There’s a thin line between love and hate . . . and it cuts right through the middle of their office.
Bad boys run right over good girls like Georgina Keller, but after a confidence-shattering breakup, she’s determined not to let anyone at her new workplace push her around. Especially not the brooding creative director, a “bad boy of publishing” who’s made it clear she’s enemy #1.
Sebastian Quinn’s taste for fast cars, late nights, and beautiful women may have gotten him to the top of a leading New York magazine, but the reputation that made him is suddenly threatening to end his career. And even though everyone says pretty, pint-sized Georgina is there to help, he can’t help thinking she’s hoping to land the final blow–and maybe even his job.
Georgina can help Modern Man shed its bad reputation, but in order to do that, she’ll have to start at the top–and no amount of rakish charm or inconvenient attraction will distract her.

Audio Review:
Right Where I Want You is a tantalizing enemies to lovers office romance. A mixture of sweet and sassy moments, a sliver of angst and explosive chemistry. Supporting character’s are wonderful. The banter between Georgia and Sebastian is witty and fun. The pups Bruno and Opal were a big hit and brought more to their love story. Okay, truth is Bruno stole the show. The seet epilogue was the cherry on the top.
Andy Arndt, Sebastian York dual naration was smooth perfection. I loved Andi Arndt’s performance of Georgia. She really brought out the character’s personality. Sebastian’s deep gravelly baritone was perfect portrayal of Sebastian.
Entertaining listen.
This was the first book (audio) of Jessica Hawkins that I have read. This is an enemies to lovers as Georgina is hired as a consultant to fix the magazine that Sebastian is in charge of. Georgina is trying to build back her confidence after her ex belittled her and Sebastian is in the process of re-evaluating his life. This is a very good story of how 2 people can help each other through the difficult time. Definitely worth the read.
The banter got me! They are so sassy and snarky. I loved both of these characters, especially the dogs! 🙂
Bad boys? They run right over good girls like Georgina Keller. But after a confidence-shattering breakup, she’s determined not to let anyone at her new workplace push her around—least of all the brooding creative director, a “bad boy of publishing” who’s made it clear she’s enemy #1.
I liked this book it was a very sweet romance, the relationship between the characters was slow, sweet and hot and their love for Bruno her dog was cute. The story line was predictable and well done before but still an engaging one. I had this on audiobook and the biggest draw for me was the narration by the brilliant duo Andi Arndt and Sebastian York who can always bring a book to life.
I loved this book. It had two of my fave tropes (enemy to lovers and office romance). There were parts of this story that had me laughing out loud and other parts that had me with a knot on my throat holding back tears. Both the hero and heroin have deeper issues than what you see in the surface. Sebastian has a womanizing reputation that follows him around but he is caring and humble. He always felt he had this persona he had to pretend to be, but he is nothing like that. On top of dealing with an expose and the possibility of loosing his job, he is still dealing with the death of his mother.
Georgina is such a funny, kick ass character, but her confidence took a hit during the past years as she allowed a relationship to dictate her worth as a person but more importantly as a woman. In her personal life, she allows others to take advantage of her kindness, but in the work place she kicks ass. She is smart, determined and knows her shit. The thing is, she has an alter ego “George” which allows her to feel the confidence she does in her profession.
Sebastian and Georgina loved to hate each other while looking out for one another. I loved them separately and even more together. This book will definitely be a re-read for me. I also purchased the audible version so I can listen to it. (l
First l want to shout a big thank you to Jessica Hawkins for gifting me this audible book.
I will always love Lake and Manning, The Something in The Way Series will always have a special place in my heart.
However Georgina Keller in her brave way of moving into a Mans magazine straightening it out and standing up to Sebastian Quinn, when she doesn’t feel that brave having been verbally abused by her ex. Sebastian Quinn feeling entitled for making Modern Man the magazine it had become, then having to take a backseat to Georgina. He being willing to leave it all behind for her, her being willing to walk away after being offered the job of a lifetime for him. Then again Sebastian facing the demon he created in his own mind and following her for a HEA. Georgina and Sebastian are running a close second behind Lake and Manning all four lost souls who find there ways together.
The narrators Andi Arndt and Sebastian York fit the characters perfectly.
I went into this book with the notion that I would be somewhat disappointed with this being another office romance. I’ve been there, read that, wanted to set the hero on fire while securing my alibi..etc..etc.. so color me surprise when I read the first five chapters and I found myself letting out a little giggle with a few smirks painted on my face. I was in office sexual tension heaven! I fell in love with the banter, the side characters, and the countdown was on for when these two, would finally give into temptation.
Georgina Keller is a powerful force when it comes to her work. Hard working, dedicated, a no one’s push over, this woman has it together. Her personal life on the other hand, is a hot mess. When an important job comes up, Georgina knows that this assignment will further her career and make things better. But little does she know, is that the job is about to come with a lot of complications. And sexual tension.
Charming, Notorious playboy, and Creative director for Modern Man Magazine, Sebastian Quinn has a life that most men can only dream about. He’s worked hard for that position for years but due to some personal error, he’s found himself in a not so flattering light with his work and has now been forced to have a PR cleanup. But what happens when the new girl literally changes the game?
What I really liked about this book was that these characters went form enemies to lovers and I know that this storyline isn’t new, but this author put her own spin on it with some emotional parts as well. Throw in the fact that this was a slow burn, and I was practically in enemy lovers territory. Did I get frustrated at times and wanted to smack some of these characters? Heck yea. but I still adored them and was happy that I got to witness and enjoy their happily ever after.
If you’re looking for a slow burn, sexy banter office romance, then you should really give this one a try.
I have to admit Sebastian wasn’t my favourite hero until 76% when Jessica Hawkins flipped the entire book on its side and the words ran off the page straight into my heart.
Ms. Hawkins writes about loss better than anything I’ve read in probably 9.5 years since my father died. But this book isn’t about loss, not entirely.
I’ll say I’m not much into angst like I used to be. I like my books either dark as midnight, or with a lot of sweet like my favorite Caramello bar. Jessica writes angst with the best of them, and I’m so glad I read it.
Sebastian is my favorite jerk of 2019, and I think you’ll love Georgina just as much!! A strong woman with a soft heart, she is still recovering from the last jerk when she meets Sebastian in a meet-cute that totally blew my mind.
Over the next several months Georgina and Sebastian duke it out as she helps him resurrect the magazine that was floundering after tragedy and a less than flattering expose.
When it comes to a head Sebastian knows precisely what he wants, but so does Georgina and she’s going to have to stretch to find it.
My favourite enemies to lovers romance so far this year!
I have been struggling with this review. I think I have been putting it off because I hate to say that I didn’t like a certain book. The problem is that I DID like Right Where I Want You….
When you are a blogger, you are introduced to so many authors that are new to you. So, in the back half of 2018, I decided to “pleasure read” and not take any ARCs. So, I dove into Jessica Hawken’s Something in the Way series. I was so in love with that series! I mean, what is there not to love in that series?!?!?! So, when Right Where I Want You, I was so excited and signed up! I mean, of course, when I love one book/ series, you have to see what their next book will be, right?!?!?!
I loved Georgina Keller & Sebastian Quinn. No lie! And it was a pretty easy read. But I didn’t get all the feels that I usually get with an author that I love. I have no idea why…. I read some of the other reviews, and I agreed with a lot of the 5 star reviews. It made me wonder what was wrong with me! But then I realized that my expectations of Right Where I Want You were that of Jessica’s Something in the Way series. Totally not fair to compare, I’m aware.
So, I am not going to dis this book and yet I can’t 5 star it either… So, I will just tell you that this is an enemy to lover’s books that is set in a work environment. I laughed and I loved the bantered between the characters. As I’m writing this review, I’m realizing that maybe this book just didn’t click for me.
If you are a fan of Jessica Hawkins, don’t take my word for it. Read it and make your own decision. Maybe you will fall in love with Georgina & Sebastian!!! Side note…. They were each other perfect person!
The depth of layer in this book just amazed me. You have the individual characters in the present, their history, and the characters relationship and the author did such an amazing job putting it all to have a cohesive story. I loved how the story had the humor but also had a serious side to the story. It made everything well balanced. The one thing that was a downfall for me was that there were times when the author caught too caught up with some of the details. I wasn’t interested on the complete inner workings of the company. But other than that it was a fantastic read!
4.5 Stars
What a wonderful book. It was fun and sexy, but it still had the right amount of heartache to really, REALLY get you in the gut! For me, Jessica is the queen of slow burn and she manages to not disappoint in this enemies to lovers/workplace romance/rom-com-ish novel. The story is relevant, touching on sexism in the workplace and female self-empowerment. The characters are layered–even the secondary voices, which I hope to see again in the future! Right Where I Want You gets 5 stars from me.
Jessica Hawkins never disappoints.
Witty banter
Sexual tension
Great characters
Georgina and Sebastian were fun to get to know.
This was a fun and satisfying read. I love how much heart was put into the story with the dogs, family, and emotion dealing with moving on while grieving. The story was charming and I laughed out loud a couple of times. Sebastian and Georgina are such easy characters to fall in love with. Georgina is a girl I can relate to! Her love for her dog and how she fights to overcome being a pushover are things I deal with daily. Sebastian wasn’t your typical bad boy and it worked so well. He is a sweetheart that I swooned over. I loved his doggy date! I highly recommend this book.
I’m relatively new to Jessica’s books after having devoured her Something in the Way series, so when I saw she had a new release, I was dying to read it. This story was definitely much lighter and had its comic relief from her Something in the Way series, but I loved it just as much.
Sebastian and Georgina were hilarious. I knew I was going to love them from their first encounter. Their banter and chemistry was everything I needed it to be. From their first date with Bruno, to watching them fall in love. Their story was amazing for them and fit them perfectly.
Okay I see you, Jessica! Writing a story with so much heart, the best characters and the most adorbale fucking pets. Legit, Opal and Bruno are the cutest things, I can already tell everyone is going to love them.
I haven’t read a lot of books by this author but there was no doubt I had to get my hands on this one. I was pulled to it from the moment I saw the blurb and cover.
Also, I just want to say…
I’m totally here for Sebastian’s BDE
I’m glad to inform you guys that, Jessica didn’t disappoint. She gave me exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier about it. I highly suggest you read Sebastian and Georgina’s story if you haven’t already.
And if Justin can get his own book, that would be great. He’s a wonderful friend and overall a funny character, I want to see more of him.
Wow Wow Wow!! This book!!
If you’re a fan of Jessica’s, then you know she’s most well-known for her emotionally gripping stories. Tales that make you think and feel and ache. Her latest release has that PLUS a very healthy dose of comedy, making this book the perfect read.
It’s fun to see Jessica show her comedic side, through her characters. And Georgina and Sebastian might be the perfect two to do that with. Georgina is a PR whiz, swooping in and saving businesses from their self-destruction before moving on to the next sinking ship. Sebastian is the bad boy Creative Director of a men’s mag, and he prides himself on a certain image he’s worked hard to portray. The last thing he wants is to work with Georgina.
This isn’t your typical “office romance” book; Jessica wouldn’t do that. This is a beautifully written story about two people who learn to overcome painful pasts in order to embrace a happy future. It’s about learning to let go of what was in order to gain what can be. It’s about learning to trust: in yourself, and in love.
Jessica is one of my top authors. There’s nothing of hers that I haven’t read and loved every word of. This is no exception. Right Where I Want You is definitely a re-read kind of book, and I’m looking very forward to seeing who she brings us in 2019
‘Right Where I Want You’ is the first book I have purchased by Jessica Hawkins. It is well written, full of drama and had me on a literary rollercoaster.
When Georgina accepts a job working for ‘Modern Man’ she knows she is in for a tough ride. After thoughts of her ex-boyfriend make her doubt herself, she is determined to become ‘George’ her alter ego and put all her new male associates in their places. However, little does she know that she will have a whole new challenge in Sebastian Quinn, her rival and person she is essentially there to replace.
Sebastian has dropped the ball, after grieving for his mother he has enabled the ratings of his magazine to flounder. Georgina’s arrival ignites a spark, a spark that very much reminds him of how good he is and needs to be at his job. There is something about her that he instantly dislikes and the pair enter into a sparring match.
There’s a fine line between love and hate, and both characters find this in their own beautifully emotional way. Georgina has to overcome the fact she is stronger than her ex partner assumed, whilst Sebastian has to face his fear and grief.
This book was long and full of interesting and funny plot twist. It was sincere and relatable and the characters were very true and endearing. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read.
I’d recommend this book to all romance lovers and anyone looking to try reading works of a new author.
Right Where I Want You by Jessica Hawkins was EVERYTHING I thought it would be, and yet, it was so much more!
Unlike her previous novels, Jessica Hawkins doesn’t hit readers with the heavy angst, she instead takes a step back from the angst factor. However, Jessica still brings the passion, emotions, the butterfly-inducing romance.
I thought I was over office romances. But then Jessica Hawkins writes an office romance. And I had to read it!
Most noticeable Jessica Hawkins take on the office romance and how she creates such a read. One with all the feels. One with interesting and relatable characters that have their own flaws and own them. One where the thin line between love and hate combs through a realistic pace.
And all my thoughts about not wanting any more offices romances has dissolved. Jessica Hawkins truly has a gift for building characters that readers can feel connected to. Her characters have such dimension and complexity and they have no problems craving out a piece of my heart at the end of their stories.
This is one of my favorite enemies-to-lovers romances of the yea and Sebastian and Georgina absolutely stole my heart with their banter, wit, and push/pull dynamic. It’s smart. It’s sassy. It’s everything you could ever want in a MUST READ OFFICE ROMANCE!!
What can I say, I love, love, loved Right Where I Want You. Sebastian and Georgina are wonderfull, lovable characters. Sebastian with his georgous handsomeness and our strong beautiful woman, Georgina, they made it impossible not to love them. Jessica at her very best created a seriously angsty read that made me galloping through it, waiting on their sexual chemistry to explode. and boy did it exolode. Being Irish I loved the Irish connection and it made me feel somewhat special. This book is a must read, if your new to her work you will not be disappointed, and for all our crazy Jessica fans, get reading this one ASAP, you’ll love it. Happy reading guys.
This book is definitely for me . I truly enjoy work romance
