From Audrey Carlan, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Calendar Girl series.Rio de Janeiro, Brazil: where torrid temperatures can ignite explosive family secrets. There’s nothing I won’t do to protect Skyler, the team, and my family. After the recent attempt on our lives, escaping to Rio to enjoy the hot sands of Copacabana Beach sounds like a little piece of heaven and a much-needed … little piece of heaven and a much-needed break from the nightmare back in Boston.
When my brother’s Brazilian mate solicits my help to weed out a shadowy embezzler slowly bleeding his business dry, I can’t say no. However, the more we dig into the issue, the more secrets come to the surface. Hidden agendas, grudges, and recriminations all seem par for the course in sunny Rio de Janeiro. The worst of it? The enemy we have at home appears to have come out of hiding and continues to threaten what I hold most dear.
Once again I’m in a killer’s sights, but more than that, the people I love back home are left vulnerable.

In this 11th installment of International guy things unravel and we get answers to so many questions. Exceptional writing and character building, as always with any of Audrey Carlan’s books, had me on edge and finishing this book within 2.5 hours in one sitting. If you’ve been following International Guy, Rio is a definite must read to find out who, how and WHY was targeting Parker and Sky.
Another great book in the IG series. We find out who is behind the stalking and learn more about Parker’s brother. I loved that we see more of Parker and Sklyar’s relationship as it grows and as they have to deal with the harsh realities. Can’t wait for the final book!
And the twists and turns keep coming at us in Rio. This book had so much going on it. I kept putting my kindle down bc I was afraid to see what would happen next, just to pick it up 10 seconds later so that I could find out what was going on.
Once again, I love how Audrey Carlan doesn’t shy away from issues even if they involve the side characters. She tackles the issues and controversies head on, unapologetically, yet with heart.
For me this installment really focused on the importance of family in our lives. Whether it is the one you are born to or the family you choose.
On to the last book…
In Rio, Audrey Carlan finally answers our questions as to who has been stalking my favorite couple, but she does so in a way that blows my mind! This book doesn’t just tell you who it is, it takes you to Rio, a beautiful country where Park and Sky experience beauty, love, joy, pain, sorrow, outrage, sheer disbelief, shock, pride, awe, heart-stopping panic, fear, devastation, and finally a chance to live free.
What an amazing roller coaster!! This installment is unlike the others in so many ways. Park and Roy are not working a contracted case, Park and Sky are not just visiting another country. I am so in love with this family of characters that my heart beats so fast when they’re in danger, it stops when something bad happens, it bleeds when they’re hurting! And this stalker/bomber/arsonist…I admit to wanting the tides turned on them. But Audrey is too nice. LOL. I would LOVE 5 minutes in a windowless, soundproof room with that person. Seriously. After all that person did to Sky and Park and family?! Grrrr!!!!!
Audrey Carlan, I know the series isn’t finished yet, but wowza!! You blew my ever-loving mind with Rio!!
Audrey Carlan blew me away with this installment. You will get your fill of action, suspense, drama, heartache, pain and love. I want to go to Rio because Audrey described it so beautifully and some of the food and fun are right up my alley.
The twists and turns were crazy town and so many questions got answered. My emotions were so raw and I was holding my breath and screaming out loud. I’m not gonna lie I may even have hoped that AC kill a certain character but you will have to read for yourself and find out who and if she did. The love that this tight knit group of people have for each other is out of this world. They are fiercely loyal and protective and I adore them for it. I want to put Sky and Dennis in bubble shields so they feel no pain or heartache and only love. Audrey Carlan this installment is an exceptional bombshell of epic proportions and couldn’t have been told better by anyone else.
Dear goodness gracious me! This installment had me on such a tumultuous ride I wasn’t sure I would come out alive and in one piece!
I laughed, cried and felt so much throughout this truly amazing book that I felt a part of it!
I love how the authors words translate into feels so much so you wish you could be in there to help the characters and hug them when needed!
What it all comes down to though is true love and strength of family!! And this book has it in spades, a roller coaster of sorts!
Rio picks up where Madrid ended and needless to say the proverbial poo will hit the fan! Sky and Parker need to get away and what better place than Rio to help a company with financial issues! We learn so much about Parkers brother and his partner and there are some elements that get rather heated!
I loved so much about this book I was bursting at the seams and I have to say I had a gut feeling and I was right…i did pat myself on the back!! Haha!
In any case! International Guy series is amazing and theres only 1 story left! A definite must read!
Wow Rio takes on a roller coaster ride of emotion and events. Trying to escape the stalker who is threatening them Parker and Skyler head to Rio to spend time with Paul’s significant other. While they are in Rio Denny enlists them to look into some mysterious accounts he has found in his business. Since the stalker can’t find them is their family fair game?
This installment has so much happening and will devastate you. I have loved this series but this might be best yet. I love that Paul gets to play a bigger and we get to fall in love with him too. Can’t wait for the final installment.
Incredible, Amazing and did not see that one coming…in the 11th edition of International Guy Parker and Skye escape to Rio while they hunt for who is threatening the life of Parker and Skye. While in Rio another tragic accident happens and they learn who is behind all of this. It is so hard to even put this book down.
Rio is the penultimate book in the International Guy series and things with the stalker have escalated to a homicidal degree. After the tragic events that happened after their return from Madrid, Parker and Skylar are hiding out in Rio with Parker’s brother Paul, a special forces operative and his partner Denny. Also along for the ride is fellow team member Royce, primarily to handle a problem with suspected embezzlement Denny is having in his family-run import business. When the stalker can’t find SkyPark though, will they turn their attentions to someone maybe closer to home?
I loved this book. The action doesn’t let up from the first page and the tension is palpable. Every time they think they have discovered the identity of who the stalker is, their suspicions are thwarted. I also loved the ‘travelogue’ of Brazil – not a place I’ve ever had any inclination to visit until I read this author’s vivid descriptions of the sights. I have to say though that I have never disliked fictional characters as much as I do Denny’s family. They truly are horrible people. Dump him Paul – he’s really not good enough for you
This book is such an emotional read from the start. The unknown, promises, betrayal, hope…some humor and good steaminess sprinkled in.
“You feel like heaven raining down on my skin…I want to drown in you, taste your soul…”
This book will test your faith on moving on after the ultimate betrayal. Questions the core of your existence. Your judgement. Trust. Faith in others.
“When you take the hand of the person you’re meant to be with, the person you love with your entire being, that person becomes your family.”

In Rio, the focus is a mix of getting away from the chaos, and Parker’s brother’s relationship and his partner’s business. Then it’s back to crazy. Things come to a head and it’s super intense and upsetting. Like a mix of heart pounding and tear inducing. Okay, I’m so ready for all these characters to have some peace and calm.
There were things I liked about this book and others I didn’t. I really liked how Ms. Carlan took me to Rio with her vivid descriptions and fascinating locations. That was brilliant. However there were some things in this book that were just implausible, and others that were inconsistent with the characters. At any rate, this book is very eventful and important to the series.
