie, right?

Riptide is the first book in the Kismet Cove series. Jessica’s mother just died and she has now inherited a cabin by the sea. Fascinated by the waves, she’s sucked into a riptide that takes her far away from shore. She’s surprised when a seal saves her life, and even more shocked to find herself wanting two men. Rory and Evan saved Jess, but while they’re willing to share everything with her, they’re hiding a big secret. Will Jess accept all aspects of their life and solve some mysteries from her own past?
This book is full of myth, passion, acceptance, and love! It’s fast paced, and I was flipping pages to find out what happens next between Jess, Rory, and Evan! I loved this book! Jess has some insecurities, but I loved that she was willing to open her heart to two guys. She was a little sassy at times, but was more than strong enough to stand against and for two men. Rory and Evan were pretty amazing because where one had a temper like the waves of the sea, the other could hold steady like the rocks near the shore. I loved their dynamic, I loved their connection, and just about swooned with the way they felt and acted towards Jess. The three of them definitely hit a few bumpy stages in their relationship, but I loved that they constantly put each other first. They all brought out the goodness and light in each other, as well as all of the passion, phew! I also love how the myths that Jess was raised on played into the romance and story as well! This book kept my interest, had the perfect combination of building a relationship, steamy scenes, and drama, and I am so excited for the next book in this series!
The sex scenes are okay nothing revolutionary or even remarkable. The selkie thing is a bit of a spin, I prefer werewolves or ursines myself. From what I understand about seal colonies they are mainly harems with a large male and a bunch of females–so not good for the whole soul mate aspect. The folklore was a good way to work in a triad, best backstory of the concept yet. But like most smut the characters were too perfect and not detailed enough to lend much needed reality.
Good story, very erotic. Want to read the next one. Enjoy!
Cheers
This was a good book. Strong characters. Good plot. The only thing lacking was a good proofreading.
I’ll be reading the next one.
Cute story, but felt like it could’ve cut some parts out. Just felt some were unnecessary.
I loved it so much and read it so fast that I turned around and found the second book and read it.
Cute story! Really enjoyed this book.
A different read from what im used to. Meaning the shapeshifting. It was different but cool idea
Selkie idea interesting.
Nice story that doesn’t run very deep, but has a plot and is mit just about Action between the sheets.
Great read, thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the story. Bought the second book, too, which was lovely as well..
