I’d like to thank Harlequin and NetGalley for the opportunity to read the latest in Brenda Novak’s Silver Springs series, Right Where We Belong.
As the book opens we are immediately drawn into the life of a young mother, Savannah Gray, who has just learned that not only has her husband cheated on her, he’s a serial rapist.
She packs up her life and takes her two young children home to the farmhouse she’d grown up in, but even that is not the same. It’s been left empty for years and is in serious disrepair. Left with no more options, she decides to stay with the help of her neighbor, a handsome musician she likes but is too wary to trust.
Gavin Turner has had his own demons, so he understands the instinct to flee. When he meets Savannah and her children, he wants to help and soon finds himself falling for the beautiful young woman, but has an ex-girlfriend who says she’s pregnant and a new boyfriend who is furious. Heather is determined to get Gavin back and is willing to go to extraordinary lengths to make that happen.
Can two people with so much baggage have a chance at a future together? You’ll have to read the book to find out!
I give Right Where We Belong 5 lovely kisses
(4.25 stars)
This was by far my favorite installment so far. I was immediately immersed in the story and felt immediately connected with both Savanna and Gavin. RWWB deals with some heavier issues than the previous books and really gave it a notch above the rest.
Book four in the Silver Springs series, and so far, the final book. I’m hopeful that the series doesn’t end here! Silver Springs and New Horizons Ranch is one of those book places that keep you coming back to check up on all of your “friends” from time to time.
Right Where We Belong is the story of Gavin and Savanna; Gavin is a fixer, Savanna is broken. She is beginning the road to recovery from a broken marriage. A mediocre marriage at best, but a marriage none the less. Her husband has been accused and arrested for attacking three women. Savanna is now the town pariah. She needs a change, for herself and her children, in order to move ahead with her life. She’s filed for divorce and is awaiting the final paperwork to come through. But, either way, her marriage is over. She needs to escape.
Gavin is restless. He’s just bought a house outside Silver Springs, but he’s really looking to make a move. He needs to go to Nashville if he’s ever going to get anywhere with his music. The trouble is, he’s not sure now is the time to leave New Horizons and his family. Then, late one night, he hears someone driving down his lane. Odd. There’s only one other house out there and it’s been vacant, and rundown, for years. The moving truck is moving pretty fast and doesn’t know the bridge is out. He’s got to stop it….
Right Where We Belong is a romantic suspense that has several plotlines going on. There’s Savanna and trying to prove what her husband has done, Gavin and his ex’s machinations, and then Savanna and Gavin’s growing attraction. Once again, Brenda Novak weaves these plotlines seamlessly together to come up with an engaging and entertaining read.
Ok, ok this is my second favorite book in the series (well tied for #1). Loved this book, just when you thought her creepy husband would maybe get away with things….. I also agree to the thing with spiders, I shiver even thinking about them. (no spiders were hurt in the reading of this book).
Right Where We Belong (Silver Springs, #4) was a great read by Brenda Novak. Savanna is looking to rebuild her life and is in need of a do over. She thought she had the perfect life, until her husband was arrested for attacking three women. She moves to Silver Springs with her two children to the farmhouse she was born in. It definitely needs some fixing up. Gavin knows how Savanna must feel in starting over. He ends up helping Savanna fix up their farmhouse while they both try fighting their attraction to each other. I really loved reading Savanna and Gavin’s story and how they grew closer together as Savanna starts over. I can’t wait to read more by Brenda Novak.
This is the fourth book in the Silver Springs series. I have been reading the books in order (after I read the 6th book first). I think this is the most emotional story of the series. The story focuses on Savanna and her children. She finds out that her husband is not the man she thought he was. Their relationship was not the best, but it was “okay”. Savanna stayed in the marriage since she made a commitment and wanted a stable family for her children. When she finds out that her husband has hidden his true character from her and is a violent man, she leaves the state they lived in with hopes of a new, safe life for herself and her children.
That is the best decision she has made in years. She immediately finds a helpful neighbor, Gavin, who is supportive and much more. The story flows really well and all the pieces of the puzzle of her soon to be ex-husband’s life is revealed.
The characters are developed so well, they seem like real people to me. I adored Savanna, her children & Gavin and hoped for a bright and beautiful future for them. I had the opposite feelings for Gavin. I despise him so much and was hoping for the every worse outcome.
This is a great addition to the series and I have already started book 5 and am totally enjoying it. I like that after this emotionally draining book, the next in the series is a lighter topic.
Great book
I loved reading Savanna and Gavin’s love story. The added suspense of what was going on with Savanna’s ex-husband added an exciting element to the story. I once again enjoyed my visit to Silver Springs.
I checked this ebook out of the library and my honest review is my own and not influenced in any way.
Gavin Turner is one of New Horizon’s boys that grew up and stayed on to work there. He also has a voice that some feel should take him to Nashville. Savannah Gray is leaving a bad situation. Her children must come first. From the moment Gavin met her, his world turn on its axis. Savannah is swearing off men. Yet these two keep getting thrown together. Are they willing to get past all their problems or will they walk away? You will find this book hard to put down. You will feel like punching a character or two also. I just loved this book.
This is an amazing book about betrayal, human relationships, and finding personal peace. The characters are working through traumatic past relationships. The hero’s past childhood. The heroines dramatic marriage. Her accused husband jailed on multiple counts of rape. His ex girlfriend trying to get him back by lying to get what she wants. If they can get past the issues at hand maybe they will find they’re own personal peace.
I just finished this book. WOW!
I was having a bit of anxiety getting closer and closer to the end of the book. I mean there weren’t very many pages left and I was waiting for the happy ending. LOL I was so nervous. This book had me on the edge of my seat. I was stressed and excited. I LOVED this book. This is my favorite out of the series!
3.5 stars
Right Where We Belong is a light contemporary romance, and kept me engaged until the end. After Savanna’s husband gets arrested, she decides to take refuge in Silver Spring. There her parents left her an old house that needs major renovations. She wants to start over with her two children and decides that Silver Springs fits the bill. When she arrives she meets her only neighbor, Gavin. I really loved how Gavin and Savanna met, and how their relationship developed. Gavin was such a nice guy that loves to help out people. He is a great support to Savanna, and they both feel a strong attraction to each other. Savanna, is hesitant because she just got out of her marriage and doesn’t feel ready for a new relationship. And when Gavin is hit with a news, that can change his life, he decides to put some distance between Savanna and him.
This book was a nice contemporary romance, however I didn’t feel a strong connection to the characters. They had great chemistry together, and I believed in that. However, things developed a bit fast in my opinion. This made it harder for me to fully connect. There was some suspense added to the story, which I enjoyed. But after that was done, the story was done, and it left me wanting more. The epilogue wasn’t enough to complete the story for me.
Savannah’s life is horrible in the aftermath of her husband’s arrest. She doesn’t feel like she can even leave her house because of the way she’s viewed by her neighbors – even though she didn’t even know that her husband was doing horrible things she’s been painted by his actions anyway. So she decides to move … but she can’t leave her life completely behind. She has to deal with contact from both her husband and his mother trying to get her to help him. And the cops are convinced that she can help them. It’s stressful and intense and gets even more so when new information comes to light. Throw in an undeniable attraction to her neighbor and there’s a lot on her plate.
Gavin has complications of his own (which I won’t get into because it’s kind of a spoiler) but it is made even more difficult by the growing attraction to his neighbor. He does what he can to help support her as she deals with her own troubles, not just with her family but with the falling down farmhouse she’s inherited. Time spent together might not make things easier but it definitely shows both of them that their feelings aren’t going to go away.
I saw in another review where someone mentioned that it seemed like the main romance suffered a bit with the complications of other relationships for the two main characters and I kinda have to agree. While the story is very well written (I wouldn’t expect less from Novak) and the suspense element with Savanna’s husband is definitely gripping, there wasn’t as much time spent with the two main characters together as I expected. There is a HEA (as you’d expect), detailed characters, and a page-turner of a story … I just have a little trouble categorizing it as a true romance (it’s more of a woman’s fiction piece) so keep that in mind when you make your reading choices 🙂

I love reading Brenda Novak’s books. I recommend this book
Great story! This was a wonderful story about starting over to rebuild your life. And finding love when you least expect it. This story of Savanna and Gavin was hard to put down. Even with the twist of Savanna’s ex being in jail for some heinous crimes against other women. I really enjoy Silver Springs and its people. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
I love this book
