The hit comic book series based on Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s hilarious [adult swim] animated show RICK & MORTY continues!Catch up on the adventures of degenerate genius Rick Sanchez and his bumbling grandson Morty as they explore the outer reaches of time, space, and anatomy. This volume features writer Tom Fowler in collaboration with series artist CJ Cannon in a three-issue tale of … tale of missing heads, galactic doom toasters, and Jerry screwing everything up (of course). Also included is “Ready Player Morty,” in which Rick takes Morty to a High School Simulation planet, by writer Pamela Ribon and artist Marc Ellerby, as well as a high-action deathball tournament one-shot written and drawn by Tom Fowler. Come for the jokes, stay for the soul-crushing ennui.

A quick and light read
I made it to 15%; I’m not quite sure how.
My reading preferences are varied. I admit to not being a huge fan of thriller/horror novels until the past two years when I’ve found some very excellent authors in the genre. In years past I have, of course, read some of the more mainstream ones. I’m quite sure that I’ve never been hit on the head with the bucket of pig’s blood from the word go until now. The over wrought phrases here are the equivalent of what is called ‘purple prose’ in erotic novels, meaning over the top and in your face.
By the 15% mark it’s not unrealistic to expect some story building, i.e. someone or something to care about. That’s simply not evident here. Ooh, ooooh, I’m spooky and evil and I’m coming for you. Yawn.
The writing is very dark, but not in a good way – it’s dark just for the sake of dark. Maybe it gets better, but I’m not willing to spend any more time finding out.
This is the first book in a series; I can’t imagine finishing it, let alone going on to book two.
Loved it.
Slow an boring… I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. Trying to read this book was tedious at best and I finally just let it go.
Excellent read. Would recommend
good book
