Why the hell did I get involved with my best friends brother? It was time to make a choice. Do I follow my head or my heart? The guy I was dating seemed perfect on paper. Good looking, well-educated, and from a wealthy family. So, why did I feel sick when he was about to propose? When I found out that my best friend’s brother had lied and said we were married, why didn’t I run the other way? I … best friend’s brother had lied and said we were married, why didn’t I run the other way?
I guess I just can’t resist a man in uniform. This guy has got it going on… He’s dashing, sexy and strong! The kind of guy you’d like to take for a ride. The ride of a lifetime, that is.

Do I keep up the ruse and pretend to be his wife? Or do I let this pilot crash and burn?

She’s at a crossroads in her relationship with Curt, and figures what the heck! There’s some family drama with his parents, and his sister is seriously injured in a car accident. It was cute that Dash thought that being married would keep him out of the military and lucky that Kelly wasn’t married 10 years later when he needed to be married. I enjoyed the part where his Mom couldn’t accept the fact that he was a vegetarian. There were definitely some twists and turns in this romance with a little mystery. I am glad that everything turned out okay at the end. I enjoyed the ride with Dash and Charlotte.

Riding the Pilot by Jillian Riley is a fun, hilarious, poignant, and sweet story of Dash and Kelly. Dash is a pilot in the air force and wants to become an officer. But, he has to bring his wife to meet his CO…the wife he lied about when he started in the military. Kelly, the ‘wife’, is his sister’s best friend and he was enamored with her back then. Now, will she fake being his wife to help his earn his commission? Will she marry her current boyfriend, who wants to get engaged? Will his parents be able to get over their issues with him as he grew up???
This was a great story by Jillian Riley and one that you can’t help but root for the fake couple!!!!

This book was cute. It’s super short so you don’t get much background or much of a chance to fall in love with the characters. You also don’t get much plot. It wasn’t swoon worthy or steamy, BUT, it was sweet and entertaining enough. If you just want a quick read, this one is worth a read.

I gave it five stars. It is a great story of a person growing up and taking responsibility for his life. There is an amazing growth of confidence, strength, and honor. Peter joined the Air Force after his parents gave him an ultimatum get out or find work. During his Air Force years, he changed into a new man, became a responsible person, making good decisions, and thinking of his future. The Air Force was a steadying influence on him. But more than that, he loved it. I certainly recommend Riding the Pilot by Jillian Riley.

I read this cute little book in one sitting. Kelly and Dash were so well developed and fit the story line great. Dash goes from college dropout to join the military. Kelly worked at a law firm and dating a law school student. They knew each other during school years and yet had different interest. The twists in this book worked nicely without being overdone. Must read this book to know how it ended. I received this book in exchange for voluntarily honest review.

This is one of those books that you don’t want to put down until you get to the end. The story touches on some poignant subjects, deals with unrequited love, and includes some shady behaviour. But overriding all of this is a genuine love story.
An over-the-top fun read.
Dash is an Airforce pilot who is up for promotion. Kelly, best-friend to Dash’s sister, is in line to be a lawyer. Two people at a crossroads in their lives. Dash’s promotion to officership is threatened when his Commanding Officer tells him to brings his wife for a meet and greet. Unfortunately, Dash, in his desire to get into the military, dropped a white lie, saying that he was married–to Kelly–when he definitely was not.
Kelly, on the other hand, was having second thoughts about marrying her fiancé. Dash goes home to try to convince Kelly to become his fake wife and Kelly, after backing out of her relationship with her boyfriend and losing her job at the same time, agrees. The rest, of course, was a happily-ever-after.
This was an entertaining, fanciful and easy read from Jillian Riley. If you love over-the-top stories mixed with a little bit of drama and and a dash of fun, go ahead and pick up Riding the Pilot, sit back, and enjoy!
This is a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining story line. The author brings a bit of drama, adds in humor and the steamy romance and brings an enjoyable story that moves fluidly. I would recommend this book.
