Yes, he was a billionaire out of town developer who had come to town to build on the land.
He was an alpha male, smart, funny, cocky and a sexy, irresistible bad boy.
Would he help me protect our small-town way of life?
Or was I just sleeping with the enemy?.

This was a good read. It took awhile to warm up to Marie but all in all a good read.
This is a sweet romance about a small town girl and a real estate developer. Can they see eye to eye on the benefits of a small town?

I truly enjoyed the storyline and how easy it all flowed. Marie and Antonio were perfect for each other. I loved how every one from port st joe was doing their best to stick together and rebuild after the hurricane. Even though Antonio was one of the developers trying to by cheap and build, making a small coastal town into what they feel everyone else would like but not what the residents of the town. Antonio has a heart of gold and was able to help everyone and also find HEA with Marie.

This book is not bad and it does indeed show a lot of what truly happens in a weather torn town. The heat is just right and the chemistry is off the scale

This is a great story by Jillian Riley,,,,
Marie Lewis lives in the small town of Port St Joe, Florida ,,, she came here from her hometown of Los Angeles, California,,,, she packed everything in a U-haul and moved 2000 miles to start her new life,,,, that was awhile back, she was so worried about not fitting in, but one of the 1st people she met and is her best friend now named Lu, who also owns the hotel, “The Nesting Turtle” ,,, she has done well enough that she owns a coffee shop called “A Cup of Joe”,,, also has food there along with coffee. of course,,,,, but now the town is on the mend from Hurricane Michael and now Marie and Lu and a few others are worried that developers are going to buy out people cheap, instead of the small insurance checks they would’ve received to rebuild,,,, this would bring in developers to build condos or office buildings, which would take the small town feeling away, along with being a big tourist trap,,, the people of Port St Joe love their shops and they enjoy the busy season when tourists come and stay for awhile and leave,,, developers would change their small town feel,,,,
Antonio Flores lives in the greater Miami area in Florida and he works as a property developer at Ascend ,,, his Uncle Paolo owned the property development firm and Antonio started working there since he was a teenager and he worked, his Uncle made him an apprentice from the age of 15 to early 20’s,,,, and he watched, and he learned everything he could and he took over his Uncle’s business 2 years ago now,,,, and now he’s on Port St Joe and he’s looking around and finds an area he thinks would be good for land development,,,, but then he meets Marie and something or someone makes him rethink his whole thought about the land and his job,,, especially when he finds his colleagues sniffing around looking for land to buy also,,,, but he has a thought that could save the whole town, and Marie’s heart,,,
This was a great read from Jillian Riley,,, I would so totally recommend this book to anyone,,,,, I got this ARC voluntarily to do a voluntary review,,,,
This story pulled me in from the very beginning and I could not put it down. I cannot wait to read more by Jillian Riley.

A sweet story about adversaries (I hate to use the word enemies) to lovers. It is also a story about a town coming together after a hurricane to save the town from being taken advantage of by unscrupulous developers. Marie and Antonio come up with a plan to save the town and fall on love in the process. Loved it!

Loved the book it was great the story was well written and the characters were interesting. Marie moved to Port St Joe and brought a coffee shop. When the Hurricane hit it damaged a lot of the residents homes. Antonio is a Real Estate Developer, like a lot of other developers Antonio went to the small town to buy up land to develop then sell for a profit. Until Antonio talk to the lady that looks after the turtles and move the eggs to safer ground and he fell fot Marie.

This story moved along at the perfect small town pace. Although a short amount of time was covered, it didn’t feel rushed. Shame about Mr. Paxton.

I have read several of Ms. Riley’s books and this is very different. I enjoyed the writing, the story. The title threw me off a bit, though true. You certainly don’t get the impression that Antonio is a billionaire, but being able to purchase a lot of property. It’s not until 70% in that you get some lovin’! Enjoyable, quick read.
Hurricanes and coming home.
Jillian Riley gives us the story or real-estate developer Antonio and coffee-shop owner Marie, and the quaint town of Port St. Joe, which was devastated by Hurricane Michael.
I admire Jillian Riley for shining a light on the effects a hurricane creates on communities. The destruction, the aftermath, the rebirth, the sense of camaraderie in times of crisis, even the greed that comes with it.
This story reminded me of Typhoon Ketsana which created havoc inland. How it turned some villages near us into ghost towns, how my home was inundated—10 feet deep—with water. The aftermath, the recovery, and how, even n the midst of the chaos, some still found the gumption to steal from the very people who have lost a lot.
Most of all, though, I remember how a lot more shrugged off their cloaks of indifference and did their best to help others, even if, they themselves, had none.
I hope to see more of this kind of stories from Jillian Riley, because, in truth? Authors who use their talents to shine a light on certain issues do a lot of good for those who get to read them. And I thank her for being one.
This book was a absolute pleasure to read Not only was the connection between the two main charcaters great but it actually had a wonderful story line as well
Marie moved to Port St. Joe, FL because she had enough of life in the fast lane she wanted to live in a small town where the neighbours cared for one anther When Hurricane Michael devastated her small town the big property developers moved in She needed to convince her fellow towns folk not to sell to them When she meets Antonio she tars him with the same brush after all he is also a property developed so she hardens her heart to him Antonio returns to Miami he can’t forget her or her town and then he thinks of a solution Will he be able to convince Marie of his good intentions can he save the town and will they get a HEA You need to read to see
So many life lessons can be learned when people go through a disaster like a hurricane and then come together to help each other and to restore their lives. Reading this fictional account will probably bring those life lessons forward. This was an emotional, touching story that many will enjoy.
With her town having been hit hard by Hurricane Michael, Marie Lewis values their small-town way of life that can be easily lost when big city developers swarm in to buy up large chunks of property from desperate owners to make a profit. Antonio Flores is one of the developers who arrives to look around, but his ideas are not coming from the same place as the others. Antonio had been working for Ascend Property Development since he was a teenager and then he took over the business from his Uncle. He has another kind of project in mind if he finds the properties he wants in Port St. Joe. He had learned early in his business career that the best deals were ones that benefit the community. He had a personal love for the natural beauty of Florida’s gulf coast and wouldn’t have minded owning property here himself.
While Antonio is looking at the town, he meets Marie and is attracted to her. But she doesn’t trust him, doesn’t believe him. He leaves town, but Antonio keeps thinking on it and has an idea that could fit in comfortably with the Port St. Joe residents. He decides to talk to Marie and the townsfolk about it. Could this idea be in line with what Marie wants for her town? Could they protect Port St. Joe from being ruined by developers who were only focused on profit? And what else might be there in Port St. Joe for Antonio?
This was an easy to read book with great characters and a smooth story line that many readers could relate to or at least recognize from the real-life disaster headlines. The author did an excellent job of presenting a believable story where the reader cares for the people and the small-town life they want to preserve. Grab your copy and enjoy the story! The strength of people coming together in disasters to help each other gives us all hope for a better world. This was a nice reminder of the power of that human spirit.
I thought it was good. Exciting when you factor in her previous experience with developers. She knew what was needed and tried to do right. It was hard for her because she liked him as a person. He even tried to help her to prove that he was not out to get her. He could have gave her the earth and she would have said no to him. Once she figured out that, he was not that kind of developer, I think she opened her eyes up to what she wanted. Him.
