This is the first book I’ve read by this Author and I really enjoyed it alot . There’s secrets , lies , and drama going on with in the Rodeo circuit . So many lives are intertwined and sacrifices made.
Best friends Sunny and Kai worked as Bull riders and we’re the best in their field . Then one horrific car crash changed everyone’s lives irrevocably .
Sunny was dead, Addie Sunny’s girlfriend was hurt and Kai already feeling guilty over his feelings for her was the driver.
Back on the Rodeo circuit trying to come to grips with everything that’s happened Addie gets a job moving to America from Australia as a reporter for the rodeo . Still not healed from the accident Addie ends up in hospital where Kai ends up looking after her still trying to fight his feelings for her and his guilt towards his best friend. Addie is an indigenous Australian being abandoned at birth by her parents she was raised in foster care system . She’s experienced bullying and neglect just because of the colour of her skin. When she meets Kai’s parents it doesn’t go well and Kai’s dad most of all treats her poorly. As a mum of indigenous children I could totally relate to Addie and her plight in regards to racism. She has a big heart and always puts people first even when things go belly up she takes the blame for something she didn’t do just so Kai could still have his family. But she doesn’t know that Alpha very well because he loves her unconditionally no matter what her skin colour is. I’m not really into the cowboy genre but this book I liked very Much and will definitely read more in this series by Author Elle Thorpe.
My heart!!!
I didn’t know just how much I would love Addie and Kai and man I was so unprepared for this level of attachment. I knew with the end of book one I was in for a wild ride but Elle has once again gone above and beyond. Sexy and sweet with smart yet painful social commentary about race relations (Shown in the states on the page but noted that its common place in Australia as well.) This was also an awesome conversation about grief and loss. It was such a good story that was intense emotionally but also gave us time to really sit in our feelings. Addie was smart and strong and capable. Kai was stoic, a strong silent type who really internalized his feelings but was so sweet and caring and felt things deep. It was such a good damn tale. And oh my god, Rem was my baby and I love him so much. I need his story yesterday!
What can I say about Ride Dirty, Cowboy…I don’t think there are words to describe how much I loved this story! As a black, latin woman, Addie’s story resonated with me in a very powerful way. Not every aspect I can relate to, but certainly I could feel for her in the moments when others make you aware of the color of your skin, when in reality we all know it shouldn’t matter. That aside, what an incredibly beautiful love story of two lost souls who found in each other something incredibly powerful: How love makes you feel at home! The chemistry, friendship, little moments, glances, touches, converstions between Addie and Kai were hot, sweet, kind, funny, angry, heartbreaking, and full of so much love. The way their story developed was beautiful, honest, and realistic to read. It made me laugh, it made me angry, it made my heart ache for both of them, and I loved every second of it! Elle, your ease at developing a story, the words, and they way it carries is something I am always in awe of. Thank you for sharing such frankness with us! I truly appreciate it.
Kai “Frost” Hunt & Addison “Addie’ St. Claire…5
Wow! Ride, Dirty Cowboy is an incredible book. Full of powerful emotions and love. The characters are wonderful and have amazing chemistry. I could not put the book down. This book is so well written and detailed that the book comes to life on the page. This is an amazing, steamy hot romance. The ending is fantastic and so satisfying. The book will leave you excited to read the next book in the series. I love this book!
Kai is a bull rider and he is on a mission. His end goal does not change when his best friend Sunny dies in the car accident they were all a part of. He has always done what is right and that also applies to taking care of Sunny’s girlfriend, even though he has always had feelings for her. Addie lost her boyfriend, was injured and in the hospital for quite some time, and just overnight, is sent to cover the rodeo circuit of the bull riders and how they are coping after Sunny’s death. As she starts meeting with the riders for the paper, she finds out more about Sunny and his best friend, Kai. She realizes that Kai does not hate her as she once thought. Can she hope that he feels for her how she feels for him? The characters are complex, resilient, and determined. The storyline is intriguing, emotional, intense, and suspenseful. Great read!
If your looking for hot and charming read you found it. This was incredibly well written. The characters are well written and engaging and the chemistry between them is undeniable. With the smooth flow of the storyline it was a great read.

I want to start out saying thank you for not making it a sappy country romance. I love how you went head on with a bi racial romance, and at the same time you were not afraid to add the southern aspect into it. I normally don’t talk to my kids (11 years old and younger) about the books I read. But this is one that I talked to them about and will read to them. You see my kids are bi racial and my side of the family has some southern roots, but when you find true love nothing will stop it. I can’t wait to read the next book!

Family can make you or tear you apart. Additionally was abandoned when she was a newborn and moved from foster home to foster home. Kai had a mother and father who loved him, however his father was racist. Kai was part of the rodeo family with his best friend Sonny. When Sonny dies in an accident Kai begins to show his real feelings for Addie( the girl he secretly loved from the moment he met her). The only issue is she is Aborigonie and his father would not approve. He keeps the relationship hidden until his father and mother see titem together. Wil their relationship survive or be trampled before it gets off the ground. This is the second book in this series and it doesn’t disappoint. Your attention will be held throughout and leave you wanting the next book in the series to come out soon. Stand alone with HEA.

Amazing, emotion-filled story.
Ride Dirty, Cowboy is the second book in the Dirty Cowboy series by Elle Thorpe and it’s even better than the first! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I got hooked into Kia and Addie’s story, they are a fairly young couple, only twenty-two and haven’t really explored the world of relationships yet.
Addie previously had a boyfriend, Sunny, who was Kia’s best friend. Sunny died tragically and Kia holds himself responsible for the devastating accident that took his friend’s life. This was an emotionally charged story that delved a little bit into the troubling subject of racial hatred and their consequences. It wasn’t all dark though, there was the excitement of the rodeo and Kia and Addie’s highly charged attraction to one another.
Kia tried to pretend it didn’t exist as he feels like he’s betraying Sunny by going after what he wants with Addie. Addie knew she felt something for Kia, something more than friendship, but she mistakenly thought he didn’t like her very much.
Addie has some issues pertaining to her childhood and it holds her back somewhat. Kia was kind of the strong, silent type and had a hidden dominant side he let out to play with Addie. These two were sweet and gentle with each other, but the burnt up the sheets behind closed doors.
Next up is Remi, and what a tale he’s going to share with us!!! I can’t wait!!!
Both Heartbreaking and Full of Hope:
Ride Dirty Cowboy was everything I’d hoped it would be…and so much more. After that ending in Talk Dirty Cowboy, I knew I NEEDED to read this book.
There is so much angst, heartache, and emotion in RDC. It broke my heart, and then put it back together again.
Addie and Kai are both stubborn as heck, man. Kai is carrying around some seriously heavy baggage in the form of guilt. Honestly, I’m surprised how many characters missed the signs in Talk Dirty and couldn’t see Kai’s true feelings. The moment when he finally opens up to Addie. Bliss. But seeing him beat himself up over it. Heartwrenching.
Addie is so much more than how she came across in TDC. I loved getting to know her, both through her own eyes and through Kai’s. (I did get frustrated with her, but I can’t say why because, well, spoilers.) I hated how she was treated by certain characters. No one should EVER be treated so poorly or disrespectfully.
There is absolutely a greater message within this book, showing that a person does not have to be a reflection of their parents or parents’ beliefs. We cannot control how others think or treat people, but we can certainly speak out against intolerance.
There is also a message here that love is greater than fear and hate.
RDC made me cry, both tears of sorrow and of joy, and I didn’t want it to end.
The book lost half a star for that ending and for making me wait until spring to find out what happens next for these rodeo cowboys!
Kai has been in love with Addie for a long time. But she belongs to his best friend Sunny so Kai hides his feelings. Addie thinks he hates her but nothing could be further from the truth. When Sunny dies in an accident will they overcome the grief and guilt to realize they have a chance at happiness together? “Ride Dirty Cowboy” is a touching, emotional romance told in alternating POV. These characters are multi-layered, complex and realistic. There are race-related incidents, themes of self-forgiveness and sacrifice. Some descriptive love scenes tie it all together wonderfully. Addie & Kai are a great couple! I look forward to Rem’s story.

I’m obsessed with western romance and this hit the spot perfectly. Interesting story, great characters and hot sex. What more could a girl want?
This a super read from Elle Thorpe and I would highly recommend it.
Addie always thought Kai hated her and wouldn’t go near her whether just because he didn’t like her or due to her seeing his best friend Sunny, all the while though Kai stayed away from her due to his attraction to her. Now they are forced together after Sunny dies and Addie joins his rodeo circuit tour so there is no hiding from each other, so truths are going to come out and wow some of it is explosive as well as hawt.
This book is full of raw emotions, guilt, attraction, family secrets, a few laughs, heart break, new friends to meet and old friends to see. So get settled in for a great read and maybe have some chocolate bickies, wine and maybe a tissue or two at the ready!
Holly hell what a steamy book Ride Dirty Cowboy was.
I absolutley loved Kai and Addies story.
It was sad at the start had me in tears but as it went on it got hot and steamy and just wow.
Kai was such a hot head at times but then so reserved aswell. He was in love with Addie from the moment he met her but she was his best mates girl. A terrible accident happened that caused Sunny the best friend to die and thats when Kai struggled to stay away from Addie.
Addie was a reporter for a magazine company and got her to travel with the team and write stories on them. Kai was the main person they wanted an article of and Addie struggled to write it at the start.
Addie has always thought Kai hated her but what she didnt know was he Loved her.
Addie and Kai finally got there act together.
Elle has away with writing cowboy books and she is AMAZEBALLS at it. You must read.
Awesome read with hot cowboys, survival guilt and racial opinions.Frost was driving the car that his best friend was killed in the accident and his guilt is breaking him up.Not only because of the death of his best friend but because he has feelings for Sonny’s girlfriend Addie. The two try and work through there attraction when they are thrown together when Addy is hired to follow and write about the bull riding circuit that Frost is competitive in.
I can’t tell if Kai and Addie are having survivor’s guilt or avoided attraction for each other. The work Kai goes into avoidance from the beginning of the book is crazy. Sunny was his best friend and he didn’t walk away from the car crash. Addie has scars and mending to do. She was offered a job to go on the rodeo circuit and report in the ins and out of being on the road. Chemistry is a chore and Addie and Kai both need to lick their wounds in order to keep their sanity. But is it together or apart? Whew!! What a rush. Read it. Love it. Read the good part as again. Lol

This is an amazing book two in the Dirty Cowboy series. It is a very interesting, well-written, well developed, witty, and engaging page-turner that will draw you in from the first page taking you on a roller coaster of ups and downs, heart wrenching emotions, and more. The characters are great together with amazing chemistry between them. Definitely recommended!

Loved Kai & Addie! This book has a lot going on with these characters – from guilt & remorse to racial issues. Kai was a difficult person to understand & to like. He keeps everyone at arms length & has a nickname Frost for a reason. Being especially mean & cold to Addie was hard, but he had to do it for himself & his best friend. Despite how he treated Addie she knew there was something more to him & wouldn’t give up. Once their true feelings come to surface, another blow comes their way, and both have to decide if they have a shot at being together. Another great read from this author! Can’t wait to read the next one!
Ride Dirty, Cowboy by Elle Thorpe is a contemporary, interracial romance told in first person dual POV. Although it’s book two in the Dirty Cowboy series, it can be read as a standalone.
Bull rider, Kai has always steered clear of Addie because she was dating his best friend, Sunny. After the three are in a tragic accident, he has even more reason to stay away from her. But when Addie accepts a job writing about what happens behind the scenes with the riders on the pro bull riding U.S. tour, Kai can’t avoid her anymore. They can’t deny their chemistry either. What will happen when they quit trying to fight their attraction? Read the book to find out.
I really enjoyed Addie and Kai’s story. As characters, they were both complex and well-developed, loveable but flawed. They both have issues to overcome, and their journey to their happy ending isn’t easy, but when they arrive it’s very satisfying. The author skillfully and sensitively explores themes of grief, racism, guilt, and abandonment. Overall, it’s a story about starting over. It’s about hope, healing, new beginnings, family, and love.
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
This has so much more than just a sexy romance. It has racial undertones and hard conversations that make the story. Kai and Addie are so much more than I expected and I couldn’t put this down.
