It’s the last-minute chance of a lifetime: photograph the World Rodeo Championships.
There are only a couple of rules: don’t get in the way, don’t get trampled, and don’t get frisky with the cowboys.
As if I need to be told. I tried that once when I was dumb, drunk, and eighteen, and no matter how good it felt I’m not about to make that mistake again. I’m here to make a name for myself, not … for myself, not become another buckle bunny.
I’m a professional, and I don’t care how charming Jackson Cody, two-time World Rodeo Champion, might be.
Even if it turns out he does remember our brief encounter all those years ago when I was dumb and drunk.
And especially not if he wants to re-start right where we left off.
It’s a terrible idea. This gig is the beginning of the rest of my life. A foot in the door. A way to prove I can be taken seriously, and Jackson is nothing more than pretty eyes, a cocky smile, and a mouth that makes the phrase yes ma’am sound absolutely filthy.
Problem is, I know what else that mouth can do, and Jackson’s only gotten better with time.
I’ve got a five-year plan. He barely thinks more than eight seconds ahead.
But when he rides?
Heaven.

Ride a cowboy indeed.
This is my first book by this author and my first book about a rodeo, and it was so much fun.
I’ve read (and loved) cowboy heroes before, but this book was even more intense.
It was so well written and the plot was enthralling, I felt like I was watching it all unfold first hand.
I loved how the characters grew and developed along the story. They brought the best in each other and not only did they aknowledge this growth, but they also embraced it and cherished it.
They had obstacles to overcome, but they were willing to make it work and compromise so they could fit into each other’s lives, without loosing themselves.
Such a great read.
Who needs horses when you’ll have more fun riding a sexy dirty talking cowboy. Deliciously sinful! I loved Jackson and Mae as well as all of the supporting characters. Jackson was inferno hot and Mae was feisty. This story was sexy and fun. This is my first book by this author and I want more. Until next time y’all happy reading.
This is probably one of my favorite books. I loved the story – they are so perfect for each other! Make sure you have tissues nearby – some for sadness, some for tears of joy
Lula-Mae and Jackson are broncin’ and buckin’ themselves into a outrageously steamy and sexy HEA! Lula-Mae has a good head on her shoulders – she’s smart, driven, and ambitious. She has always had planned to be something more than she was from the time she was dreaming of getting out of Lawton her small hometown to making a name for herself with her photographs. She generally lets nothing derail her from her path but there seems to be one thing she has a weakness for or rather someone … Jackson Cody. One drunken night many moons ago she very recklessly was going to not only allow a very much handsome handsy Jackson to punch her v-card, but also do it sans protection – talk about smart women bad choices! Now years later she’s covering the Pioneer Days for Sports Weekly and guess who is tearin’ up the Rodeo… Jackson. Her plan is just to act as though she has never met the Romancing Romeo and hope that his reputation will keep him from recalling her. Jackson knows that his the Rodeos equivalent to Tom Brady and plays that role to perfection. He is after his 3rd title and wants to do it on the back of Crash Junction. Outside of that he will be bedding bunnies and tearin’ it up and burnin’ it down as only he knows how. When Lula-Mae Guthrie walks in the door it just takes one word out of her sinful mouth to bring the memories of their near miss rushing back. She was one hot ticket then and she is very better now as far as he can tell. Jackson is determined to pick-up right where they left off and now he just needs to convince the reluctant Lula-Mae. Her job is very important to her and becoming involved with a subject is a big no-no in her line of work. Jackson has no problem being her little dirty secret especially if that means he gets to get a little cozy with her. Years of waiting it seems were indeed well worth it and Jackson craves more that his usual roll in the hay with Mae. When the dangers of the Rodeo threaten not only to expose them but Jackson himself, will they be able to hang on to the HEA they have coming to them after finding each other again?
Genre: Romance – Western, cowboys, bullriding
Standalone: Yes
Part of a series: No – Although Roxie Noir calls it a Bad Boys Novel but I haven’t seen any overlap in characters.
Steam Level: Cold shower may be needed
POV: Dual Mae and Jackson
Rating: 5/5
This is the third book of Roxie Noir’s I’ve read and have thoroughly enjoyed all three. Ride is the perfect mixture of story, steam, and hilariousness. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. The characters are compelling and I found myself rooting for them and their relationship. Mae and Jackson having to sneak around to keep their relationship a secret adds an extra layer of tension and suspense to the book. This book was a lot of fun to read and I look forward to reading more of Roxie Noir’s books. She’s quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
I Really liked Jackson and Lula-Mae’s story. The chemistry was hot & steamy but the story way sweet. When I started the story this I disliked Jackson’s character, but as he grew and evolved in the story it makes you love the bull rider even though he is pompous, arrogant, and a player. Jackson proved he was a better man than originally thought. Took awhile but I enjoyed the book more as I read it. This book is worth reading, the author leaves you wanting more.
Awesome book!!! Couldn’t put it down
