Revenge is a seven-letter word that isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s a word for those who have been wronged. Jo Turner has been waiting five, long years to finally turn revenge into vengeance. Using Rider, the pretty-faced manwhore, is simply the price she is willing to pay to satiate her desire for revenge. Little does she know, she makes herself a target from the one thing Rider has sworn to … has sworn to give his life to protect—The Last Riders.
When you wake the soldier, be prepared for the consequences.
Rider is going to teach her a hard lesson: revenge is a double-edged sword … and it always cuts both ways.

I am writing this review the morning after the end of the reading and still can not get out of the story. I’m a fan of the series, I’ve read all the previous books, as well as the other titles related to the main plot, and I honestly did not expect it to affect me that much. Do you know that book that accompanies you for a long time, that you have a certain literary hangover, keeps remembering the scenes and can not get rid of the feeling of it moved with you? So, Rider’s Revenge is doing this to me.
Throughout all the books, we already knew that Rider was more than he showed, that the real person was hidden. That the figure of the manwhore, shallow person was a disguise to the outside, not its true face. I just did not expect it to be MUCH more. In my opinion, he is the most complex character presented so far. I was introduced to so many layers and so many personalities, that unraveling what was true was a surreal experience for me.
The great star of his book was himself. His inability to love and his pretense made me want to say some truths in his face as much as I wanted to hug him. How difficult his journey was until he realized that his heart existed, he just did not hear it. His great secret revealed in parts, catch me, I devoured the pages for answers. I did not expect any of them. As I had not expected the cowboy so talked about and sought throughout the other books, this time was hidden right in our face. What a scene that was. I laugh a lot imagining Shade’s face.
Jo was a big surprise and a protagonist the height of Rider. She has gone through so much in life that it is impossible not to sympathize with the girl. The situation that throws her in his arms despite the fact that at first I was angry with her, I came to understand that she really had no escape. She was a strong character, who knew how to impose himself from the beginning, who not putting up with others bullshit. I was glad that it ran away from the theme we saw in the other books, where the female characters end up getting hurt because of “the club’s recreational activities.” Here she was not thrown into the dark, she knew what she was dealing with.
One impression I have always had and I have now been able to prove was that although they preach that they are all adults and know the rules, women club members have never exercised these sexual interactions as simply sex. They got involved, they have feelings, although they want to preach that it has no involvement. Bliss was a problem in the past and now in this book so as Jewel. To those who claimed to be so liberal, I did not understand her attacks and the sudden crush on Rider.
The plot is interesting, the whole question of Jo fooling him, and he discovering and turning the game trap the reader, I was anxiously awaiting the next steps in this game. As always, we have the participation of the other characters (I need my Shade fix), which is very good, because we can see them again and get to know new facts. The twists were startling and the antagonists were convincing.
As announced by Jamie Begley herself, this was her best book. I agree irrevocably with that statement. Rider was very well written, filled in the gaps that were blank, kept the flow of the series and managed to develop majestically. Now I was not ready for the epilogues. The first two were normal, laughs a lot at the first. Who would have thought the person to play with Shade would be Jo. Now the third epilogue has destroyed me. Jamie even warned, and I should have listened. What was that, My God !. I cried horrors by reading the epilogue and then when I finished. I’m kind of anesthetized by now.
I did not expect my reaction, I’m in a literary hangover, but I loved reading. It was worth the bittersweet feeling that woke me up. Rider is a legend. And deserved to have his story told. And what a beautiful story that was.
Note:
In the other books several times it has been said that Shade is a Dom by nature, but when Rider decided to practice it, it was a beauty, an art. I missed that, I waited so long for his book to see that side and it did not show.
The sex scenes were very few in this book, being restricted more to the voyeurism through the security cameras. I’m not a fan of club practice, but they could have spiced things up a bit.
Lucky finally had his revenge
Gavin’s book promises. Of all the characters, he is the great incognita, we never know him, only for the memories of others. But when you see the direction things are taking, I think his book will be dark.
Should have a bit more of this Rider / Gavin interaction. Calder left the message in the air but it was not understood. I hope that in Gavin’s book these questions will be answered.
The annoying character trophy has just been updated: Bliss passed the track to Jewell.
I have not yet recovered from the third epilogue.
Shade being Shade. It’s impossible not love this guy.
Been waiting forever for Rider’s story and as always more and more layers of an onion are being peeled. I will say through Jo was fantasti to me she was strong and she read Rider well and I’m not sure anyone else could have done that.
Wow that was one long book……but I couldn’t be happier. I never wanted it to end though. Cause I wanted it all!
I wanted this story. I wanted it more than cake. Rider was an enigma of sorts. To me he played a part and wasn’t the sweetie everyone thought he was. ‘Rider was just a soldier. He was meant to live and die for the club. If he failed in his duty, then one of the brothers could be hurt. He had failed in that duty once before. Never again.’
Riders made me fume. Yes I said it. But also I felt sorry for him. But I still loved him!
I love Jo. She is perfect. Just perfect.
Another great one to add to the series collection. The ending had me in tears!
Rider and Jo, someone who can bring the cocky Rider to his knees, they both had ulterior motives in the beginning, but both ended up falling hard. was a good read, very funny at a few points.
those epilogues…
Love this series
As usual Jamie brought another story about the Last Riders that made her loyal followers’ heart hurt, made us smile, laugh and cry and again made many of us fantasize about being part of the Last Rider family. To me, this book was a little different and set itself apart because of the fact of Rider being so possessive and his refusal to share anything that was his. Yes there’s still the voyeurism of the club’s activities but not the in depth sharing. Seem’s like we’re running out of the original Riders and the women. New characters coming in from the other chapter, like Moon, who I can’t wait to get his story. Loved the epilogue(s) in this book. Reminded me of Shade and yes it breaks your heart. The similarity of the epilogues in this and Shade where the children, grandchildren, etc of the original Riders are talked about makes me wonder if there will be a second generation Last Riders series.
I really enjoyed watching Jo and Rider find their love and Rider’s grovel was award winning
***SPOILERS SPRINKLED THROUGHOUT***
Not my favorite in the series but it was definitely unputdownable!
Without a doubt my favorite thing about this book was Jo! She was the perfect blend of past Last Rider heroines with a heaping dose of awesome all of her own. Loved how strong, fun, inquisitive, accepting, kind, clever & crazy-talented she was! The adrenaline rush she got when driving fast cars/motorcycles, her mad mechanic skills, her inability to look away from the security room monitors on a Friday night, her plowing everyone’s driveways, her not completely freaking out upon entry to the clubhouse, not to mention her EPIC kitchen speech at the 83% mark … Those are just some of the reasons why I fell in love with Jo. She is definitely one of my FAVORITE Jamie Begley heroines! 🙂
What I struggled with in this one (& I truly hate to say it) was Rider. I just wasn’t convinced that he had true, IN love feelings for Jo by book’s end. I wanted to believe in his love for Jo but since he played games with Jo’s heart (& admitted it) up through the 83% mark of this book & then a scene later says he’s ready to take a chance… it just didn’t come across as believable to me. I truly wish that we would’ve gotten more “real” Rider chapters; after they returned from their trip & he finally confessed his “I love you” to her. Some fun dating scenes, picnic or fair in town… anything like that! I really liked the many different sides of Rider but needed more from him, once things got “real”.
My extra little LOVES-
*Mag- Everything that came out of her mouth was priceless! She was a #SceneStealer!!
*Mick- I adored his relationship with Jo. The care & concern they showed for one another was beautiful.
*Rider & Jo’s “hang out time”- Loved the car rides, the garage work & security room time they spent together. It’s cool how it’s so different than how past couples spent their time together.
My extra little DISLIKES-
*Lack of sexy times- I needed more smokin’ sex between Rider & Jo! So many times I thought we’d get to that next level (a spanking, a punishment, etc) & then BAM!, there was no follow-through. And her not getting that Last Rider “experience”… Well, that sucked balls. (And I don’t mean literally! #DangIt)
*Delara- Not a fan of the outcome of that “situation”. At. All.
*Jewell- Really disappointed with the turn her character took in this book. I would expect it from any other unattached female member but what she did was NOT true to her character & it made me sad. She lost my respect in this one.
What I NEED TO KNOW-
*Who bought Jessie Hayes at the auction? Please say it was Dustin! It’d make a great segue into Claiming His Enemy… #JustSayin’
*Gavin- This guy… *sigh* Why did he continue to stay away from almost all of the brothers & only talk to a select few people? I’m dying to know!
*Lyle’s Death- He got shot & died in Keeping What’s His but in this one it said a certain a**hole tampered with his car, resulting in his death… #ColorMeConfused
Looking forward to more addicting books in this amazing saga! My fingers are crossed that Dustin Porter’s book is next!!
Loved it!
Worth the wait. Rider is a cocky, stubborn sexy male. Jo is a strong stubborn, independent female. Hot steamy sex. It has action, some twist that I didn’t see coming and heart felt moments. It has characters from her previous books as she does with the rest of the books from The Last Raiders. It’s highly recommended that you start from the beginning with Razers book. I love this serious as it’s not just an MC series. I can’t wait for the net one.
