No one rides like Chase Austin.Bad boy. Player. Adrenaline junkie. Snowboarder Chase Austin has a reputation—and not just for being the world’s best extreme athlete. He’s as cold as the mountains he rides, loyal only to his crew . . . and panties drop wherever he goes.Photographer Brooke Larson knows better than to let him get through her emotional Kevlar. So what if she used to have his poster … used to have his poster on her bedroom wall? She’s not a teenager with a crush anymore. Chase Austin is her key to the big time, and she’s getting his photo no matter what.
Too bad the only place Chase wants her is in his bed.
Men leave. Success is forever. Brooke knows the drill, and she’s not letting anyone get in the way of her career—or into her heart.
But whether it’s on the slopes or between the sheets, riding with the best means risking it all.

WOW!!! Thanks to Roxie, my bestie at Schmexy Girl Book Blog, I am thrilled to say this book was AMAZEBALLS. The writing, the angst, the characters, ALL OF IT. She insisted I drop everything and read Ride by Harper Dallas and OHMYGOD, it’s everything I look for in a book. Wrecked and not able to read anything for days after I finished, I FLOVED it. God, this is the kinda book I spend hours searching for, so I’m so grateful for the recommendation. I need more of these characters and I can’t wait for Ms. Dallas to deliver. FIVE MIND BLOWN STARS!!
Ride is a snowboarder’s dream. It’s a photographer’s fantasy. Ride is a romantic’s next smile inducing rush!
Sexy and not so sweet snowboarder meets his match with the photographer looking for her breakthrough. These two have an unavoidable pull, a tension that makes even the most armoured tanks crumble with lust. (I know that made very little sense but my crazy has its reasons.)
Ride is an unexpected surprise. I sincerely hope that Harper Dallas continues to share her stories with the world because I’m over here waiting for more!
4.5 stars – I can’t say enough about this author and how impressed I am that this is her debut novel. I’ve been telling everyone I know to read it. The writing is mature and the author does a beautiful job at developing the plot, characters (both primary and secondary) as well as the location, giving the reader the full experience when reading. This is something that I expect from seasoned, NYT best selling authors so I fully expect to see her on that list soon. I’m looking forward to reading her next novel. You are seriously missing out if you do not read this story NOW!
I was hooked from the beginning. I’m a huge fan of angst so this book was perfect for me. At 20% I was googling more books by this author. It’s her debut novel and I’ll be sure to keep my eyes open for her next book. Well done.
I loved this book so much. There was a lot of push and pull between the characters and you never knew which way it would go. I loved the dramatic issues moments and the hero. I want more. Honestly if I could give this book all of the stars I would it was full of angst, passion, love, and friendship. This author pulled me in and made me want to be friends with this group.
Fantastic book. I loved that it was deep and complex. Seeing both Brooke and Chase get through their emotional road blocks was so enjoyable. The flow of the book was great, drama, angst, chemistry, emotional, it had all the feels!
The sexual tension/chemistry was out of this world!
This book was SO BEYOND AMAZING! It crept up on me and took my breath away. Both Brooke & Chase had emotional issues that kept them from revealing true vulnerability. They hid their demons and it hurt them even more. This book took me to another place and another continent. It gouged my inner thought and left me almost speechless! This couple fought hard for their own hurt and for each other& hurt. I would say pain but hurt reveals more when you realize it. They both believed that they could fight their emotions but when it got down to the real gritty, they couldn’t . Real love does that! I love that when they finally were able to express their true feelings they never doubted each other even though it was in the back of their minds. True love existed in this story and paved a deep emotional journey for both Brooke and Chase! 15 stars if I could! Fantastic!
It was Gorgeous,& Raw &Real! And everything for the spank tank!
This was Harper Dallas’ debut novel- what a wild Ride it was! I loved this book so much- I am a self professed sports romance junkie who reads a lot- this novel blew me away. It was original, exciting, passionate, and oh, so complete- the details and visuals were outstanding. This author is one to watch and very talented, a fresh new voice in the sports romance genre. Chase and Brooke were both such complex characters and the conflict and angst were delicious. I couldn’t put this book down and re read it at least 10 times. It was that good. Read it, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Ride was Harper Dallas’ debut novel. It was written as a standalone but will be the first in the Wild series featuring each member of the False Kings Crew.
Chase Austin was a gorgeous, world famous, professional snowboarder. He was intense, hard working, rich and brooding as well as a playboy through and through. He had a single minded focus on his career. He wore an emotional mask so it was obvious there were hurts, scars and numerous layers of protection surrounding his very public being.
Brooke Larson was a free lance photographer. She was working hard towards her big break. Her motto was work, work and more work and not let any man get close enough to hurt her. She had enough hurt from men to last a lifetime.
I loved this book. At times I was an emotional mess, but it was fitting. It was well written, well developed and had a complex storyline with depth and dimension. It was written with a single POV, Brooke’s; which left a good bit of mystery surrounding Chase and his broodiness. However, as a bonus, we received Chase’s POV in the epilogue. It was a perfect way to close the book.
Dallas did an incredible job of setting the stage for the series. She left it open for more development for Chase and Brooke and there is no doubt they have an HEA. But she also provided a strong and intriguing foundation for JJ, Hanne and Hunter’s stories as well. Kudos to Dallas for a 5 Star debut and I can’t wait to get my hands on JJ next!
One of the deepest books I’ve read.
Couldn’t put it down.
Loved this book so much. Such a beautiful story, such a great plot and lovable characters.
I read this book on KU, when it was first released.
I promptly went looking for more books by this author.
But it was her first book and WOW! What an amazing debut.
I started stalking Harper Dallas right away.
I can’t wait for Crash.
I’m struggling to believe that this was a debut novel and that this book and this author haven’t received the praise and attention it truly deserves. This is a MUST READ!!
This book was everything! Fantastic character development, plotting and pacing. I couldn’t put this book down once I started!!
Chase is the perfect broken hero. He’s angry, sad and keeps to himself but beneath all of the gruffness is a heart of gold. I loved him.
Brooke is brave, smart and almost as guarded as Chase . Their chemistry was palpable and I couldn’t wait for the tension to break.
I’m trying to find more from this author but it seems like her online presence is slowly fading and I’m incredibly sad about because I really want, no NEED J.J.’s book!!
I honestly had a hard time believing this was Harper Dallas’ debut novel. Ride is well written and draws you in for a ride you won’t soon forget. Ride was amazing and I would rate it higher than five stars if I could. I found myself laughing, crying and my feelings all over the place. I love when an author can draw you in and make you feel something and Harper does with Ride. Brooke and Chase each have their own issues and their emotional Kevlar suits firmly on. What starts as something “not serious” quickly turns to so much more though Brooke and Chase both try to fight it. The more that they try to keep things on a physical level the more their emotions get involved. I loved all the other characters in the book as well and am hopeful that Harper will give them each a book of their own. I can’t wait to read more about the Kings. Great ride and I can’t wait for the next one!
I absolutely adored this book! It was so emotional and interesting and sexy. I love both the characters. They are strong but flawed. I couldn’t put this book down and I wanted more when it was done.
I voluntarily reviewed this advance reader copy.
Ride doesn’t read or feel like a debut. It feels like an experienced writer who knows what she’s doing. Harper Dallas has created a fabulous snowboarding universe with Ride and the The False Kings riders. I was completely immersed in these characters and their passion for what they love. They face their fears every time they step onto a mountain and ride on the snow.
Brooke loves boarding too but her job is as a photographer. When she gets the opportunity to work with the False Kings her dreams are coming true. Chase, her hero when she was a kid, proves to be a challenge. Their connection is immediately and incredible but they both have their “emotional kevlar” on thanks to their past and painful experiences.
They struggle with their feelings and letting people in. The only time they do is when they’re boarding together. There they’re their true selves. Just being. Seizing the moment. No words just them.
The remaining crew of the False Kings JJ, Hanne and Hunter are great too. I’m invested in all of them. The friendship between them shines and it clear they’re more than friends. They’re family.
Brooke’s family, her mother, grandpa and best friend Alex are her everything. Her home.
Ride is a thrilling and wonderful sports romance. A fabulous debut and first book in a series. I’m so excited to read JJ. Ride leads up to his story
in the most teasing and delicious way.

Loved it. Gave me the feels!
So, last week I had this post on IG, talking about my most favorite sports romances and asking at the same time for recommendations. At least two people recommended RIDE to me, and since it was on KU I downloaded it right away.
And boy was I glad I did.
RIDE is the first book by Harper Dallas. It doesn’t feel like a debut novel at all. It’s amazing. Has all the FEELS, and was addicting from beginning to end. I honestly didn’t want to put it down.
For me a great sports romance focuses on the relationship but also on the sport. The author did just that with RIDE. With more than 400 pages this book is filled to the brim with amazing scenes dedicated to snowboarding as well as sports photography.
RIDE was a bit of an angsty and emotional rollercoaster ride which held me captive until an amazing ending, another thing I adored about this book, the author took her time to give her readers an amazing conclusion. So, the angst really got me going. And the FEELS were incredible. And OMG the sex scenes were SCORCHING HOT!!!!
But what it was most of all, it was emotionally gripping.
And the writing was superbly. Fresh, unique and catching. It had everything I love about a sports romance. Fantastic chemistry between the main characters, a crew that was endearing and charming, and a main character that was SWOONY!!!
From the first moment they met, Chase and Brooke had chemistry. He was interested but played it cool and not looking for more than a hookup. And she was interested but burned by an ex and didn’t want anything to do with a bad boy snowboarder. And I was stuck in the middle, devouring their connection and cheering from the sidelines.
The story was a change and a fresh take on a very popular trope. Nowadays authors have to come up with new ways to stand out, and I’m glad to report Harper Dallas delivered.
I love finding new authors. Even more tough if they have promise, and write one amazing novel. I’m so glad I found this author, and even more though that she is apparently working on her next novel.
