Love this book!! Great series!!
5 stars – I loved it!
Sam “Slider” Evans lives only for his two sons anymore. He has no interest in anything, not even riding, but that all changes when Cora starts babysitting his kids.
As with all the books in this series, this one was very emotional. Slider is the shell of the man he once was. He is just going through the motions until Cora comes into their lives. She makes him realize how out of touch he has been and that makes him slowly start to rejoin the world, and the Ravens. I loved watching Slider find himself again.
Cora is an extremely compassionate woman. She helps take care of Slider’s boys, and slowly helps him come back to the world. I loved her interactions with the boys and how she never pressured them or tried to take their mothers place. Cora was just a wonderful heroine who is still trying to come to terms with the traumas of her past. Cora and Haven’s still have a very strong friendship and you can just feel it getting stronger with each crisis they go through. I love when romances show how important a good female friendship can be.
These two had a slow(ish) romance but man was it so hot! I loved every minute of their relationship and you just know they will have a HEA. Also I adored Sam and Ben and thought they were wonderful additions to the story. They are some of the best written kids in a romance in my opinion.
Trigger Warnings:
– References and flashbacks to past rape.
– References of cancer and death
– References and scenes of dog fighting and animal abuse
This is book three in the Raven Riders series by Laura Kaye. It is the story of Cora and Slider. From previous stories, we know that Cora is the best friend of Haven from book one and that they escaped from a pretty heinous home life only to be captured by an inner city gang. They are then rescued by the Raven Riders MC, and taken under their protection. We also know that Slider is a widower with two small boys at home and has pulled away from his MC family since his wife’s death. At the end of book two, Cora begins helping out with caring for Slider’s two sons.
Cora is probably my favorite female character so far. She has been through something truly horrible, and instead of having a breakdown, she just forges ahead and manages to come out on the other side stronger. She is the kind of female that rarely asks for anything for herself, but selflessly gives of her time and energy helping others. Slider, on the other hand, withdrew from everything but his sons after his wife’s death. Seeing him open up to Cora’s generous spirit was beautiful! And the boys were just plain adorable!
Both main characters have their share of secrets, traumatic pasts, and emotional burdens. Add in the action, adventure, and crazy bad guys that we’ve come to expect from a Laura Kaye book, and you have a fast paced, interesting love story, complete with HEA.
I love how each new series builds upon the ones that came before it, and how seamlessly the world’s blend together. As with other books, there is also crossover from her previous series, so we get visits with other much loved characters.
I enjoyed the focus on the characters’ internal conflicts as much as the external conflicts with the “bad guys”, as well as a few little surprises that cropped up when I least expected them. This is definitely a series I’d recommend, and this book just adds a whole new dimension to the entire world created by the author.
4.5 stars
I knew that Slider’s story would be worth the wait. At the beginning of this series, I wasn’t sure who he’d end up with. But I was hoping it would be Cora. It seemed as though she was going to find her HEA with someone else at first, so I’m glad that fizzled to a “great friends” relationship to clear the way for Slider to find the happiness he deserves.
There is so much beautiful chemistry between Cora and Slider. On top of their obvious connection, Cora has such a wonderful rapport with his kids. Of course, that makes it even harder for Slider to resist giving into his feelings for the woman. She’s patient and kind and giving. But she’s not a pushover. Cora knows her mind and, as much as she has a soft spot for Slider, she knows how she deserves to be treated.
Truly, Slider has a soft, mushy center. He’s just been through the ringer and has put up a very thick wall in order to survive this thing we call life. He loves his boys more than anything and is an amazing dad. But the more time he spends with Cora around his boys the more he opens his eyes to what those walls he erected are doing to his kids.
The emotions and truths Slider and Cora bring out of one another are just another testament to them belonging together. There are things they have to go through, that the reader knows they’ll go through, in order to come out the other side stronger and more committed than before. It doesn’t make reading those things any easier, but they are all understandable.
I adore the way the Raven Riders wrap Slider back into the fold with relief and love instead of giving him a hard time for the way he’s been a ghost of himself. Even without knowing all of the facts as to why he stepped back, they still respect that it was something he felt he needed to do. And not once did they hold that against him.
I wish this series would go on forever, but I’m realizing that I may have come to the end of the line. There are a couple of novella length stories to go, but one of them (Jagger’s story) seems like it’s going to be very hard to get for a reasonable price. I’ll keep looking, though! I love this family that chose to be such to one another. I want them all to find their HEAs!
Sam “slider” Evans has lost too much, and he’s on the edge of giving up! The only thing keeping him here…. his boys. Losing his wife was such a blow, his MC thinks it’s grief, and yeah a little of it is, but most of it is anger and guilt! He’s got no time for his job, club or himself. And certainly not the babysitter who’s about to become a live-in nanny!
Cora has had so much taken from her, and now she’s living upstairs in a MC club! Her father should have been there for her, but he’s dead, taken out after trying to help her best friends father kidnap his daughter! Her father was next really a father, he looked on her as a nuisance! Until one night changed all that, and made her runaway!
Oh this one had me crying one minute and then smiling the next. Such a lovely story. Add in cute kids, a slobbering dog and a grumpy biker and I’m there. Cora has been there from the start of this series, and she’s been a great character, a fun type of person you’d want in your life, the soul of the party, a joker and a prankster. But Cora is hiding from something dark, something that keeps her awake at night! She knows she should speak to someone, but the fear keeps its bottled up inside. She’s such a fighter, she puts others before herself, and that’s how she got the job with Slider babysitting his two boys. But she wants more from life, she loves looking after the boys, but she wants her own home, a proper job and a family to care for. Slider has been a quiet character in previous books, hiding himself away, you think it’s just grief at losing his wife, but once you start reading, you find out it’s so much more!
The action is still in the forefront of this series, and so is the drama and passion. But the dog for me made this book, and the kids, they were all just so cute! Watching Slider fight his feelings for Cora was interesting, he knew what he was pushing away, but he felt like he didn’t deserve the club or Cora. Reading them both tell each other there deep dark secrets has me cheering.
Catching up with previous couples and characters from the past few books always makes me smile, I love when the author keeps them in. You want to know how they are all getting on, and how their relationships are still growing.
There are a few triggers in this book. But I don’t think it takes away from the story.
The ending made it feel like the last book, and I’m really hoping it’s not.

Ride Wild was the third book in the Raven Riders MC series by Laura Kaye.
We met Slider and Cora in previous books. Slider was the gruff, moody, loner who was raising two young boys alone after his wife died of breast cancer two years prior. He used to be lighthearted and fun, but he was no where close to that man now. He was grieving but not everything was necessarily as it appeared.
Cora was Haven’s best friend from book one, Ride Hard. She was the snarky, humorous, care free friend to everyone. She had watched Slider’s boys once when he was in a bind and it turned into a regular gig. She was always so happy that the real Cora was hidden so far deep that even her long time best friend had no idea what she was hiding.
I loved both Slider and Cora. Granted, the Slider we met was not that likable, but it was the glimpses of what was or what could be that got me hooked. Kaye took us through the storyline development and the boys were a focal part adding boat loads of cuteness.
Additionally, Kaye continued to develop the previous characters, keeping us up to date on their growth and new adventures. Kaye also included a couple tough subjects within the secondary plots. It’s possible they may be triggers for some, surrounding both child and animal abuse. Those were tough scenes but thankfully didn’t dominate the storyline, but we warned.
Otherwise, it was emotional, yet also enjoyable with a little suspense. I desired a little more detail with the closure of one of the big conflicts, but it was entertaining none the less. It was a journey of healing, moving forward to new beginnings, love and acceptance. True to form with the series, it was also a journey of family. Ride Dirty, Caine’s story is up next.
Ride Wild (Raven Riders # 3) by Laura Kaye is the third book in the series and one of my favorite maybe because Marz from Hard Ink makes a brief appearance, but most because Sam “Slider” Evans and Cora Campbell’s slow fall into love. But there’s also a conclusion of sorts for Jagger who was wrong accused in Ride Rough. I do wish that there were future books so that we can have Phoenix and Jagger’s story.
Cora Campbell still has fear that her father will find her after the Raven Riders helped with Haven and Cora’s escape but it will be Slider, Sam, and Ben Evans that will heal them and give her the family she’s wanted forever. When Slider offers her a job as a nanny to the boys will be the beginning of healing for all 4 of them. But when injured Pitt bull dogs start showing up at the animal shelter where Cora volunteers it will open up a thought that involves Jagger arrest and a dog fighting ring plus a corrupt sheriff. Will Slider and the Ravens be able to save everyone when Cora is kidnapped? Or will he lose the love of his life?
Sam “Slider” Evans still is reeling from his late wife’s affair but when she gets breast cancer he cares for her until the end. But he vows to take care of his boys and never fall in love again. Until Cora starts caring for the boys and they both realize that love will heal them both. Can he save Cora when she’s taken or will he realize that his Raven Rider’s family has always been there and will do anything for family?
Love this series. Will continue reading Raven series.
4 1/2 Stars ! Book three in the Raven Riders series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. Each book about a different brother from the Raven Riders motorcycle club. There is some club business that is woven throughout the series but easy to follow. Secondary characters are the same throughout the series. Slider is a single dad with two boys who has been absent for the two years sense his wife’s death. Cora has taken refuge in the Raven Riders MC after fleeing a horrible home. Cora helps with Slider’s boys and the more time they spend together the more they see one another. A great story about two people who feel broken but are there for the ones they love.
My favorite of this series!
I thought there was no way i was going to love Slider more than Mav, but I do. Watching Slider come back to life was awe inspiring and just so damn amazing.
I loved this book. I hate to say and I didn’t even think it was possible, but I loved this book more than Ride Hard. I didn’t think any book was going to dethrone Dare and Haven, but Slider and Cora stole my heart.
Holy crap, Laura Kaye knows how to write all the feels! Slider and Cora are officially my favorite Raven Riders couple! Both have experienced trauma in their past that makes them wary of a relationship. However, the more time they spend together, the more their attraction grows. Two emotionally hurt characters, plus two adorable children and a dog is a recipe for a truly excellent book! What I especially liked was that Cora did not rush into the dangerous situations but rather left it to the experienced Raven Riders when she discovers a dog fighting ring. I’ve had my fill of TSTL heroines and I’m so glad that Cora wasn’t one of them. Cora and Slider both help each other overcome the hurts of their past and form a strong future together. Another awesome book from Laura Kaye!
This author writes a wonderful story catches you and keeps you going for the next installment
Emotional, Sweet, Raunchy, with a bit of Suspense.
The Raven Riders series has fast; become a favorite with me. I like how the Raven Riders MC band together to help those in need, but just not those outside the brotherhood, but those inside as well. It’s an emotional heartfelt series.
Ride Wild gives us a man whose life was torn apart by his wife’s death and he’s barley keeping it together for his boys and a young women who is determined to find happiness in her life. These two have secrets that have affect them deeply, but maybe they can find what they need in each other.
I’ve waited not so patiently since book one, Ride Hard, for Cora’s story and also Slider. We’ve gained glimpse of Sam “Slider” Evans throughout the books. So when I heard that Cora and Slider where finally getting a story. I couldn’t have been more ecstatic. Ms. Kaye did not disappoint. I loved Ride Wild.
These two people where broken, afraid to need anyone, and trust so their relationship did have some mistakes along the way; especially early on when both don’t know the others past and secrets. One thing that was undeniable was their love for the boys, Sam and Ben. Even with Sider’s issues you could tell that he truly loved his boys. Cora was determined to bring joy into their lives and some joy back into Slider’s life as well. I loved these two together and felt they complemented each other well.
Great characters and a sweet and sensual love story.
Rated: 4 Stars
Laura Kaye did such a great job with Slider and Cora’s story. I absolutely fell in love with these characters’ stories. I was hooked from the beginning. I had to know their secrets that they’ve told no one about and to see if they would trust each other enough to open up to each other, to let love it, to find a family with each other and the boys.
Slider has been closed off and unhappy since his wife died. Only he knows the feelings he is experiencing and keeping it all to himself is affecting not only his relationship with his MC but with his boys as well. There is something about Cora that brings light into his world and he isn’t sure if he is strong enough to fight the draw he has to her.
Cora hasn’t had an easy life. People think they know the worst of it but there is something she has kept inside. She is trying to move on and to make a life for herself. She has been watching Slider’s kids and slowly falling in love with not only the kids but with Slider as well. He doesn’t talk much and is closed off but there is something about him and as he heals and opens himself up to her she can’t help falling for him more. Could she finally be finding a place for herself? Will she become a part of a family and belong for once?
Trouble brews and it puts the MC, Cora, Slider and his children in danger. Will they be able to handle the threat without losing anyone close to them? Will Slider be able to not chase away Cora with his issues? Will Cora lose everything now that she has finally found her place?
I highly recommend this book. Laura Kaye does such a great job with not only her characters but the story line as well. You will be hooked from the beginning and not be able to put this book down.
Another outstanding addition to the Raven Riders Series!!! Slider and Cora’s journey from two broken souls with hidden secrets to a happy, thriving couple left me with my heart melting on the floor and tears down my face. I felt captivated with their raw passion and I never wanted to see it end. This book will take you on one very wild ride and keep you hanging on until the very end!
Cora was rescued along with her best friend. They have been staying with the Ravens until they figure out what they want to do. Slider is a widower with two cute little boys. After his wife died, he closed himself off from everyone but his boys. He is a member of the Ravens Riders motorcycle club. They assist in helping abused families relocate.
Cora has been babysitting the boys while Slider worked. He really wants nothing to do with women but she crawls her way into his heart. The boys love her and Slider decides to have her become the nanny and she moves in. Both are keeping secrets and the only way to put the past behind them, is to talk about them.
When Cora witnesses something she shouldn’t, she is in the crosshairs of a crooked police officer. Slider will do anything to keep the woman he has fallen in love with, safe.
OMG!!!! This is the best I’ve read so far. I laughed, I cried, and needed a cold shower after some of the sexiest sex scenes. Ms. Kaye really knows how to bring her characters to life. You get sucked into the story and can’t put it down. Also, there is the cutest basset hound ever. I can’t wait to see who’s story is next.
Ride Wild just took over as my favorite LK book. Given that Hearts in Darkness has been my favorite LK book for FOREVER, this is no small feat. How did this book knock HiD off the top of the list? First, this book packed an emotional punch that brought this reader to tears on multiple occasions. Happy tears, sad tears, angry tears, and then ridiculously happy tears. I cried them all while reading Cora and Slider’s story. Truth be told, though, it wasn’t just their story. This story belonged to Sam and Bean, too. Those boys were the catalyst for this family coming together and as I reader I couldn’t be any happier for them that they’re so loved! So, I said “first”, which means there has to be a second. That “second” is the absolute sense of “right” I got when reading this story. Slider and Cora have amazing chemistry for a reason. Both characters are nurturers at heart, and both need to be taken care of in a way that makes them feel valued. They were just that for each other, taking the time to understand each other and to love without judgement. Reading along as these two characters acknowledged their feelings was nothing short of perfect for this reader! I loved that Cora was such a strong woman, and that she didn’t shy away from having difficult conversations. Just as important was Slider’s willingness to address the reasons he distanced himself from the club. I especially loved that he encouraged his boys to discuss their feelings. Having finished the book, I’m equal parts sad that it’s over, a little wrung out from the more emotional aspects of the story, and still exhilarated by the ending where all of my favorite characters have their happy endings. I don’t know if Laura Kaye intends to write more in the Raven Riders series, but I certainly hope this isn’t the last I’ve read of this amazing cast of characters!
Simply Amazing!! All I can say about Laura’s writing is that it is always wonderful and she never disappoints her readers!
So happy to see Slider and Cora get the family that they both deserved. They had to face a lot of trials together before their journey ended, but I loved their story and all of the hard work and research that went into this book.
I love the Raven Riders family.
