In Rich Dad Poor Dad, the #1 Personal Finance book of all time, Robert Kiyosaki shares the story of his two dad: his real father, whom he calls his ‘poor dad,’ and the father of his best friend, the man who became his mentor and his ‘rich dad.’ One man was well educated and an employee all his life, the other’s education was “street smarts” over traditional classroom education and he took the … the path of entrepreneurship…a road that led him to become one of the wealthiest men in Hawaii. Robert’s poor dad struggled financially all his life, and these two dads–these very different points of view of money, investing, and employment–shaped Robert’s thinking about money.
Robert has challenged and changed the way tens of millions of people, around the world, think about money and investing and he has become a global advocate for financial education and the path to financial freedom. Rich Dad Poor Dad (and the Rich Dad series it spawned) has sold over 36 million copies in English and translated editions around the world.

This is the only book I’ve read cover to cover because I wanted to! It changed my life. I haven’t looked at money the same since reading it. I have the Cash Flow game too, which I have played with my kids and taught them along the way. My brother uses the game to teach adults about investing. I highly encourage everyone to read this book at least once!!

It’s nice reading this book
This was a very eye-opening book for me. My biggest takeaway was not to work for money but to have money work for you. That’s great advice. I’m not sure I agree with his total worldview because I feel the work I do goes beyond making money, but definitely worth a read.
This is the “Financial Bible” that turned my life around after finishing college (with a huge debt) and serving my time in the military (barely making any income to survive on) and getting my financial life on track to retire relatively early with any luck and good preparation. This book teaches you what the public school system and colleges fail to teach about getting rich in life. A definite re-read if you don’t get it the first time. But easy for a 10th grader to pick up on.
** spoiler alert ** Really loved the smooth flow of the book and explanatory nature, although a lot of emphasis is on two things either starting a business or entering into real estate, which everyone may not want to do. Also immensely liked the world view that 4 months out of 12 we work for government and rest for ourselves. Really powerful insights.
i really want to book
If you wanna be wealthy, make it your priority to read this book first.
Great insight on finance and what you can do to get ahead. Life isn’t all about money but the less you can worry about money the more you can enjoy life, highly recommend for anybody, especially those not taught anything about finances growing up.
it will forever be the best motivating book I have ever read. I read it at least once a year.
