A beautiful love story
Kace Hallard leaves Sacramento on his motorbike, bound for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and to scatter his father’s ashes on the journey.
After a few miles, Kace’s bike breaks down, and Striker offers help at his shop. That’s the start of a beautiful journey through America.
Well written, good solid characters that we can relate to—a love story of how strong you can be with someone by your side. Beautiful HEA.
Good narration from Curtis Michael. Very clear and easy to listen to. Although, like usual, I sped up the audio, and I listened at 1.40 speed on audible, but I prefer all my audios to be quicker.

Ride: The Chance of a Lifetime by B.L. Maxwell is a romantic love story. The very talented Alan Jefferies narrated this loving story with great emotion. He’s a man of many voices, and I enjoyed listening to all his character voices. BL must be commended for her abundant knowledge of geography and motorcycles, enhancing the journey of the story. It was well written, taking me on a journey, away from my everyday life. I actually felt like I was on the trip with Kace and Striker.
The story begins with Kace leaving home to take his father’s ashes and all his memories of him on a trip to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, California. They had planned to go together, but they never did. In retrospect, he felt miserable he had never taken time off work before to go on this trip to Sturgis with his father. Just when things couldn’t get any worse for Kace, his motorcycle breaks down on the way. This was where Kace meets Striker.
The two were inseparable, like two peas in a pod. They had so much fun together on their way to Sturgis. They were written like they were real people. Some very hot romantic scenes while taking a shower and at times, they discussed what they wanted to eat. They always agreed and each time, their attraction grew stronger. I really thought they were perfect for each other.
Later on, when something happened, Kace was able to comfort Striker. They shared sad experiences, resulting the deepening of their love for each other. If you love a romantic love story, I recommend you listen to this story.
Amid his grief, Kace Hallard heads out alone on a motorcycle journey from Sacramento to Sturgis, SD, to fulfill the ride that he and his dad have always dreamed they’d do together.
With something wrong with his bike, he makes it to Reno and stops in a grocery store parking lot to take a look at it. While he does, Striker introduces himself and offers to fix it at his repair shop.
Kace and Striker hang out together that night and it’s decided that Striker should come along with Kace. So their journey begins!
With each new day’s adventure—from the Salt Lake Flats to the monument of Crazy Horse—the two are really falling for one another.
But all good things come to an end. Unfortunately for Striker, he needs to fly back home after receiving bad news about his uncle Dan, the man who has raised him.
How could something that started from a tragedy end the same way? Well, maybe it doesn’t … C’mon this is a BL Maxwell book, after all.
I thought Kace and Striker were so cute together. Although they met and fell for each other rather quickly, it seemed natural and effortless.
If a light and feel-good read is what you’re looking for, then Ride should fit the bill!
Firstly have to say the character names are perfect for the MCs and I like the way the story flowed and was written but I couldn’t give it 5 stars as I felt we could have seen a little more of Kace emotion / memories of his Dad when leaving the ashes.
This was such a delight to read. From the first mention of Ride on Facebook I knew I wanted to read it. In my opinion it’s the perfect read for when life gets hectic. A sweet love story with an added bonus, it’ll warm your heart and take you to some amazing places at the same time. At the same time you really get to know Kace and Striker. I’ve always wanted to just hop in the car and drive around the country. Only these guys are doing it on motorcycles. What really made the story work was how the author balanced be detailed about the scenery without dragging it out or being over done. This allowed me to visualize it without losing the connection or flow. That’s a hard line to ride and BL Maxwell did it perfectly. So if you’re looking for a sweet escape with beautiful views, this is the book for you.
