Ice
As president of the Predators’ MC, my men and I are used to preying on the weak and those stupid enough to cross our paths. So why does a straitlaced teacher make me sit up and take notice when I see her for the first time?
The brothers all think she makes me weak, and believe me, weak in their eyes isn’t where I want to be. She wants me to prove she means more to me than the club, and when … club, and when I fail, she thinks she can just walk away. She’s wrong. I’m a Predator, and nothing escapes me.
Grace
As a teacher, I’m supposed to want to educate those who want to learn, right? That’s what I believed until I was told I’d have to teach a class at the prison. I didn’t move to a town labeled as one of the safest places in America only to be faced with a bunch of Predators.
He expects me to trust him despite being the reason I’m trapped in the middle of a prison riot. His club means more to him than I ever will, and if I give him a chance, he will break the fragile peace I have managed to find. It’s not the first time I’ve had to escape a predator.

I have fallen in love with Jamie Begley’s writing. I love the way she does bikers. They are badass, sweet, hot, sensitive, protective, possessive, and did I say badass? The Last Riders will always have my heart, but the Predators are fighting for their place in my heart.
Summary:
There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Predators are the top of the heap in Queen City. They have their hands in a lot of pies, and don’t take sh*t. A lot of that reputation is down to their president, Ice. He’s cold, calculating and not afraid to take advantage of weaknesses. He ensures his position by not showing weakness. So, when an uptight teacher grabs his attention, Ice and his men are understandably worried about where his head might be. But once he has her within his grasp, he can’t let her go. Grace likes her world ordered and controlled. It’s vital to her sanity. She just wants to teach those that want to learn and keep her head down. That wish is blown to smithereens when she’s forced to teach a prison course. It’s just her bad luck that she then finds herself in the middle of a riot and in the sights of the biggest Predator of them all. Ice wants her trust, but he’s all about the club. Grace can’t risk the small amount of peace she’s found. Ice may be good at catching his prey, but Grace is a survivor and she won’t fall victim to a predator again.
I wasn’t sure about Grace at first. She seemed a bit too uptight and fragile for my liking at the start of the book. Really getting to know her, though, she was stronger and braver than anyone ever could have imagined. Her history was heartbreakingly tragic, and after learning of it, I had no trouble understanding why she kept herself and her environment so controlled. Underneath that iron control, though, was a passionate woman. Despite keeping mostly to herself, Grace was caring and loyal, showing that with her friends but especially her family. She was naive and innocent in a lot of things, but I thought she handled Ice and his lifestyle pretty well, only making me wish she stood a bit stronger in one instance. Ice was your typical protective/possessive alpha biker. He was scarily dangerous and not afraid to get his hands dirty. He could also be patient, sweet, thoughtful, and sensitive, but only for Grace. He was a strong and loyal leader. Because he possessed those qualities, I was extremely disappointed in him for one decision and following action that he did. It went against everything good I thought about him, and exposed a weakness I hated. As a couple, I loved Grace and Ice together. I really thought despite their different worlds, that they complimented each other well. Ice’s courtship of Grace was also super sweet and steamy. Overall, this was an entertaining read with a whole new cast of characters to get to know. A few of the more prominent members of the Predators are interesting and I’m looking forward to learning more about them. I wasn’t a big fan of Grace’s mom, though. Jamie Begley is the queen of Biker Romance and I’m here for it. I love that the Predators have ties to The VIP Room series, and I’m sure it won’t be long before The Last Riders make their appearances.
I really liked Grace at times she was shy and timid but when she had the chance she could be really feisty and she definetely tried to be strong at times and she tries to stand up to Ice at times. Grace was hilarious at times and there was a few times where I did actually laugh out loud.
Ice had like two personalities for me during this book the one where he was a hard ass, tough and cold and then he had a really sweet side and when he was showing that side to him he was really lovely.
You can tell from the moment this book starts that Ice and the Predators getting arrested was part of a bigger plan because if you know of the information Jackal got about The Last Riders for King. Then you know that them getting caught that easy just didn’t seem possible and of course I turned out to be right!
Ice’s reaction to Grace is hilarious when she first starts teaching at the Prison and how attracted he actually is. I also love that he tries to hide and it and protect her by telling her to not come back and I do love that he tried to initially warn her.
Guards are assholes. The way they treated Grace at times were just disgusting.
I really like Ice, I mean it’s so weird but he was really nice and sweet to Grace and it melted my heart. Like if you get past the fact he’s slightly a bad guy and is sat in prison through some of this he can be really sweet! I love the fact he always has his brothers’ backs and for the most part they have his back.
Haha oh my god Grace smacking church in the face with a book was hilarious I have not laughed for a while that hard at something that happened in the book and it was funny.

What a SOLID start to The Predators MC Series!
The best thing about this book? Our heroine, Grace. She’s strong, intelligent, stubborn, funny, sweet and she is NO DOORMAT! (Thank the Gods!) Grace can give a wicked tongue lashing when needed and does so in one of my favorite scenes in the book. Just a taste…
” ‘Does it hurt? The thought of me with another man? Can you picture it in your head? My mouth on his d***, him f***king me!’ Grace Taunted. ‘Does it shrivel your soul the way it did mine when Rita threw that woman at me?’ ”
The best part of that tongue lashing is what it brings out in Ice. Surprisingly, he opens up BIG TIME to her; sharing some very deep emotions and events that happened to him. I ate that up!!
She never came across as a nag or a b**** when it came to Ice and the club, even when she totally would’ve been justified in acting like one. She did make some concessions for Ice- the way she dressed around the club members, hanging out more at the clubhouse, accepting most of Ice’s archaic ways- but not any that would make you call her a doormat.
As for our Hero, Ice… He is definitely a more “traditional” MC president. He actually changed a lot throughout the book while still being able to maintain his tough guy, I-don’t-take-no-bullsh*t-from-anyone persona. Ice let love in when he let Grace in and that was something completely new and amazing for him. His “begging” scene with Grace was PURE GOLD!
I admired his ability to be both firm and gentle with Grace. I adored his love/hate relationship with Grace’s dogs (well, he’ll tell you they’re his dogs) and couldn’t help but fall in lust with the piercing(s). Their sex scenes were HOT!
BUT… we have to talk about what I refer to as “the incident”. Not Ice’s shining moment of the book. At. All. I wish I could erase it from mine and Grace’s heads. I realize Ice thought he had to prove himself because he didn’t want to seem weak to his men but I just can’t back the b**** of a way he chose to do it. I tried because of what happened to him in prison but it was just not right or fair to Grace. I felt there were other ways to prove it and was very happy when showed them that later on.
What’s worse than the actual incident is the fact that Grace found out about it from that skank of a wh***, Rita. I would’ve thrown that flippin’ cake in her face. Forget letting the Predators enjoy it. And I REALLY hate that she didn’t find out about it until after they became involved sexually.
The only positive that I can pull out of that incident (I know, it almost kills me to say something positive came out of it) is how he handled the two guys and Rita’s punishments. The way he did it was so incredibly boss! It was how things should be handled! The Last Riders (another big series from Jamie Begley) should be taking notes on that!!
I thought the ending felt a bit rushed. I don’t think what happened in the epilogue needed to take place in this book but I wasn’t necessarily disappointed that it did. I highly recommend this series to all MC book fans!
SIDE NOTE: Thank you so much for the wonderful Jackal/Penni moments! Their story is going to be INTENSE!!
Loved it! I’ve read every book that I’ve bought of Jamie Begley’s more than once. Love this author’s writing style and how she crossovers the characters from different series. Storyline was entertaining and steamy with some awesome scenes. Could not put it down. Loved that Grace wasn’t a weakling or pushover. Good Lord, Ice is one hot badass biker but shows a gentler side to Grace. Loved the chemistry and interaction between them. I would recommend.
Riot by Jamie Begley is the first book in the Predators MC series.
It started off really strong and I thought I was really going to enjoy it and I did enjoy it but I just was not invested in the book after about 40%. I did finish it and looked to see what book was next and I might come back to the series but it did not just suck me in…I was just waiting for more to happen since the beginning was so super action packed.
Some books are just like that… It is a good story, It is worth a read if you like MC
SOLID 3 stars!!
Texas hugs and Happy Reading!!
