There’s a thin line between love and hate . . . and it cuts right through the middle of their office.
Bad boys run right over good girls like Georgina Keller, but after a confidence-shattering breakup, she’s determined not to let anyone at her new workplace push her around. Especially not the brooding creative director, a “bad boy of publishing” who’s made it clear she’s enemy #1.
Sebastian Quinn’s taste for fast cars, late nights, and beautiful women may have gotten him to the top of a leading New York magazine, but the reputation that made him is suddenly threatening to end his career. And even though everyone says pretty, pint-sized Georgina is there to help, he can’t help thinking she’s hoping to land the final blow–and maybe even his job.
Georgina can help Modern Man shed its bad reputation, but in order to do that, she’ll have to start at the top–and no amount of rakish charm or inconvenient attraction will distract her.

I loved this story so much. It felt so real while I was reading it I could feel Georgina and Sebastian coming off the pages as I read.
Georgina is a strong and smart woman who has risen to the top at her job. Her love life may be falling apart but her career is taking off. So when she is offered this job as a consultant to help out in a failing company she jumps at the chance to help this company build back up. But when she starts at the company she realizes why the company is failing and the reason is the owner and his attitude about his magazine and staff.
Sebastian is a bad boy that is spoiled and used to getting what he wants in and out of the boardroom and bedroom. He is used to fast cars, and women on his arm but one day that all comes crashing down and has a devastating affect on him. So much so he is letting his company go down and he is not trying to do anything about it until Georgina comes in and forces him to take a serious look at his life and his business that he built up.
Can these two who are broken come together? Or will they stay in a strictly business relationship? Will the magazine be revived or will it fail?
If you think, like l did, that Sebastian is your typical wealthy bad boy then you would be mistaken. There is more substance to him. Which I found refreshing. I liked Georgina. She is not some weak push over that falls at Sebastian’s feet. I enjoyed learning what makes each of them tick. I enjoyed their story and I think everyone else will too!

Right Where I Want You by Jessica Hawkins was a highly entertaining and hilarious enemies-to-lovers romance office romance that will have you wholeheartedly swooning from beginning to end! I absolutely adored the witty banter between Sebastian and Georgina…seriously I couldn’t get enough of these two. Their chemistry was off the charts and filled with some oh so good sexy times that had me fanning myself…
This was EVERYTHING I would expect in a Jessica Hawkins original story. She gave her readers that angst they love while also bringing that emotion they crave. Her stories always capture my undivided attention and I can’t help but fall more in love with her writing with each new release. Her storytelling is simply magical and beautifully written every time. Readers will certainly enjoy this extraordinary enemies-to-lovers romance. Make sure to go and one-click it right now and discover just how thin that line between hate and love really is!
A great office romance.
This is a cute little read. The characters Georgia and Sebastian are very loveable. She’s smart and sexy and he’s a hot bad boy. Even the secondary characters are fun. I absolutely loved Justin.
This isn’t really a typical office romance. George is brought in to help a company find out what they are doing wrong, she’s kinda a fixer. What she ends up finding is way more than she thought. I could read about Sebastian all day, he’s one of those characters you immediately love and want to know more about.
Check it out, I think you’ll enjoy it.

Georgina and Sebastian are the kinda couple who get off on the wrong foot with each other, more so because Sebastian isn’t taking to kindly to a woman trying to save the company he works for and his reputation. Because of this it makes the tension and chemistry explode when they finally give in to one another. If there is one thing I love in a book it’s angry and lustful sex!
Sebastian has the persona of that alluring playboy where the woman tend to drop at his feet. His job is his everything so when Georgina comes along it creates an internal war with himself because he can’t thaw towards the woman who he doesn’t want in his working life but she has that magnetic aura that wants to lure him to the bedroom instead. Can these two just give in and get it together already?
I always look forward to everything Jessica Hawkins produces, one of the traits to a successful book is the passion that the author puts in and she does that in abundance with everything she writes and this one was no different. I will say it’s an extremely slow burn but it doesn’t take long to get invested in the story, so it won’t take anything away from the enjoyment. Overall a fantastic enemies to lovers book with some laugh out loud moments that will have you championing this couple right to the very end. I would love to see a continuation of this book with a story on the side characters.
This book was a slow burn for me. At first, I wasn’t connecting with either of the two main characters. Sebastian, a NYC magazine editor, went back and forth between being a gentleman and being sexist pig. Georgina, a publishing consultant, wasn’t much better. She waffled between being assertive in the workplace and a doormat everywhere else. I also didn’t care much for the plot at first. Sebastian’s magazine, Modern Man, is losing followers and Georgina is brought in as a consultant to get things back on track.
I’m glad I stayed with it. About halfway through I started to better connect with the characters. There was good character development and a fun set of secondary characters. It was a steamy read and just enough angst to keep it interesting without going to far.
Georgina Keller is a PR specialist living in New York, she goes in and helps companies get back on their feet after a bad publicity stunt. She is passionate about her job and what she does to help others. She is selfless and caring, she gives her all in her friendships and relationships. She’s a loyal friend and I loved her and Luciano’s relationship, he was the yin to her yang.
Sebastian Quinn is the creative director for Modern Man, he has worked his way up to the top and made the magazine what it is today. He calls it his life’s work. He has put his everything into the magazine. Until he hits a rough patch, then ends up being exploited on top of that and suddenly everything he has always worked for is starting to crumble. He is known as a playboy, with swagger and an envious lifestyle. He has always used that to his advantage but now its being used against him. His boss hires Georgina to fix the situation and help Modern Man turn things around, and get their reader base back.
Georgina knows that in order to be able to do her job at Modern Man she has to earn the men that will be on her team’s respect. She knows that she needs to find a common ground between them and her. She also knows that Sebastian is going to be the one with the most resistance to her so she knows she needs to get in his good graces in order to get the rest of the guys on the team on her side.
I love the push and pull of the two characters and how they coincide with each other. Sebastian was seriously swoon worthy! I loved him from the start. He was just so much more than I expected, I loved seeing his POV on things, he is such a strong and complex character. I really appreciated the fact that he wasn’t a typical alpha character, he had so much more depth.
Georgina was infuriating and admirable, I enjoyed seeing how much she grew throughout this book. Her backstory explained it all but I still just wanted to shake her at times, but yet I understood her wholeheartedly.
And can we just talk about the fact that she has a GREAT DANE?! I think that made me love this book even more, I have 3 and they are just the highlight of my day so I really felt a connection to Georgina because I knew exactly how she felt going home to Bruno everyday, she was so selfless to take him in and care for him the way she did. Oh and let’s not forget seeing Sebastian interact with Bruno.. I mean come on I didn’t think I could swoon any harder and then this, I had freaking hearts in my eyes after that. I went so gaga over him I was like a teenager who had gotten front row seats to her favorite boy band, it was almost embarrassing!
Side Note: I loved Justin and Sebastian’s relationship and their banter as well, they were true friends that just made you laugh. Justin was the perfect “sidekick” so to speak and I loved his part in this whole story. Can we please have a story on him? I seriously need more of him!
Needless to say this book is worth the read, its a perfect enemies to lovers romance read and it caught me off guard and hits me like the bus that hit Regina in Mean Girls, I never saw it coming and didn’t have a chance to brace myself for the fall.
4.5 Stars
Georgina Keller assumes the name George during her nine to five, determined not to let anyone take advantage of her good girl ways at work. There she wants to be seen as in control and in charge, especially in her new position at Modern Man. Sebastian Quinn lets the headlines speak for him; party guy, ladies man, and daredevil are just a few things they say about the handsome Creative Director at Modern Man. The magazines in a downward spiral though and Georgina is brought in to repair the reputation that Sebastian has created for it. The two clash from the very first moment and while attraction simmers between them neither wants to let the other win.
“I’d come to Newton that weekend certain Georgina hated me. Now I’d gone and missed my shot with her. Did I even want a shot?”
It is probably no surprise to anyone that I loved Right Where I Want You. I am a self-proclaimed super fan of Jessica Hawkins and I buy anything she releases, so of course I was stoked for this book. Plus, it offered us a contemporary romance, one not driven by angst, but more so by chemistry. While the fan-girl in me loved this book automatically, I made sure to leave her behind for this review.
Right Where I Want You thrusts readers immediately into the fast-paced, business-driven New York City streets. There’s snippy business women, handsome men in suits, and there’s Georgina acting like a bit of a pushover, at least until we see her take charge in the conference room. Sebastian too gives off different vibes, showing a sweeter side to himself until we see him saunter down the office halls. While I didn’t quite connect with Georgina’s alternate personalities, I loved Sebastian, and I extra loved their insane chemistry. Talk about office romance done right! And if you love enemies-to-lovers tropes, we get that too. Sebastian knows his job is on the line and he certainly doesn’t want to give it up to a girl who goes by George, but some of the things Georgina wants to see done make sense and the rest he’s forgotten due to staring at her. As they put the bad behind them to give love a chance they discover that sometimes there is some truth to first impressions.
“Finally, I had exactly what I needed to take her out. Now I just had to ignore the disturbing thought that I might rather ask her out.”
Jessica Hawkins takes us on a journey of self discovery with hilarious and heartwarming moments that find the characters unable to deny their attraction to one another. Right Where I Want You was the perfect book for me to end 2018 with and if you haven’t read it yet, definitely put it on your January 2019 lineup. It’s a must read, full of sweet, funny, and sexy moments that’ll have you entertained until the very last page.
This is one amazing hate to love romance! Sebastian is living a amazing life on the outside but inside he’s completely empty. Georgina is sweet spitfire even though she herself is empty inside from a ex. Two people that hate each other but can’t stop thinking about each other either. I laughed at times and swooned and even shed a tear at the ending. Definitely one of my favorites hate to love romances ever! 5/5 stars
I thought I was over office romances. I have read these types of books time and time again and feel like they are slowly blending into one another. But then Jessica Hawkins writes an office romance. One with all the feels. One with interesting and relatable characters that have their own flaws and own them. One where the thin line between love and hate disintegrates at a realistic pace. And all my thoughts about not wanting any more offices romances has dissolved. Jessica Hawkins has a knack for building characters that readers can feel connected to. She writes story lines that are engaging and uses setting that are easy to imagine being a part of. All of this is included in this story and I praise her for the way she writes these stories making her readers feel as if they are a part of the story.
This one my friends is one you don’t want to miss. It’s a slow burn, one that doesn’t happen instantly and is charged with passion. I enjoyed this one from beginning to end and didn’t want to stop and take a breath between pages. I really liked it and I know many readers are going to feel the same.
Like always, Hawkins has outdone herself! This book was seductive, the witty banter was everything, and that sexual tension though.
My review: (honestly would give more of I could)
OMG this book couldn’t get any better! I am a lover of Jessica Hawkins but this book was a price of art! Not only will Sebastian and George have you laughing your butt off, it will also give you the warm tingly butterflies in your belly. Sebastian is a creative director for a magazine, Georgina AKA George is consulted to help redirect the magazine. They’re fun banter is unlike any other I have ever read. I guarantee you love this book and the enemies to lover’s trope! Go one click today and let me know how you love it!
I don’t know why but there was just something about this business enemies to lovers story that ended up being exactly what I was in the mood for. There was so much chemistry with Sebastian and Georgina’s verbal sparring that I found myself anxiously awaiting for them to cross that line. I also loved that deep down they were both good and genuine people. They both had trust issues to work through. I was just sucked in by their feisty banter and office politics and it made it addictive to read. A nice book for my Christmas break.
This book is perfection..the tension, the banter and the healing that happens in this book is just really, really well written. Sebastian and Georgina are just amazing together. They might not have had the best meet cute but given the circumstances, it was what was expected. These two have some hurdles to jump. Sebastian,is reeling from grief and the anniversary of the death. He hasn’t came to terms with it. He is also the master at his job but he gets a rude awakening when Georgina comes into his work place. This is like a whole bunch of men who never grew up and really have no need for it but make a really good magazine. Things are changing though. Georgina, is complex character. She has two personas. One is George. She is a take charge, no nonsense business woman. She comes in takes charge and turns the business around. Her other one is obviously Georgina. She has been put down mentally and her self confidence is low. She knows she needs to speak out but chooses not to. With Sebastian and the guys, she is put out of her comfort zone and given challenges to accomplish. She grows as a person and eventually comes out of her shell. She also has this ability to push Sebastian to see things a little different. He needs to come to terms on something and heal. She helps him do that. This was such a fun book to read and I found myself falling in love with these characters! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is questioning whether or not to read it or not.
Right Where I Want You by Jessica Hawkins is an enemies-to-lovers romance where the sparks fly and the banter between the main characters is captivating. Georgina Keller is recovering from a bad breakup. Nonetheless she is smart, sassy and dedicated to her job. No one pushes her around.
Sebastian Quinn has made his magazine what it is today. His reputation may precede him, and yet he firmly believes he has no need for Georgina. He enjoys his life just as it is, however, his reputation is coming back to haunt him. Enter Georgina to help both his magazine and his reputation. But Sebastian has no plans to make her job easier. Sebastian was cocky, determined and so very charming. Even so, their chemistry and attraction is hard to deny. He pushes her, but she pushes right back.
Right Where I Want You by Jessica Hawkins was a lighter read that was a sweet and sexy slow burn romance. I loved the main and secondary characters so much and consumed the story. It’s been a minute since I read a book by this author, but this one reminded why I love reading what she writes.
Read and reviewed for Reviews From The Heart.
Happy reading!
I love Jessica Hawkins, she is by far one of my favorite authors out there, but for some reason I thought Right Where I Want You was just too long and it took me quite some time to actually get into the book. I couldn’t seem to find that spark that ignited that want in me to fall in love with these characters. I can’t really say they were great because I just didn’t feel it.
Georgina was assigned to shape up the men’s magazine where Sebastian worked and was head of the department. And from the start they had a rocky relationship. He assumed she was there to take his job and he just couldn’t bring himself to accept her and her ideas to shape up the advertising of the magazine.
When things started to go 180 on them and all of a sudden they ended up going from enemies to friends, that’s when I think the book took off on a better note for me. It took a long time for this to happen but I held in and continued on the journey of Georgina and Sebastian. I just had to know how it was going to end and I have to say I am happy with that ending.
I have to say overall I give this book 3 stars because it just wasn’t my best read from this author.
I really struggled with this book, in so many ways. It is classified as a romantic comedy and a contemporary romance, and I will go with the latter. There may have been some funny lines, but it was definitely no rom-com. I have seen others consider it a slow burn romance, but for me unfortunately it was just slow. As this is my first read by this author, I’m not sure if it is her style or just this particular novel, but I wasn’t a fan of all the self asked questions either.
The story in it self was sweet, an office love with cute dogs. He was an editor of a Men’s magazine who was in a slump due to personal reasons. She was the person hired to solve the problems and get the mag back up in the ratings. I found some of it confusing with them both jumping back and forth with their actions and feelings. There is a thin line between love and hate, but also between weak and arrogant. They were both bordering on that line a few times in my opinion. I’m sad to say that this book just didn’t do it for me but if you’re a fan of this author, you may well enjoy it.
First time reading this author, but it certainly won’t be the last. I LOVED this book.
I’m a bit embarrassed to say this is my first book by Jessica Hawkins. Honestly, I do own others, but haven’t spent the time to read them. That is definitely changing after reading Right Where I Want You. Sebastian and Georgina are witty, passionate, smart, and funny characters. Their chemistry is dynamite from their first meet cute.
So much of this book sets it apart from every other office romance and enemies to lovers trope. Mostly it’s the writing. I was struck with the depth of storytelling outside from establishing the romance. Building these layered characters into truly lovable and relatable people, to the point where I was leaking tears (no I’m not crying, you’re crying) and details that gripped my heart. Developing the slow burn into a real love didn’t test my patience but made me cheer for their HEA. Sebastian and Georgina are truly the perfect match. I just LOVED them together.
Jessica Hawkins has stolen my heart with this book. There’s so many memorable moments in this story that my heart is bursting!! I can’t wait to read more from JH.
I think I chose the perfect Jessica Hawkins book as my introduction to this author. The blurb caught my attention immediately and the author really needed no introduction, I’ve just not read any of her books before. I was pleasantly pleased that I read this one.
I love the taboo that comes with office fraternizing and the sexual tension of enemies to lovers. Jessica has delivered both with Right Where I Want You. I’m not sure Sebastian and Georgina were enemies, they weren’t even sure, but they did have to consider each other the enemy if they were going to come out on top in the war of the magazine ratings.
There is a lot of slow burn going on in this book but that is exactly what this couple needed to grow their relationship and shed their public persona’s. Each of these characters hides their true self and their insecurities so well. Opening themselves up to each other was cathartic for them both and helped endear them to my heart.
Jessica has even ventured outside the boardroom and shown us the world Sebastian and Georgina live in. Any guy could take tips and GoodAdvice from Sebastians all-day, dog themed, date. That is the stuff romance is made of and relationships or born out of.
When the first kiss finally arrives, it’s nothing but perfect and the steam just gets better from there. I found the book may have been a bit long but I can’t think of any part I would have chosen to leave out.
This review wouldn’t be complete without a shout out and honorable mention for the side characters. Best friends to Seb and George are Luciano and Justin. In all their craziness, they are first and foremost ready to stand by their friends and ensure their happiness. We should all be so lucky as to have a friend like them.
I’m definitely set to read more from this author, even though I’ve been warned this book was sweeter and less angsty than her usual books. She made me smile and my heart sing. When I’m ready to throw in some heart wrenching, I’ll look her up again.
