Great Beginnings
To the series of books about seven brothers that have bought a ranch. Rhett is a Forensic Veterinarian and he became friends with the Foster sister that own the small ranch next door. But he fell for Evelyn the middle sister, and they started with a take marriage to save her business but figured out they loved each other.
In the life of a female “Hitch”, Evelyn coordinates meetings with unsuspecting cowboys who don’t know how to get out of their own way. When it’s all said and done they are never the wiser at the effort put into the “chance meeting” they had with the love of their lives. It’s a great job that Evelyn loves, but the fact that she can’t keep a relationship for herself gets in the way of her credibility.
Rhett moved to the Texas panhandle and bought a ranch to get away from his life in Eastern Texas. One area of the book I never quite got a handle on was why, though I could tell it was as much for his brothers, if not more so, than himself. As it happens, his ranch is next door to Evelyn’s.
I found it an interesting twist on a fake marriage story that both parties knew exactly what they were doing when it happened. They planned to get divorced at an undetermined time before they went through with it. At times, I got frustrated with Evelyn and her ideas. As it went on though, I enjoyed it and how everything played out. Liz does a great job of weaving in the next couple, making sure it’s part of the plot and makes sense.
A really emotional romance.
Rhett just wanted to get away from everything when he bought a ranch that he and his brothers could live on. He had meant to stay single for a very long time… that was until he met Evelyn from the neighboring ranch. But up until very recently, Evelyn had a boyfriend. Now that she’s free, he’s wondering if what they have, as friends, could become much more.
This is the first book in the Seven Sons Ranch in Three Rivers series and stands on its own but it will be connected to the rest of the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved Rhett and Evelyn’s story!! I really wanted to knock some sense into Evelyn a couple of times! Evelyn had to learn how to open up and listen to God, and how to communicate better with Rhett. Rhett realized he didn’t know Evelyn quite as much as he thought he did, and learned patience the hard way!!
Sweet romance. The hunky cowboy rancher meets the matchmaker and sparks fly. Great entertaining story.
There were parts of this book that I truly enjoyed and others not so much. First I couldn’t understand how Evelyn Foster could make a living at matchmaking when she only worked with the female and helped them to “meet” the guy in a given situation. She and Rhett marry but she expects to continue to live at her ranch with her sisters. The “marriage” was to be fake be get her business back but how when everyone would know the marriage was fake since they would be living at two different ranches?!
This book is written in a multiple POV format. We get the brothers that are currently living at the ranch and her two sisters. I had a hard time keeping the story together with all the characters.
This is the 2nd book I read by Liz Isaacson. I wanted to like this story. But I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 4 because it didn’t grab my interest.
The whole series was good.
Enjoyed reading this book.
Great story about three sisters and seven brothers. A marriage that wasn’t real to help with Evelyns job. Fun reading.
I’ve read most of Liz Issacson books and enjoy but maybe a couple.
The Storys of Rhett and his brothers are some of my favourite
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have the whole seven sons series and each one was fabulous.
read the series, very good books
This is one of my all time favorite books. I would actually read this book and the whole Seven Sons series all over again. The whole series is fabulous. I have yet to read one of Liz Isaacson’s books that I did not love. Keep em coming.
This series is fun! I love the covers and the cowboys.
Predictable but fun!
It was predictable but different.
Was not a fan of the way this story was written. I felt the point of views from the characters outside the relationship took from the storyline. I also felt that she was one way in the beginning of the book then they seemed to swap places. Which made it hard for me to get into the book. It ends happily enough though.
Evelyn & Rhett have a rocky fake marriage since he loves her more then she thinks she loves him. Interesting how they come to work things out. An interesting start to a new series.
Perfect!!!!
