RIPPLES- UnabridgedA Consequences Stand-alone NovelYou don’t have to read the Consequences series to enjoy this stand-alone novel, but if you know Tony Rawlings, you know that disappointing him isn’t an option. Imagine being his youngest daughter…imagine telling him the unimaginable…“Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it.”Sometimes ideas find you, and dreams begin as … history are doomed to repeat it.”
Sometimes ideas find you, and dreams begin as nightmares. Sometimes the truth that has been kept hidden is the key to opening a door you never knew existed.
“You might not know me. I’m the baby of the Rawlings family, the princess, the daughter who came along later. I’m not like my older siblings, successful at everything they touch. My mother and father have provided me with every luxury as well as their unyielding love and support, but I’m not spoiled. I’m also not content. By example, my parents have shown me how love should be. I don’t know their past, and that doesn’t matter. I know what I’ve seen—two people devoted to one another.
I don’t believe that I’ll ever find that kind of love, the kind that forgives and accepts all. And as my life falls to pieces and I travel to visit my family to face their disappointment, I’m not even looking for it.
I’m looking for an escape…from my life as a Rawlings…from the pressure to achieve and not let others down. I dream of the time I can live for my own desires without the expectations that come with my name.
I don’t find what I’m seeking…it finds me. Or should I say…he finds me.
This time is different. I have a family who will search for me and find the answers. Little do we know—any of us—that my father set my journey into motion long before I was born.”
“Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects.” ~Dalai Lama
Ripples (Unabridged Version) is Natalie’s story, the youngest of Tony and Claire’s children—their baby. This story first appeared in shorter form in Glamour: Contemporary Fairytale Retellings. Due to the length restriction of each novella in that anthology, many scenes in Ripples were shortened or omitted for that anthology. This unabridged edition is the entire story—double in length and—a full-length novel.
Please enjoy this Consequences novel along with special appearances from your favorite Consequences characters.

This story was poignant and very thought-provoking. Our actions can influence our lives for years to come and in ways, we could never expect or anticipate.
Natalie and Dexter’s story is everything you expect in a Aleatha Romig Book,a dark tale full of grit, sexuality and twisted emotions. The writing is superb, putting you right in the room with Natalie and Dexter.
The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars instead of 5 is the ending, although a complete story I was left needing a deeper resolution.
The darker side of Aleatha is back with this spin off tale from the Consequences series. You don’t have to have read any of the Consequences series to read this as this is about Tony and Claire’s children, not themselves.
Natalie is the baby of the family, the Princess, always able to get her own way having her Father’s determination and her Mother’s submission. She’s not like her other two siblings and wants something more from life. She’s just failed at Harvard and is not looking forward to telling her parents. But on her plane home she meets Dexter, who has different plans for Natalie. She has no idea that the man sitting next to her is about the turn her world upside down and change her life forever.
This is a story of history repeating itself and the sins of the parents catching up with the children. Natalie is kidnapped by Dexter, who plans to make her his Queen, by showing her just how spoilt she is and by changing her outlook and view on life.
This is a dark read full of dominance and submission, torture and abuse. It will have you on the edge as Natalie (aka Bug) is dominated by Dexter.
The book ends for me just as it was getting going, so I hope to God there is going to be more books to read after this from Aleatha, it can’t possibly end where it has!!! A 5 star dark and edgy read.
Ms. Romig has done it again, giving us her signature twists and turns, pushes and pulls, gasps and cringes until the reader is on the edge of their seat. In this novel, we get the story of the youngest Rawlings child, Natalie. As with all of the author’s books, you can’t help but be captivated and held hostage until the last page. The writing ebbs and flows in such a delicious way, building story and suspense, taking you on a journey you wish would never end. Ripples is another beautifully written, dark read from this author. Two thumbs-up and more, more, more please!
Love Love Love
Ripples by Aleatha Romig is a stand-alone novel from one of my all-time favorite stories, Consequences.
Ripples is full of emotion and surprises–moments that break your heart and heal it too. Once again, Aleatha brings us new friends and family and reunites us with old ones. I’ve missed and longed for more Consequences as their story has been embedded in my heart and soul. Ripples only solidified the love and bond with the Rawlings.
Aleatha is a master bringing her characters alive and taking you into their lives. Her writing is brilliant and emotional. You will never be disappointed in her stories.
The characters in all of Aleatha’s stories are always multi-dimensional–no one is what it seems. As the layers are pulled back so are the motives which drive the characters. The story will keep you questioning and intrigued.
I loved the story-
When reading an Aleatha Romig book I have to turn everything else off and submerge myself in her stories. She puts you on a journey and once you’re on that path you are hers. She has a way with taking hold of your attention and owning it till she is done. I loved every minute of it.
This is an amazing story. It is dark, suspenseful, edge of your seat epic. There is a bit of everything in this for anyone who loves a romance book that takes you out of your comfort zone. I’m not going to say a lot more because I’m not going to ruin it for anyone. It’s Aleatha Romig and that’s all you need to know.
Steamy
Aleatha has been a favorite author of mine for a long time and I recommend her work regularly. This book had the twists and turns that I have come to expect from her. That said, this novel did not meet the caliber of its family. There was so much potential for this plot and it just fell short. I failed to connect with Dexter and only a little bit with Natalie. The book felt rushed, making it difficult for characters to develop and that “forgiveness” from the reader to happen.
As a Consequences fan, I appreciated revisiting old favorites and being back in that world. I wish we could have learned more about what happened as the family grew. There was also a large carrot dangled in front of us was left unresolved.
The book ended quite abruptly, with many loose ends still left unraveled. Unfortunately, it seems that there will not be a follow-up novel to wrap things up.
*Although this is a stand-alone novel, I feel readers would have a better appreciation of the storyline after reading Consequences first.
Ripple : The Prince And The Pauper appeared first in Glamour Anthology and now has been expanded to an unabridged version
Ripple tells the story of Dexter Smithers. He’s as Dominating Alpha as they come. He’s set his sights on young Natalie and just like an innocent Dove in the Hawk’s crosshairs, she is ensnared by him. He goes to great , devious lengths to ambush and pluck her from her luxurious and doubtedly safe , velvet life and makes her his Queen. The Queen only bows in front of her King , but it’s more than that. She kneels and begs and splays open her body and soul for him to spank, punish and caress.
It’s a tough tale of vindictive love , a style Aleatha is a veteran writer of. Her Dexter Smithers sends shivers down our souls
Really dark and really intense. A thorough #AleathaGenre book
4 Bug-Star reads
I love Aleatha Romig.I would like her to write more about Claire, Tony and their children.
Have you ever heard of a cliff hanger??? Well read this book and you will sure find one. I was really expecting more since they called this a “stand alone”
Aleatha at her best. I’m sure there’s more to come. It certainly can’t end like this.
I loved this series.
Enjoyed this read a page turner, awesome, Love how Aleatha brings her characters to life.
